Niko Porikos grew up in an NTDP billet home. Cool story.

They were crushed by both teams with a pulse that they played. Clemson has also not played anybody.

After the game, harbaugh was asked about those plays and he said that Jedd Fisch drew them up and they practiced them this week.

A hard shell does not 'deflect' anything. Where would it deflect to? The force goes straight into the persons head.
The exact same force is transferred to the head either way. Soft padding is there so that the time that it takes for that force to run it's course is lengthened instead of all it going straight to the head, a cushion (more slowly) absorbs the force before transferring it to the head (still much slower). Brain injuries occur when the head experiences rapid accel/deccel. Slowing that process down would reduce injuries.

He would be so good if he could shoot.

Zardes was not good today. Very bad passes and never seemed to know what to do once he got the ball.
|25 weeks 3 days ago||soft padding||
I don't understand why they don't make soft padding on the outside of helmets? If there are too many concussions, make it thicker. The crack of helmets hitting would be gone, but I imagine that it would be much safer.

Barnes is not a good coach. He can recruit but is a terrible coach. See his NCAA tourney record, for example. There was an article on FiveThirtyEight.com just today talking about what a great tourney coach Izzo is (our beloved coach Beilein is top 10). Rick Barnes was dead last at number 511.

I heard the same thing. Durkin for linebackers is what he said.
|41 weeks 4 days ago||not sure about that||
Ansah went low on Clausen and was diving to tackle him and when Ansah started diving Clausen was not sliding. Because Jimmy slid, his helmet went low enough for Ansah's helmet to hit him. If he stays up, he just get hit in the leg. Because he was hit in the head though, it should be a penalty (which it was), but I'm not sure if it should be more than that.

there was a play where ball was thrown to funchess on second down from about the ten. msu db obviously grabbed his hand before ball gets there forcing funchess to drop the ball.

We outgained Penn State 246 to 214 and were even on turnover margin. Turnover margin HUGE in predicting outcome of games.
|51 weeks 6 days ago||the ref||
Since the ref that called it was standing ten feet from the guilty party and on the line of scrimmage, I'm going to go with not controversial at all. The guy that was offsides recovered the ball since he got such a 'head' start. I'll forgive the refs for bs challenge reviews because of good offsides call. Hooray for a win!

|1 year 1 week ago||Injury rule||
If you are injured such that you cannot play, you stay down. As a player, this is universally known. Morris hopped right back up after getting hit big. This may have played into the lack of call from the ref and the confusion and slow decision making on the sidelines. That said, when Nussmeier saw him limping, he should have TOLD him to come off the field and not ASKED him.
|1 year 1 week ago||Morris' inexperience||
If Morris would have stayed down after the play, it would have given the refs more time to think about the correct call (ejection?) for the other player as well as give time for medical staff to assess him on the field. It is another piece of evidence that says Hoke's first bad decision was to even start Morris.
|1 year 1 week ago||what I don't understand at all||
I don't understand why Morris didn't just lay on the ground and wait for medical staff. It is a universally understood thing in sports at any age level that if you are hurt and stay down, play will be stopped and you will get medical attention. Instead of limping around and waving at the sidelines, just sitting on the ground would have worked. The situation with Morris resulted from a lot of things, not just Hoke's mishandling of the situation.

The last camera angle was the best where it shows just how far he had to go. Also like Geno Smith looking dumbfounded that that just happened.

He had no reason to hit her. It just looked like she was hitting him as well. Neither of them should be using violence. I agree that the dude committed a crime and deserves to be punished as he knocked her out completely.

Yes, I would prefer that nothing on this blog be a complete surprise to them but perhaps some of the in depth anaylsis goes beyond what they themselves have time to do.
