OT: Top 3 schools you would like the Football team to schedule a future Home/Home against

Submitted by Blue Baughs on

Pretty self explanatory. What 3 programs would you like to see Michigan schedule a future home/home series against.

Keep in mind we already have future tilts scheduled against Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA, VT, Washington.

Mine in no particular order

LSU
Clemson
Stanford

Stanford - Obvious Harbaugh future / past
Florida State - Rematch, plus elite early test
Tennessee - Tremendous game day experience, plus head to head recruiting boon when we thrash them

First off...

Keeping the series vs. Washington - great program building (I live in Seattle)

Oregon... I mean, winnable and the last time around - yikes!

Texas, always gets a ranking - winnable...

As a brand, would love to see our "winnable games" start involving some better schools in our pedigree again - N. Carolina, Virgina... Cal... even the LA schools...

This is how our nonconference schedule should ALWAYS look imo: - One mid-size school that is not a military academy. (Cincinnati, Eastern, Hawaii, etc.) - Notre Dame (Alternates per usual but can we please find a way to balance this game with MSU/OSU on the home schedule) - One Power 5 (mostly SEC) team (changes after two game home and homes) Ideas: LSU, Georgia, Florida, etc. NO NEUTRAL SITE GAMES. Am I crazy to suggest this? I think this makes perfect sense and compromises between all the wants and needs of Michigan's nonconference schedule.

LSU

Arizona (with RR)

Toledo (Home) / Mississippi (Away) -

So Hugh Freeze can be close to home and spend more time with his family.

Toledo is my alma mater so I want them to get another pay day.

would be a very good choice. Great program and academics and playing in target rich California. Keep it along the lines of playing where the recruits are:

FSU

Texas

Stanford, for reasons both selfish (I live on the SF Bay Area and would attend a road game against Stanford come hell or high water) and non-selfish (Harbaugh coached there, it's a Pac-12 power, I like the Rose Bowlish feel of the matchup, etc).

Gotta go with the classics,

ND-because duh

USC-Old Rose Bowl nemesis

Bama-Kind of an outlier, but playing marquee games at the beginning of the season can't hurt exposure, plus I'd like another shot at them after Hoke in Jerryworld

One is already covered: Va Tech.

I will do everything in my power to attend the home in 2020 and go to Blacksburg in 2021, I've always wanted to be a part of Enter Sandman out there.

As for the other two, I say Texas and Stanford.

Despite Texas' current standing, a home and home down the road between two of football's blue bloods would be amazing. Stanford for the easy Harbaugh storyline but also it's two of the top academic institutions facing off in football. I would love to take a trip to Austin and another to Palo Alto for some Meeeechigan Football.
