What's Your Tailgate Drink?

Still have to decide for mine tomorrow. What's everybody drinking?

Crappy, light keg beer with too much foam. And a bottle of Jim Beam or Jack Daniels in your other hand. Get a fifth; share it with friends, put the rest in your jeans and dump it into your Pepsi once you get in the stadium. That's usually my plan of attack. Or, alternately, buy a pint for the whole "illegally drinking in the stadium" part. Easier to sneak in. Though if you get caught- and my buddy did when they spotted a bulge under his sweatshirt- they kick you out. So...yeah. Maybe just the fifth and the cheap beer and don't drink during the game. Whiskey + Beer + Football = good times.

Beer is number one but I also make a drink called Apple Pie where I boil 2qts apple juice, 1 gallon apple cider and 1 jar of cinnamon sticks for an hour and then after it cools I add one liter of Everclear (for those who don't know Everclear is 190 proof and I have to go to Indiana to buy it) But it is yummy for a little dessert after the hotdogs and brats!

Before the game? Nothing. After the game? My handle of Black Velvet (because I am a poor college student). Maybe Bacardi or Sailor Jerry's and Coke if I find someone to split a fifth with me.

Keep it local with either Bell's Oberon (in warmer weather, like now) or the aptly-named Wolverine Beer ($7.99/6-pack @ Busch's). For colder games, toss in the occasional shot of Hot Damn Schnapps.

Where can you get Yuengling? I've been jonesing for some Vitamin Y since I moved back to Michigan from Florida. I'm in GR, Bell's stuff can be found just about anywhere. It's damn good though. Two-hearted is to die for.

behind the bar of my wolverine shrine is stocked with Wolverine Beer. I wouldn't have it any other way. I have a game day party every week and some of the guests and closest friends don't care for it so I have to have other stuff to. After a victory we break open the handle of Captain.

No Beer because it makes me have to pee every 15 minutes... and there is nothing worse than having to piss while in Michigan Stadium during a close and stressful game. So, it's Jameson on ice at the tailgate before the game, whatever I can get my hands on after the game

I try to live up to every Michigan stereotype possible. Mimosas until I can't feel my tongue, some Pinot, and once I'm too drunk to care, High Life until game time.

The last few years I've started out with Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, then switched off to whatever was there. This year I had a Corona with Bacardi Limon added, which was good but only proves the point that the only way to make Corona decent is to add shit to it.

Start off with a round of friends, about 8 bottles total of MD 20/20 and Boone's Farm. Slip in a pint of cheap vodka for vomit-induced laughter. After that - bud light. Goes down smooth. Jagerbombs if you want to get blacked.

Depends on the time of day. If it is a noon kickoff, I do Jager Mary's. Bloody Mary with Jager instead of the vodka. Sounds nasty, is very tasty. After noon or so, I stick mostly with beer.

Favorite drink of A Clockwork Orange author Anthony Burgess. Mix in a pint glass one shot each of gin, whiskey, rum, port and brandy. Fill the rest of the way with stout, then top with a splash of champagne. Very tasty. Of this magical drink, Burgess supposedly wrote, "It tastes very smooth, induces a somewhat metaphysical elation, and rarely leaves a hangover." I can confirm the metaphysical elation; however, the no hangover part is a total crock.

Well now instead of running with one glaringly outstanding idea, I'm going to want to spend my entire paycheck on booze tomorrow (and get someone to go to Indiana for apple pie drinks). Probably end up with something delicious on the rocks to start, then go to beer. That should get me in prime shape for 3:30. Go Blue!

A good friend recently gave me a sweet gift: A 5L mini-keg of Paulaner Hefeweizen. I've been saving it. Tomorrow is the day! Also... I posted this on a previous thread, but it's so tasty that I'm posting it again. I usually have a couple to start the day. Chocolate Cake Shots: - Equal parts Absolut Citron and Frangelico. - Lemon slice dipped in powdered sugar (you can use granulated sugar, but I like powdered cuz it's smoother) Drink a shot of the Citron/Frangelico mixture, then bite the sugar coated lemon. The resemblance to chocolate cake is uncanny.
