Indeed! And mad props to DRob for an amazing pass under pressure!

I also love that we set up the win with a DROB pass. BOOM.

Brian - can Dileo get some love for the epic Hoke double point this week?
October 20th, 2012 at 7:17 PM ^
that's a given.
October 20th, 2012 at 7:30 PM ^
Gibbons, maybe?
October 20th, 2012 at 9:11 PM ^
See wha i did there.

Hats off to Dileo for his superb game. Had to have been a crazy atmosphere in the Big House which can only help out our chances for Green and others. Bring em home Hoke and lets hopefully get a few more "Buckle Ups" here in the next few weeks.

Kid shows up well in big games. The catch in this game and the snag toward the end of OSU last year speaks to his fortitude.

he is the holder on the kick too.

Huge catches; most of them difficult and in traffic. Held right-footed for Matt Wile and left-footed for Brendan Gibbons.
An unheralded 3-star Rich Rodriguez project out of Louisiana; this was his day. Player of the game.

I posted this on the live blog, but it scrolled by so fast I feel the need to post it again:
Anyone else remember when this blog flipped out after Dileo committed?
October 20th, 2012 at 7:00 PM ^
Not one of this forum's finer moments.

The Board thought that it was kind of a wasted pick, that RR brought him in merely to return kickoffs becuase at least he did not fumble the ball.
He made some comments that were almost apologetic after he comitted, about how he hoped he could live up to the Michigan offer. I felt bad for him because you knew he read some of the comments.
But there were also a lot of supportive comments on the Board as well.

Dileo was the only bright spot on O today. Everything else was mostly turrible. But a win is a win, especially against a rival.
October 20th, 2012 at 7:01 PM ^
The Defense was not turrible. It was, in fact, the opposite of turrible.
October 20th, 2012 at 7:03 PM ^
I realize your comment was aiomed at the O, but I still thought it was worth mentioning.

Was Pipkins out or hurt during the game or something? Swear I saw him in street clothes walking by the Paul Bunyan Trophy.

Painful to read. A lot of gaping assholes, now gone, posted there. Glad they are gone. Here's to a family atmosphere on MGoBlog, and to many Spartan beatdowns to come!!

ESPN's comments on Dileo as a recruit:
He is a good athlete with quickness and agility... Maintains balance even after being hit. Fights for every inch of return yardage and can make defenders miss in the open field. … Catches the ball easily in traffic and hauls in the pass even knowing he will be hit immediately after the reception. Can turn back across his body to make the difficult catches.
Wow, they called it dead on. ESPN is generally thought of as a second-tier recruiting service on this board, but they nailed that one.

What Denard was to OSU last year. We wouldn't have won either game without their individual performances. To magic midgits!
October 20th, 2012 at 9:10 PM ^
RCMB posters were going nuts over him, calling him all manner of derogatory names; it was glorious!

Dileo was fired up all game, you could see that when he was jawing the DB after his earlier catches.
October 20th, 2012 at 7:23 PM ^
Nothing to see here, move along.
October 20th, 2012 at 7:12 PM ^
He is indeed the Real Dileo. Four receptions for 92 yards, and in this game, all of those yards were vital. Truly the difference maker today - many thanks to Drew!

The hit that he took on his first catch of the day would have knocked out lesser men. Kid has great hands, catches anything put anywhere near him. Glad he had a huge game like this that we couldn't have won without him.
Hoke in postgame with Brandstatter: "Drew Dileo is a football player. And he's a tough little football player."
