I have taken the bullet for the rest of the board. Wandered over to RCMB. They are underwhelmed with the hire. They seem to be slowly accepting reality.
He's probably a good guy who will help keep them out of the basement.

I hate to defend Sparty slappies, but Parker was an All-Big Ten DB for MSU. While imagining he longs to return to the banks of the Red Cedar now is a bit of pipe dream, I think it falls short of full-on delusion.

This has been my favorite. MSU fans were so determined that Urban was coming to save their dumpster fire team. Urban flat out says no midway through the season, and sparty doubles down. They legit thought they were getting urban, let alone a chance, after he said no. Lololol. Sparty gonna sparty.

Meh. Rossi should be an upgrade to Hazelton with solid, competent defense but not a splash hire.
MSU will still struggle on defense with their lack of talent. Unless the portal yields 8-10 good defensive players, they won’t create pressure or cover teams with competent passing.

Rossi runs a 3-4. To me this makes sense. On that side of the ball MSU can now pitch differently to local recruits. They won't be looking for the same shaped skillset in the front 7 and will be able to tell some kids EL is a better fit.
Of course now every front 7 defender on their roster has to ask themselves whether its better to stay or go.

I said it after their loss to James Madison, Izzo looked exhausted in the post game. but even more he looked tired of the sh!t. after tonight’s loss at Nebraska, who they havent lost to since 2016 (11 straight), he walked off the court with the body language that he was tired of it. They are 4-5 and he’s not looking like someone willing to rebuild this team.

appeared very deflated in post game presser, mostly staring down at notes while talking into the mic and rubbing temple and forehead. "looks like we’re going to have to do some restructuring" when talking about his post defense. I don’t think he has much left in the tank and he’s already exasperated by this edition of MSU basketball. He did complement and credit Fred Hoiberg and Nebraska just before ending the presser.

I hope MSU hires a bunch of coaches who shape that team into one that plays hard but is not dirty and/or borderline criminal. It would be nice to dial back the hate and (MSU) thuggery in the rivalry, although it seems unlikely that a substantial segment of the fan base will ever be able to let go of the hate.

I'm predicting Sparty will be lucky to finish in the top 8 of the new Big Ten Super Conference. They had their once in a lifetime run with Mork but now it's back to 20-30 years of irrelevance with the occasional 8-5 season.
