Our cat would be Gabe Watson. Freakish athleticism and burst for a creature that large.

Not to mention it would be like his 7th year.

All of this from using the word ‘fickle’ in response to a question about the possibility of there being more buckeye fans than Michigan fans this Saturday. And a relatively insignificant question at that.
Let’s think about this. Was Hoke simply expressing how disappointing it would be if this situation materialized on Saturday, for the players, especially the seniors who are playing their last home game? Or in that second he had to form a response to the hypothetical, do people really think he was going over pricing schemes/increases in his head and trying to take a shot at the fans regardless?
Not sure the context of which he was responding to the question requires a tantrum. Come on, man.

I was directly speaking to #2 here. Not sure where the confusion is.
|20 weeks 1 day ago||Completely agree.||
If you were planning on going to the game when the team was performing closer to your expectations and are no longer planning on doing so because they are not, I believe that is the definition of fickle.
A lot of people were crying out for Hoke to give them something at his press conferences, and now they're complaining because some small part of what he did say is true and they don't like it?
Seems quite simple to me. If you like the University of Michigan football team then go to the game on Saturday if you were planning on doing so. If you don't want to go anymore solely because of how they're playing, that's your choice but don't cry about being called fickle. Yes, tickets are expensive but you already made arrangements to go. Are we only supposed to support the team when they are playing well?
|20 weeks 2 days ago||Upvote!||
Really wish I could upvote this. I don't agree with everything Dave Brandon does, but I also don't feel like much of it impacts a lot of things about the gameday atmosphere that I've enjoyed my entire life and what I can see my nephews/niece continue to enjoy.
It is frustrating that a loss on a fall Saturday makes the following week more difficult, but I wouldn't trade my Michigan fandom for that of any other team. I understand everyone has their own way of being a fan, but in the end isn't the fun part of being a fan about supporting the team/university that we all identify with in some way?
|20 weeks 2 days ago||Watching the team struggle...||
Watching the team struggle this year and in recent years has been frustrating, sure. But each season also has its excitement and regardless of the ups and downs is something I will always look forward to. I admit some of the stadium experience has changed but I’m not sure if any of that would have impacted the development of my initial love for Michigan and does not significantly impact my love for it now.
Nothing beats the atmosphere of Ann Arbor on gamedays, the tailgating with other friends/fans/alumni, the nostalgia of visiting campus, and simply the overall sentiment that everyone is supporting the Maize and Blue. Not much has changed when you hear Carl Grapentine’s voice, the band taking the field, the excitement of the players as they rush the field and touch the banner, hearing the band play The Victors, or any of the countless other gameday traditions that make going back enjoyable.
In the end, it is still a group of student athletes that work extremely hard to represent the University we all passionately associate with, and for the most part represent it very well on and off the field. This is the reason I will always be excited for football season and is also the reason I plan on getting season tickets for the first time since being a student next year. Yeah the schedule isn’t great and we’d all like the team to be performing better, but I will always support the University of Michigan and sincerely hope (/know) most of you will be there this coming Saturday and next season. Win or lose, Michigan football has provided some of my greatest memories and I have no doubt will continue to do so.

Just two weeks ago at the Big Ten Media Days Kickoff Luncheon, they had about an hour before the actual event where each team had a booth with the players/coach and attending fans could line up to meet/talk/get autographs from them. It was a cool way to meet some of the players and get a quick autograph and also be in the same room with player representatives and coaches of all of the other Big Ten teams.
It was hard not to notice a pair of guys who clearly weren't fans of any of the schools, but were rather shamelessly lugging around 3 or 4 large duffel bags filled with gear from different Big Ten teams and collecting autographs. It was apparent they were pro's at this with their system they had set up and in a packed hotel lobby they weren't concerned with how many kids/fans they were bumping into with their large bags.
Numerous people made comments to each other and it did cast a "shady" shadow on an otherwise great event, but it was clear these guys are everywhere. While most kids/fans were just getting something signed for their personal collection, guys like the two mentioned are probably at every event with access to players/coaches (that are open to the public, my guess is these two simply bought tickets to the event) and the players/coaches doing the signing have no way of telling what the persons intentions are with the autograph, they're just trying to make a fans day and aren't being compensated in any way.

Chicago to Mackinac kickoff event/boat parade this past Saturday, it was a really cool event and there were a number of boats representing Bayview in Detroit. I would defintely recommend it.

I recently tried to buy tickets outside of the stadium for the home Penn State game in February (game was sold out). There were people selling, but asking $80 per ticket for nosebleeds and $150 per for lower sections. And that was for Penn State. Granted it was the rededication of the Crisler Center so that definitely made it tougher.
Good problem to have for the team though. When I was there in the early 2000's they rarely, if ever, sold out. Good luck and Go Blue!
