Harbaugh has gone from they…

Harbaugh has gone from they should build a statue of him somewhere to should we boo him when he comes back next year? in a month.

He thinks this is the NBA…

He thinks this is the NBA. That comment is exactly something you say to professionals. It's clear that he knows how to do strategy, but cannot develop and motivate players. That's why it looked so good with Beilein's guys, especially Eli Brooks.

It's time to go. The problem is that I don' think anyone trusts Warde to make the hire. This is the second time he's hired a coach who sunk a basketball program that was handed a great situation (at least UCONN had the miracle national title run).

Yost, Crisler, Carr,…

Yost, Crisler, Carr, Harbaugh, Bo, Moeller.

I know it hurts the Boomers to not have Bo number 1, but he didn't win a national championship and played against significantly weaker competition than Harbaugh and Carr. I still think without Moeller's bad night he's probably in the top 3.

I can't believe how badly we…

I can't believe how badly we squandered last year's playoff appearance by following it up with a 15-0 national championship season.

A group of Midwestern boys…

A group of Midwestern boys haven't made such a gallant stand to hold their ground against a southern offensive since the Iron Brigade.

This was all rather obvious…

This was all rather obvious last year when he refused to bench Jett for not playing defense or boxing out all year. You could see the frustration on Martelli's face.

Nothing epitomized this more than Jett not boxing out the shooter in a pivotal moment in the Big Ten Tournament.

If they aren’t going to…

If they aren’t going to provide evidence to get Day or Knowles suspended or Harbaugh’s suspension lifted then it’s pointless.

it’s ridiculous that OSU deploys ESPN to attack Michigan while Michigan thinks it’s can use anonymous Twitter accounts, but it once again reveals that OSU is more serious.

Michigan v Texas during…

Michigan v Texas during Thanksgiving weekend in the SEC would be just as big a draw. So would Michigan v Notre Dame in the ACC.

Totally fine with the stance…

Totally fine with the stance that if they're going to suspend Harbaugh, we're going to reveal information that will make the Big Ten have to suspend OSU players.

A think to remember is that…

A think to remember is that Ono was the president of Cincinnati and he really likes sports. He almost certainly hates Ohio State with a passion and isn't going to sit there like the previous presidents did.

The guy was hired in 2022…

The guy was hired in 2022. My guess is that he took initiative and broke down opponent's sidelines and then pitched it as a way to try and get on staff.

Here are the classes from…

Here are the classes from Stanford that don't transfer. Which ones of these should have transferred?

Beer.

Beer.

This is such wishful…

This is such wishful thinking. Harbaugh won everywhere he'd ever been before the 2020 season and the criticism he received wasn't that he was having bad seasons, it was that he couldn't beat our main rivals.

Juwan is so far the exact opposite. His one good season was the COVID season where he had a very experienced team.

The most damning aspect of Juwan this season was the way he handled Jett. It's hard to imagine any coach worth his salt just letting his play throw his arms up in the air after once again watching his lack of hustle or playing basic basketball cost his team in a crucial moment.

https://twitter.com/JasonKingma/status/1633899935950094356

This is stuff middle school players do, including throwing their hands in the air.

I don't think he deserves to be fired, unless you have a can't miss alternative available (which *is* similar to Harbaugh 2020). But it is much harder to give Juwan the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, young players do in…

Yes, young players do in fact get better with experience. It is also true that his player development isn’t an F in that they regress. The juniors on this team were both highly recruited players who haven’t gotten significantly better over the past three years outside of the rate of playing more college basketball and becoming older.

we watched five years of this with Amaker.

Player development is on…

Player development is on Juwan. Hunter is a junior who plays like a he’s a high level freshman at the end of his first season, except that his attitude is that he’s some tough, clutch player. In reality he’s Bill Laimbeer without the toughness or the game.

Juwan is A at strategy and…

Juwan is A at strategy and identifying talent, but a D at teaching young players how to play at an elite level.

A good NBA coach coaching college basketball. He either finds a coach that can teach how to play or we’re in for another couple frustrating years just like this one.

Juwan’s biggest weakness is…

Juwan’s biggest weakness is that he won’t sit Jett for being lazy the way any other coach would.

I said alleged for a reason.

I said alleged for a reason.

Your best player missed a…

Your best player missed a game tying free throw and your alleged second best player didn't hustle, again, and missed a defensive rebound. Blaming a bench guy is not it.

We won the Rose Bowl in Jan…

We won the Rose Bowl in Jan 89, then the national title in march of 1989 then won the Big Ten again in football.

Jett playing defense and…

Jett playing defense and running the offense versus Jett playing hero ball, not focusing on defense, and Juwan doing nothing about it.

The only way he’s leaving is…

The only way he’s leaving is if he realizes his coaching style is better in the NBA, which it is.

You can’t let your guys roll in wearing ski masks and “free Juwan” shirts and then give up 13 offensive rebounds to one of the worst rebounding teams in the country.

Complete clown show.

It should be Stanford and…

It should be Stanford and Cal (It really should be Notre Dame and Pitt, but that's neither here nor there), but UW and Oregon aren't a bad consolation prize. UW is WAY ahead of both Arizona and Arizona State when it comes to academics. UM Medical Center is one of the best in the country and it was one of the better research institutions all around. They're a better cultural fit than either of the other two.

Juwan would be good for the…

Juwan would be good for the Pistons. Oats would be good for M, especially before he goes to MSU.

Putting Brady in the…

Putting Brady in the secondary seems dumb, but I guess some people are willing to try anything.

Throw in a lot of the fact…

Throw in a lot of the fact that Juwan doesn't seem to be able to develop college guys, but can scheme well when the guys know what they're doing. Really explains year 1 and 2 versus the last two years.

Frighteningly similar to Kevin Ollie.

Juwan would be a great fit…

Juwan would be a great fit for the Pistons where he can scheme and gameplan and just have professionals execute.

There are no ramifications…

There are no ramifications for when he goes rogue or doesn’t try, especially on offense, like tonight when he didn’t pass the ball dribbled around a bit and jacked up a shot in an important moment, but also when he doesn’t try on defense or box out.

It's La Salle Blue and Gold!

It's La Salle Blue and Gold!

Warde is going to have a…

Warde is going to have a Juwan problem soon enough as his teams continue to get worse, which means they can't overcome his disastrous +/- final 4 mins of a game, which has haunted the last three teams.

If we're doing way out of…

If we're doing way out of the blue people it's Tomlin, who has said he likes the program.

Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin explains what he likes about Michigan football program - Maize n Brew

There was a moment tonight…

There was a moment tonight where Jett stood and stared at the ball on the rim besides boxing out that cost us two points when CMU got the board and put pack. When Juwan didn’t sit him like any other coach would, I turned to my buddy and said, this team has some major problems. Just completely unfocused without any ramifications.

This game felt exactly like…

This game felt exactly like the Amaker days. Not running offensive sets. Not boxing out. Not doing basic things on defense. The team plays to the level of the competition and you have to hope your guys make the difficult shots, regardless of whether you’re playing the number 1 team in the country or CMU.

The team is consistently undisciplined, similar to last year. The three games against MAC teams feel like canaries in the coal mine. NBA style only works if the motivation is there and you have the talent.

This team frighteningly…

This team frighteningly resembles the Tommy Amaker teams in how they play to the level of competition, gets pushed around, and routinely doesn’t run an offense for stretches at a time, even out of timeouts.

I don't think you have any…

I don't think you have any idea what goes into being a Big Ten referee. They aren't grabbing people off the street. These guys spend hours reviewing tape and working their way up the ranks. It's true that they should just be made full time, especially with so much money floating around these days, but almost all of these guys are highly educated with multiple degrees.

Let's just take Ron Snodgrass, last week's referee. He has a Ed.D and runs a prep school located on a college campus.

Juwan Howard learning when…

Juwan Howard learning when to use timeouts and being able to make adjustments when things begin to stop working and therefore avoiding disaster second halves, which is an issue that has plagued him his entire tenure.

Also Collins has the ability to get to the rim better than Eli and should see the floor a little bit more.

Collins has shown the…

Collins has shown the ability to do this all season. You didn't need to play him for the rest of the game, just a minute or two while you still had a lead.

It wasn't particularly great…

It wasn't particularly great last year, either. He just doesn't seem to be able to make adjustments when things break down.

After he fell for a third…

After he fell for a third straight time I couldn't believe he kept him in and didn't put Collins in for a min to let Devante regain his composure.

All I want is for Juwan to…

All I want is for Juwan to use timeouts better.

I don't think it's going to…

I don't think it's going to be, but it would not shock me if this whole thing is just another weird Harbaugh being like Bo thing.

Harbaugh isn't Nick Saban,…

Harbaugh isn't Nick Saban, Dabo, etc. He's a great coach, but the quality we love about him is that he's "our guy." Leaving for the NFL after beating OSU for the first time kind of undermines the premise of being our guy. This whole charade kind of does.

I hope he stays, but he's really been more of a builder, so I could see him leaving.  We'll be fine. After leaving Stanford, they went on to win 3 Pac 12 titles and 4 division titles, playing in the Fiesta and 3 Rose Bowls.

The 49ers were back in the Super Bowl 6 years after. I think we can be confident that Warde isn't going to hire Jim Tomsula.

Chris Petersen, Dave Aranda,…

Chris Petersen, Dave Aranda, Josh Gattis.

Maybe this is crazy, or…

Maybe this is crazy, or maybe it's been said on here countless times and I haven't noticed, but I don't understand the clamor. I like Harbaugh and I'm glad he finally broke through, but he's not Nick Saban. This is his home, if he doesn't want to be here, what exactly are we hoping for? The longer this goes, the worse it seems. The hope is that this is a ploy to get more NIL, which it being Harbaugh, could be very likely.

He should be considered a…

He should be considered a walk on, right?

I do not like Urban one bit,…

I do not like Urban one bit, but this whole thing is so obviously manufactured the NFL "protect the shield" types protecting its turf from a legendary college coach. Half the NFL acts like this. Most of the posts about it here are sour grapes over turning OSU into a monster.

I do not understand why fans…

I do not understand why fans would care about markets for television. We should be rooting for the most fun matchups. In basketball that's Kansas. In football that's Notre Dame. What makes college sports fun is that it's regionalized, which sparks rivalry, neighbors goading neighbors, family, etc.

Bringing in Pac 12 teams that have little to no cultural ties makes it much more like a minor NFL and NBA league: sterilized.

The football TV money comes from ESPN/ABC/Fox. Unless you're adding a massive market like USC or ND or something, it doesn't matter. They'll just take whatever the big game is that week.
