This guy is oblivious to the fact that what he has been doing (or allowing) for over the past 20+ years is wrong.  I guess you can partially contribute this to the culture in Ohio.  They take their sports like football and basketball very seriously and they have a win at all costs attiutude.  I could never picture Coach Hoke or Coach Carr saying something like this.

So I'm a resident of Columbus. Asks for forgivness of my sin* I awoke from a two hour nap to a flash thunder storm around 20:00 (8:00 PM). I get on the ol laptop to find that Tressel made this statement. I look at the time stamp of the article and it reads 19:45 (7:45 PM). I'm usually not superstitious, but I think hes just awoken "Ohio" hating god. Please oh please bring about a reality check for these delusional people living in this state that root and still support this poor example of a football program. Im going to remember this moment and what was said. I think "Ohio's" luck is going to run out on the field just like it has off of it. That is all.... And GO BLUE!

This is my first comment on all of the forums I stalk about the OSU situation.

The only thing I have to say is:  It is embarrassing to be an Ohio State fan. Absolutely embarrassing.

GTFO out of here with that crap. It's finally been brought to light that you're an absolute scumbag of a person and there's no need for people like you to be apart of the greatest rivalry in college sports.

Tressel's apologists will make an Ohio folk hero out of him.  They will make it seem like it was everyone else who cheated, but not Tressel.  They will portray him as a victim of the NCAA, or as a "brave man of integrity" who "fell on the sword for his players."

And when TSIO can't cheat and the rivalry swings back toward Michigan, Tressel will become an even more legendary figure in Ohio.  As long as the rivalry swings back to Michigan, they can kiss his ring all they want.

I mean, if Tressel was walking in front of your car and you had a guarantee you'd get away with, tell me you wouldn't step on the gas. What a complete and utter waste of human life this man is.

Random rant: Stupid Buckeye fans supporting  Jim Tressel. These are the same people who read his books about integrity and ethics, which he was writing when he was lying to the Feds so he could try to win a national championship. I bet these fans are the same ones who buy cars for the athletes.

What a laughable tosser. Lying, cheating hypocrite followed by kool-aid drinking deluded zeros.

Wipe those records clean, and bring on the show-cause. Then this pathetic self-aggrandizing jerkoff can wank to his dvd collection of 'beating' us with all those ineligible players for the rest of his tattered and stained life.

Paint this up on a shutter Brady, and go and kill them in November.

I should start by admitting that I don't know everything that Tressel said at the rally. It appears, though, that he didn't say, "Don attack Terrelle Pryor," "Don't attack Chris Spielman," "Don't attack the student reporters at the Lantern, especially by sending death threats" "Don't attack Ray Small," "Please stop sending death threats to Chris Cicero." What he did say was that OSU will beat Michigan. This is how he chooses to use his platform given all the invective and even threats that are being thrown around in Columbus? I don't claim to be an expert on the subject, but my guess is that Jesus would have chosen differently.

The article says that the OSU faithful did the same thing for Woody Hayes and Earl Bruce.  Apparently this is an OSU tradition:  The rally at the home of the coach we just fired/forced to resign.

Congnitive dissonance is a wonderful college football tradition.

you'll see 5-10 drunken toothless Buckeye fans on his lawn singing "We don't give a damn about the whole state of Michigan, we're from O-HI-O" breaking down in tears during the O-HI-O part. The only thing missing was a friend taking a leak on a Michigan flag in Bruce's front yard. And I always thought the Spielman led headband thing for Bruce's final game was a classy way to honor their coach.... how much should we bet that this year's Buckeyes all get "Jim" tattoos on their foreheads for The Game this year?

full of jobless people. . . who stage a political-style rally, then march to the palatial home of the guy who screwed their rep for years to come, living large on their sad dreams. . . and cheer him. The cancer is metastasizing.
