OT: Top 3 schools you would like the Football team to schedule a future Home/Home against

Submitted by Blue Baughs on

Pretty self explanatory. What 3 programs would you like to see Michigan schedule a future home/home series against.

Keep in mind we already have future tilts scheduled against Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, VT, Washington.

Mine in no particular order

LSU
Clemson
Stanford

I can give teams for your list. But it doesn't really matter what I think. The question is, what is the AD going to do?

FTR, I would take virtually ANY top 10 - 20 team in a home and home.

I will always have ND in there. Why? Because of the history, the location, etc.

Beyond that, I'd take:  Stanford, UCLA, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Tennessee. I guess I'd take whoever would schedule in a good way for us, and whoever would structure this in a good way financially for the team.

Stanford/Cal, Miami (YTM), Georgia. Those are teams who we don't have scheduled to the best of my knowledge. I want to see match-up with teams in regions that we want to recruit in. EDIT: Didn't realize first commenter picked exact same schools lol.

Would like to see the out of conference games rotate between the SEC, PAC-12, BIG 12 & ACC.  Think it would help the College Football Playoff to have direct data points between conferences every year.  Home & Homes in back to back years rotating through each conference.  Need to throw ACC in there somewhere too but you get the idea.

Year 1 & 2:

1) Alabama

2) USC

3) Oklahoma

Year 3 & 4:

1) LSU

2) Washington

3) Texas

Year 5 & 6:

1) Georgia

2) Stanford

3) Kansas State

I'm sorry but you have to have 1-2 cupcakes on the schedule. All of you clamoring to play elite schools during the season are just asking for Michigan to never win a title again.

Sure the committee rewards the teams that schedule tough teams, but playing multiple big time programs on top of ND, OSU, PSU, and Wisconsin is too much. The guys would be spent physically and mentally by the time the end of season rolls around.

No need to schedule top non-conference competition when playing in the Big Ten. People have already been complaining about the 2020 schedule at Washington and Virginia Tech. Also want to avoid getting called out for playing a weak non-conference schedule. So I would focus on recruiting locations and mid level teams.

If we do well this weekend against Air Force, I say go ahead and bring on Georgia Tech. and if we don't then nevermind lets move on.

FAU - Hotbed for recruiting and should Lane Kiffin actually last more than a year or two would be a ton of fun kicking his ass!

UAB - Another way to stick it to Alabama without actually playing them.

Others would be Duke, Wake Forest, Houston, Baylor, California, Kentucky

Save the Alabama, Clemson, USC, FSU's of the world until the college football playoff!
