A happy Scott Frost day to all who celebrate.

Hope they give him the Lane Kiffin treatment on the tarmac in Dublin

Am I the only one here who doesn't hate Nebraska? Yes I know, 1997 and Scott Frost's mom and outhitting and all, but their program has basically fallen off a cliff. Their fans are really nice folks (despite being just a tad bit delusional) and Lincoln is one of the most welcoming environments for visiting fans of opposing teams. There are many, many more unlikeable programs out there.

Yes, you are.  Tom Osbourne was a sanctimonious slime-ball.  He made his name beating up cupcakes and in nearly all but a 2 great seasons they were generally beaten up by any significant OOC foes in bowls. They had a generational option QB in Tommy Frazier, and other than that didn't really do anything of consequence except steal half a title by cheating, whining, and beating up on college Peyton Manning (and who didn't do that?).

I'm with you. It's fun to have some good teams in the Big Ten West, and for the reasons you suggested, I was kind of happy to have "legitimate power program" Nebraska join the Big Ten. Same as I'm feeling now about USC. I don't actually need every other Big Ten program to be Maryland, and I think Nebraska fans have suffered a hell of a long time at this point.

(Though I was cheering for Northwestern this week).

They seem like generally nice people (the fans) but I'll never forgive Big Red for all the whining they did at the end of the '97 season. That championship should've been Michigan's across the polls. Related, I will never forgive that hillbilly Phil Fulmer. One other thing: Woodson was a better and more impactful player than Manning.

Woodson was 3-0 against OSU. Manning was 0-4 against Florida. These were the “can’t spell ‘Citrus’ without ‘UT’” Vols. You want to win a Heisman, you have to win the big games.

Then Manning graduates and UT wins the national championship.

That 2005 Alamo Bowl was the worst case of officiating in the history of football as far as I know.  OSU was short was far more significant, but the missed calls were so frequent (7 by my count (2 in M's favor) and I missed the first quarter) that the commentators were making comments that they are generally not supposed to make.

Both my brothers went to Penn State and they were very disappointed when PSU joined the Big Ten.  They flat out said that Penn State would crush the Big Ten every year, only to be locked into the Rose Bowl without a shot at the NC game.  It was a big step down to them.

Then I remember that time that we beat them 9 games in a row.
