Franz Wagner killing it in the NBA
Thought I'd bring some good news to the board this evening
Franz Wagner has absolutely been killing it the NBA so far for the Magic. He's yet to score in single digits during the regular season and is scoring an absurd 15.6 ppg on 51% from the field and 46% from 3. Last game he had 19 points and tonight he dropped 28 points on the T-Wolves including this insane dunk. His defense has translated to the NBA and his 3 point shooting has great so far. Many see him as a dark horse RoY candidate at the moment. It's been really fun watching him succeed so far

Been following him. This obviously makes Juwan look fantastic to any prospective recruit.
Side note- I also enjoy his big brother coming off the bench and launching 3s. Mo is sticking around and contributing.

Let's hope recruits take notice but remember, Michigan will lose a lot of recruits because it doesn't wade into the dirty waters of typical basketball recruiting. Juwan isn't an unscrupulous recruiter like so many other college coaches are.

With NIL much of that is nullified.

This thinking applies to basketball a LOT less than it does in football. Most of the top recruits in basketball are assuming (rightly or wrongly) that their college stop is only for one season, so the bag is much less of a thing. With a coach like Juwan Howard, the potential millions that come from his tutelage can be far more influential than a greasy McDonald's bag stuffed with fifty grand.

Makes Coach Beilein look good as well. Iggy, Teske and Mo.

Damn, those are crazy numbers for a rookie. I knew dude was special.

NBA spacing is really working to his advantage.

Yep, he has more room to drive. But the shooting is all him--he must have really worked on his shot to be hitting that well on his NBA 3s.

I hope so. I have to believe that his shooting is going to level off--46% from three isn't really sustainable, I'd guess. So some of this might be noise.
But if he can keep it even in the high 30s it's a big deal.

Thanks for posting. Glad to see Franz having success in the NBA

Here's one case where I'm rooting for Little Brother (Franz that is for those still not sober after the Michigan loss and might misinterpret).

That’s some Hooting by the color guy after the dunk, too.

the dreaded "double Franz"

How's Mo doing? You'd think if little brother was doing better than you...oops, phrasing ?

Not sure if he ever had a streak of consistently hitting 3s at a high percentage like this while in college. Seems a lot more comfortable with the pro spacing.

From what I have seen , I'll take Franz over Cunningham.

Good for him! He is super-talented with a skill set that is tailor-made for a long NBA career.
I just wish he had killed it in the Elite Eight game versus UCLA:(

He's got a complete set of NBA skills and if his outside shot is falling then there's no reason he can't be a good starter for a decade.

Whenever I read the word Orlando, I start singing from The Book of Mormon. Not a bad thing.

Whenever I think of singing and Orlando, I want to tie a yellow ribbon around an old oak tree.
