The NCAA will be the one kicking ass in about two months. We'll do the mop up job.

During Brady Hoke's last stint at U-M, instances of OSU trash talk regarding the big game did not turn out well for the Buckeyes (Glenn and Boston). Let's hope Hoke and Co. make them eat their words again this fall.

Tressel reportedly said, "And you're going to be proud of our young people in the classroom, in the community, and most importantly, in the tattoo parlor in 174 days..."

For years, dating back to Woody, OSU has displayed an attitude and agenda much more closely associated with that of the SEC than the Big X.  They, the fan base, is the main culprit, sharing the same lack of sophistication and the almost insane demand for winning football games, regardless of the refection on themselves or the university is exactly what characterizes the programs and fan bases of the S.E. region of our country.

Woody embarrassed that university so bad merely by his criminal behavior, i.e., swinging at fans, camermen, and ultimately a player from Clemson. All and any of these acts would have led to the firing of any other conference coach, and these actions were in addition to the NCAA sanctions Woody brought to Columbus for illegal recruiting activities, and booster benefits to football players occuring under his watch. It's not illogical to think had OSU beaten Clemson - another cheater at that time - that he would never have been fired. The AD at OSU has always placed all else a distant second to winning, no matter the cost.

A friend of my son, a Michigan resident, is currently employed in Cincinnati. Among his work instructions and "Dos and Dont's" offered by his boss was this little gem, "I think its a good idea you don't mention to anyone you're from Michigan."

They are just a different breed down there, and it's as simple as that. They care not that the success of the last decade is now equated with that of OU under Switzer, USC under Carroll, i.e., asterisked to death and meaningless because they were playing a different game, under a different set of rules. They care only about the historical data found in the record books, and it is why I have been a long-time proponent of wiping out all victories and championships of any type, post documented fact of occurence date of first violation.  Yes, this would also include those victories racked up by the Fab Five.

Playing within the rules is not a suggestion. It's mandatory and just as certain is the fact that you would no longer respect or golf with a friend that you knew to be foot-wedging his ball or turning double bogeys into par, due to the score becoming moot due to the flagrant disregard for the self policing on the course, so too are all victories, no matter the game, if one opts for a win that is anything but. Right is right, and all else is the opposite.

There is no doubt in my mind that OSU would be just another program if it were in the SEC instead of the renegade of the Big X it has always been. Hell, Jim Tressel, due to the violations at YSU, would not have even been considered for the Michigan job. That fact alone tells any one interested the huge disapirty of "sense of fairness" and priorities that exists between OSU(all and anyone associated thereto) and most all other conference members.
