14 hours 57 min ago | My take... |
MSU knows it can't do anything to stop the hit on its reputation amongst the general public. They are only worried about their fan base, alumni, future students. The "fuck the victims and ESPN" narrative keeps their pride intanct. Sparty nation is drinking the kool aid and they will keep buying tickets, proud of the rebilious defiance of Mork and Izzo. Their plan is working. Sad but true. This will be old news in a year and Sparty will be riding the gravy train again while Engler stuffs his face with BBQ in a mansion in Florida. Crime pays. Ask Penn State. MSU's strategy is working and it is brilliant in a lot of ways. Disgusting, but brilliant. If Sparty beats us again this year, the slappies will build Engler a statue.

Sad but true. MSU will be fine. It will continue to happen. God bless America. |
1 day 15 hours ago | I hate to even bring this up... |
Aside from MSU being buddy buddy with this guy (not suprising at all... we are talking about MSU here), why was he allowed to coach girls volleyball? Are there no adults left in the world? |
1 day 15 hours ago | Exactly! |
Best response I've read in quite a while canzior. |

I think that is the really scary part of all this. Deep down, many people don't care or think it's girls crying rape. I think the "they don't represent us!" faction at MSU is mostly a farce. Beat Michigan. If that means some girls get raped, so be it. The stadium will be full next year with people rabidly cheering on a team that they damn well know has several future rapists on it. They of course will rationalize this somehow, but I just can't see it any other way. Dantonio is still a hero even after he recruited Auston Robertson to the team. I'm sure he has a few more questionable characters getting ready to suit up. I'm also sure they are going to sell a lot of tickets and merchandise to an adoring fan base. Penn State is back riding the gravy train with famous comedians supporting the program. The NCAA lifted the sanctions and gave back the wins. The same thing will happen at MSU. Jackson will go in the top ten in the NBA draft, think he gives a shit? The lesson to be learned is clear: pay off the victims and carry on as usual. It's very depressing to me at this point. People will go to MSU because they think it is in their best interests to do so. They will live in blissfull denial of the sick institution they are supporting. Athletes will do the same. It's human nature. God I'm so over all of this. What sick joke it all is. Sorry for the rant. |

I think the coaching and QB play was, unfortunately, less than mediocre? Of all the things you mentioned, those two issues stood out to me. I'm hoping Patterson will be elligible because I think his play could have an effect on the coaching. It would almost force less reliance on late developing passes, or at least it would provide a viable "out" for plays that take too long to come together. One problem, and maybe this is my inner fanboy talking, is that the NCAA seems to hate Harbaugh. I see them denying his elligibility out of spite. The NCAA is that big of a joke. They may see this as Harbaugh "taking advantage of loopholes" which has already drawn ire? |

Really a shame. Seemed like a good human being. |
6 days 17 hours ago | I really wouldn't be shocked. |
They don't care about being fair and would enjoy sticking it to Harbaugh if possible. Choose the right thing to do, do opposite. NCAA mantra. |

Quote from the victim's attorney: "MSU personnel have molested her, threatened her, lied to her, bullied her, silenced her, called her a liar and now the office of the president of the university accuses her of purveying 'fake news' because she dared to speak the truth," Manly said. "There is apparently no depths of depravity or dishonesty that Engler and his minions will not sink to. They clearly loathe survivors."

He wrote another great one last year. No kidding, i think the dude is a really talented writer? I wonder if he has thought about that? Really impressive. I'd no shit like to read a monthly column by him. |

What a cool way to go out. Made me proud. I hope we get to see some of the quotes be re-quoted after he wins an NBA chanpionship. |

Great work by Moe to make the show! Great work by the coaches in helping him get there. Another quality kid comes to Michigan as a relative unknown and leaves as a legend and possible first rounder. Simply awesome if we all take a step back and think about it from the perspective of "did Michigan do this kid right." As a Wolverine, I wanted him back, but it's about doing what is right for him. I honestly think the time for him is now. Kill it in the league Moe. Thanks for the memories and for doing Wolverine nation proud. As for Mathews, I think another year would serve him well. I guess we shall see. Either way, go blue!!! |

Depending on the losses, that could still buy us a trip to Indy. Hope we go undefeated, but a lot of tough road games. Undefeated will take some good fortune, but we are due for some I guess. |

Total armageddon. Destroyed my house. The sound of the storm approaching was the creepiest thing. My poor dogs tried to jump through the windows. Fun times. |
1 week 5 days ago | I can remember a few nasty ice storms in oakland county. |
Maybe late eighties and early/mid nineties? No power, heat, water... I actually remember it being kind of fun as a kid though. We camped out in the living room in sleeping bags by the fire and played board games. We went sledding at mach 5 on the ice snow... Now, as an adult, I would probably hate it? Michigan weather is only for the brave/insane among us. |

The special counsel to the President already tipped their hand... Per Mlive report already posted: "I said again, it's not about money," Lorincz said. "[Special Counsel to the President] Carol Viventi said 'Well you're in civil litigation, aren't you? That's what a civil case is about, money." I think this is the explanation for all of this. MSU is trying to portray the victims as ambulance chasers at any cost. They must have some insight that it is working? At least for those already sympathetic to MSU (Alumni, fans)? I'm sure they realized early on that they weren't going to win the hearts and minds of most rational people, so they might as well focus on the irrational people that will back MSU and it's money making machinery even as the ugly, unhideable, facts keep coming out. No PR firm is this bad. They must have data suggesting that a lot of people are on board with the money grab defense.

1 week 5 days ago | There has to be some explanation... |
There just has to be? Doesn't there? They have employed $1000 per hour lawyers and this is the strategy? Is Engler just ignoring the advice of counsel? I can't wrap my head around this. |
1 week 6 days ago | Good luck to the kid. |
Hate to see anyone go, but I can see why. The roster is stacked next year. |
1 week 6 days ago | I tend to agree... |
God himself couldn't coach the Lions effectively. I don't have an issue with it. I liked some, not all, but some of what I saw from him and his staff. |
1 week 6 days ago | So, what is MSU's actual stance here???? |
MSU: We all need to listen to the victims and not blame them... Unless they sue MSU. If that is the case they are all liars. We also don't comment on pending lawsuits, but now that she screwed us, here is enough information about the accuser to hopefully blow her annonymity. Act appropriately towards her everyone... You hear that boys? Any team pride left? You gonna let this slide? So, which victims are we not to beieve at this point? It seems like this is the first one that MSU has publicly accused of lying. Is that true? Anyone keeping a tally? |
1 week 6 days ago | My greatest fear is that this is a farce. |
If Sparty really wanted them gone, they would be gone. With him there they can blame Engler while saying "he doesn't stand for us" while buying season tickets to watch next year's rape squad that Engler is doing his best to protect. The stadium stays full, the merch sells, you have a plausible "bad guy" doing the dirty work so you don't have to look dirty yourself. Everybody wins. The world is a sick sad place. MSU is too big to go down. Ask Penn State. Their biggest mistake was accepting responsibility. MSU's fuck the victims approach might actually work for them. At any rate, I'm 100% certain they will have a full football stadium and Breslin next year even if people have to walk past 100's of victims telling them not to enter. |

I still suggest "glowing nuclear fallout" surrounging the athletic programs. |
2 weeks 1 day ago | I will forgive the good sparties |
As soon as they manage to do something about the dispicable behavior of their representative leaders. They won't. They will say "Engler doesn't represent us!" while buying season tickets to watch their rape squads. Pillow talk... |

2 weeks 1 day ago | Where are the "this is political" mods remove whiners???? |
I was able to make it through almost 10 respones without anyone: 1. bitching about the person that posted this for breaking the no politics rule 2. defending Sparty and their sick as hell institution 3. Waxing poetic about the soundness of MSU's legal strategy 4. asking the mods to censor the post. You're sleeping at the wheel Sparty. Keep fighting! We are all counting on you! On another note. I'm over this. I'm not apologizing to my Sparty friends anymore. They want a fight, lets give it to them. This is absurd. Burn it down. |
