It's a good opportunity to show what he can do "outside" - without being part of Jim / John Harbaugh's team.   And, there's definitely continuity - the coaching tree - with Macdonald in Seattle.

Let's hope the pipeline keeps brining in younger coaches / assistants that Michigan can leverage in all facets of the game.

Jay should go on a nice little run in the NFL for a few years and then come back to be a coordinator here. I think he’s a great coach and he seems like a “college guy” but don’t doubt he will do well in the pros

I don't think he overlapped McDonald here and isn't a "ravens" LB coach so not sure about that. could see him getting a job with Jim but he seems like such a good recruiter that his biggest $$ value will be in college unless he gets some additional penalties from the NCAA for "interfering" in the investigation
