The entire field appears to be turf including the mound, which I've never seen before. I'd assume they did it for ease of maintenance purposes. It will be interesting to hear what the players think of it. |

I rewatched the '89 game last week and the thing that I forgot was just how week of a call it was that sent Rumeal to the line. Had the internet been invented by Al Gore yet, the Seton Hall blogs would've been on fire about that call. |

I was 11 in '89 and have seen replays of the game over time but it's interesting what I forgot about the title run. A few things stuck out to me: (1) Scoring. Michigan's lowest scoring game was the final. They scored over 80 in every game, over 90 three times, and put up 102 in the regional final against UVA. (2) The semi-final vs. Illinois featured 33 lead changes. (3) Up 12 in the second half and almost blew it on 6-24 shooting down the stretch. (4) The foul on Rumeal to send him to the line in OT to shoot the eventual game winners was a weak, ticky-tack, hand check. Terrible call. |

The shirt with all the numbered jerseys on it. In 5-10 years it's going to be hilarious to think back to all the guys on the team, especially the bench guys. Hopefully next Tuesday they'll have printed up a National Title version. |

Did last year's B1G title mean nothing? Regular season B1G champs is a culmination of a season's worth of effort. B1G tourney is one, hot weekend. It has some bearing on NCAA seeding and helps if you're a long-shot winner, but for higher eschelon teams the season resume is what the NCAA selection committee looks at.

4 in the first half for sure and 2 early on in the second. I lost track in the second once the game got tense, but it's something I've been watching for since the Indiana game. Other than "Chris Webber would've dunked that", I don't know how you fix it but it's defintiely a problem this team has. |

The problem with all this is after that timeout, State promptly cut down our 8-point lead and tied the game. If you're going to slap the floor, you actually have to play the defense. The much better response is just scoring in their face after they do the floor slap. |
