Man it feels good knowing the good guys won this recruiting battle. It seems like I was this guy a few years ago...
chance of bowl: 13.6%
that was dating Manti Teo....
Wow, that is one unpleasant sounding video.
that sounded like that. I don't think it could pick up the internet though.
This made my whole day. I had my wife watch it and she enjoyed this guy's pain. Thank your for posting. For once we won one of these recruiting battles.
The people from Tennessee who "weren't coaches" who traveled to see Green's announcement. What a shitty drive home that will be!!
Ahhhh, college football.
He actually seems to fake really caring. Not sure why I watched this video. Pathetic for a lot of reasons. Number one, why do people make videos of themselves and then post it? Seriously it's idiotic. Let me pretend to be upset for 5 seconds, then post the video on youtube about it. Like, you really don't have anything better to do with your life? Number two, especially not when the video looks completely fake. Videos like this make no sense to me.
Edit: How does this sound unpleasant or like pain? The dude literally acts sad for like five seconds.
"why do people make videos of themselves and then post it?" It is basically the same reason people cry when a recruit doesn't pick their school.
Which is just as pathetic.
Who the hell films themselves watching it?!
(Our savior? Really?)
I think schadenfreude has its place during the season, but honestly I think it's a little mean-spirited here. We've lost our share of recruiting battles and we've all been disappointed; I understand how the guy feels, though I wouldn't be caught dead flaking out on film (or flaking out off of film, for that matter). But honestly, this is just kinda sad, why rub it in?
Unless he was video chatting with friends he wasn't talking to the only guy who could have posted it is him. He's either a fake or a glory hound, so I don't feel bad.
This has to be fake. Or that dude has way more serious problems than the current mess that is Tennessee football.
Didn't seem that bad. I prob would have felt the same way if he didn't choose Mich...
Does anyone have video of the actual commitment? I was driving and couldn't watch...Thanks!
I should have just kept checking youtube...
I wasn't able to watch Green's presser live, so I'm hoping somebody has a link to his presser?? Please?
EDIT: Nevermind, thanks for posting!
really think they had a chance?? i mean come on all the signs pointed to us
Woodson winning the Heisman over Peyton Manning in 1997. They still haven't gotten over that.
Tell me about it I live in Knoxville and have taken six years of hillbilly "logic" over that.
company that has a plant in Clinton Tn (20 north of Knox.). They all hate the fact that Chuck beat Peyton. I cant wait until Monday to rub it into them about Green.
Hisss naaammmmeee isss Charles!! Never again with Chuck!
It's annoying when the News Sentinel over the summer (when it has nothing to write about) publishes articles about Tennesse greats, or best Tennessee football assisstant coaches of all time.
I give 4.9 FAKES out of 5.
Lol. Your tears are delicious, Vol fan...
The only thing that could've made Green's commitment better is if, Green had faked everyone out and instead leaving the table, while he's addressing everyone the screen starts to slowly rise to reveal the Michigan jersey.
Well Michigan and Charles beat Vols and Manning! It only makes sense that we beat you out on the top RB!!! :)
We need to engage in this back and forth with...Tennessee? Michigan pride is restored...act like you / we belong here!!!
RollDamnTide/wolverine in a bag has finally gone too far and shown his face.
Number one, why do people make videos of themselves and then post it?
This. why do you record this? and post this??
my life seems incredibly interesting and meaningful, all of a sudden, because I'm not that guy taping himself watching the internet. Then I realize I am watching a guy who taped himself watching the internet, and my delusion of fulfillment comes crashing down...
Damn you, interwebs! Damn you!
Vol fans are a little upset.
Some of my favorite posts:
"Good luck in the Big Easy conference where you'll never be heard of again."
"Good luck at Michigan, Green. But you better hope you don't run into Tennessee in a bowl game, otherwise Von Bell or Carl Lawson will lay you out."
"Some kids dont want to play SEC defenses."
"Good Luck to Green at Michigan. Go beat Urban's ass!"
However, the best one goes to this guy...
"He's going to get lazy and put all thqt weight back on like he use to have and wont do crap. I read he was 268 lbs as a freshman in High School. If he don't have the heart to play in the SEC then we don't need him anyway. GO VOLS"
Have consisted of signing day and orange and white games, I don't think Green has much to worry about.
Edit: flipping through a couple of pages of that, you did a good job pointing out the ones to make fun of, and most of them are disappointed, but handling it in a fairly classy manner.
"Good Luck to Green at Michigan. Go beat Urban's ass!" is a great response. It definitely doesn't belong on that list.
I clicked into this thread thinking I was going to read a story about a Vols fan being smooshed under a 1TON weight or trucked by a 5* running back. Somewhat disappoint. Not that I'm into snuff films or anything like that.
This guy is fakin, he just wants to be a you tube star for a minute. He can't act very well.
I'm going to go ahead and call fake on this one.
It's nice to watch a live stream of a commit we have a legit shot with and not be the one screaming at the computer in anger after the decision.
The Redneck Rocker would beat that dude's ass.
TN is a hot mess of a esesee team. at this point, young stars are not likely excited to be playing for butch jones. they wiffed on kifin, and dooley, jones is no sure shot. i realize they will get some talent but i think they are on the bottom trying to get back to past glory. Is there another Tee Martin out there?
Is in a very unique postition because any half-witted coach should be able to recruit there. Their faciities are amazing, they are in the process of builiding new everything on campus, and they have typical SEC hotties roaming campus. The Phillip Fullmer/ Lane Kiffin/ Mike Hamilton thing was like three RichRod situations, each accompanied by the death of a family dog. The analogy between Butch Jones and Brady Hoke could be pretty strong (except that Butch doesn't have any history here). Recruits have been raving about him and his staff. If the school can somehow better mesh its so-far so-so quest to be a Top 25 university with athletics-- and if the Athletics department can dig itself out of debt-- they could go back to the top pretty quickly. I would expect that Butch Jones (note: every time I type his name it comes out "Bitch") will have a top 15 Class minimum next year.
Love this post as a dual UM/UT fan. Been a rough go for my boys down south as of late
Butch Jones has been successful everywhere he has been and I expect he will have some success at Tennessee. They just need to give him the time because this year's class is very average so far. It is very difficult when you have Bama, Georgia, LSU, Florida and South Carolina out recruuiting them every year.
For whatever reason, Tennessee's athletic department seems to be really bad at hiring and firing coaches. They forced Fulmer out. They hired Kiffin to replace him. They hired Bruce Pearl as their basketball coach. They forced Pat Summit into retirement. They hired Dooley to replace Kiffin. They couldn't close on Charlie Strong and had to settle for Butch Jones to replace Dooley. Either they're in a really bad funk or there's some kind of stupidity-inducing asbestos in their AD building.
For the most part you are right, but they did not force Pat Summitt (yes 2 t's) out. She and her son made the decision to step down.
The Kiffin and Fulmer decisions belong to Mike Hamilton who is also gone now.
Pat Summitt says she felt forced out as Tennessee coach after diagnosis
Pat Summitt says Tennessee didn't force her out
This kid looks gorgeous in BLUE.
Somebody please find a clip of Stu Douglass with the two-hand jam against the Vols.
Wait for it - 3...2...1...
