2003:   Michigan went into Sparty stadium and beat #10 MSU 27-20. Chris Perry ran for 219 yards on 51 carries and John Navarre was 17-31 for 223 and 3 touchdown passes. Braylon Edwards caught 7 passes for 103 yards and two scores

What a great *comeback. Definitely exciting, but one of those 2003 Minnesota/2008 Wisconsin/ 2011 Notre Dame team don't show up until the fourth quarter when they mount a HUGE comeback and escape by the skin of their teeth games. The first three quarters made you want to murder someone...

After years of listening to fans apologism and Sparty nut hugging about this comment it comes to mind that Mike Hart is everything right about Michigan football.

Please, new "Ira and Nicki Harris" head football coach at the University of Michigan, hire this man.

MIke Hart is not everything that is right about Michigan football. Go back and listen to Dantonio. I agree with him. He says ''If they want to make a mockery of it, so be it. Their time will come.''

The attitude people take towards the Michigan State game even still is just arrogant and frankly ridiculous.

We still have guys like Denard and Toussaint calling them little brother and it makes us look stupid.

Dantonio was referring to Michigan players having a "moment of silence" on the 50-yard line at Spartan Stadium after beating him in 2007, which was a response to his joke about having a moment of silence for Michigan after they lost to Appalachian State. That comment came when Mark Dantonio had just coached his first game at MSU and had yet to coach so much as a snap in that capacity against Michigan, against whom the program he'd inherited was on an 0-5 slide. Hart's comments were in reply to statements made that week by Javon Ringer and Jehuu Caulcrick.

MSU has indeed taken control of this rivalry, I'll never take that away, but the narrative that MD is getting "retribution" for Michigan's "mockery" of his program is irritating as all goddamn get-out, primarily because it's horseshit.

one thing that seems to not get mentioned much as it gets overshawoed by the whole "little brother" comment stuff, is Hart KILLED Michigan St.   Back in the 2005 game he was not even close to full-speed yet ran all over a MSU team that was being hyped up by Heisman candidate (at-the-time) Drew Stanton.  And then in 2007 he crushed them too.

49-3 game was great... michigan had a point to prove in that game since it was the year after the "sparty bob" game... i think that lloyd had some disdain for bobby williams and showed it in that game...

I still have a picture of my wife and I (girlfriend at the time) at the game. The picture in the background was 42-3 on the score board. We missed the first score of the game (MSU's field goal) and were there for the next 49.  Weird to look at the picture because the stadium is pre renovation and it was the Blue Out game which did not end up looking great.

Friend was running late who was coming from out of town and when we got there we were down 3, which was quickly rectified when we rattled off the next 49 and shut them out the rest of the way. I think I still have that long sleeved 'Blue Out' shirt somewhere.

That was the first M game I ever attended and it was glorious. As I was leaving the stadium, some pissed off MSU fans were saying, "These fans are so classless and this stadium is a dump. I'm never coming back to this shit hole."

where a MSU fan held a "Fire Bobby" sign over the tunnel as he was walking out of the stadium and a reporter asked him if he lost the team or not.  Is a Michigan fan going to do the same thing this Saturday?

The best performance for Michigan vs msu was back in 2014 when a severe underdog went into East Lansing and beat the division leading spartans 31-27 with Devin Gardner throwing for 256 yds and running for a crucial TD late in the 4th quarter on a 4th and 2 from the msu 7 yd line.

And there was much rejoicing

I definitely am. In the other universe, I'm a retired dot-com millionaire who's married to a Miranda Kerr-lookalike, and Dave Brandon just delivered a pizza to the front gate.

Now that I think about it - what the hell am I doing on this side of the space-time continuum?

42-0.  I don't think the game was on TV so I must have been listening on the radio.  One of my friends was a MSU fan and she bought a T-shirt before the game (a Green one).  The person at the store said she could come back and have the score put on the shirt. She was so excited - that was until the game started.

At one of the hockey games at Yost that year we were being pummeled by Staee.  My roommate was there and said the crowd started cheering "forty-two to nothing".

In which Chris Perry did his best imitation of a truck.

And then the one time John Navarre went back to pass, he got sacked, fumbled, and suddenly a ho-hum Michigan blowout got too close for comfort.

Good times.  Didn't realize they were #10 at the time.

God I loved that game. Dantonio's first year and he so tried to pull a Tressel by placing all attention on the Michigan game from the start of his tenure and M went into that shit stadium and beat them.

Of course now Dantonio owns Michigan, but that is another of many sad stories for the M program right now.

- Desmond getting revenge in 1991

- The crazy outburst of scoring in the second quarter (I think) in 1996. I just remember being at that game, it was close, and a couple turnovers or big special teams plays suddenly turned it heavily in Michigan's favor

- Woodson 1997, that is all that needs to be said there

- 1999 was a great game, even if it didn't turn out in the end

- Perry 2003, as already mentioned

- BraylonFest 2004

- Henne/Hart and Co in 4Q in 2007

Why are we talking about this? Is there some game this week?

I'm not saying he wasn't a good DL coach then (though I have to wonder just what the hell has happened to that skill now). I'm saying it's really great he got his years in as an assistant under Carr, without which he'd have never been considered for HC in 2011.
