Moderator Action Sticky
Brian has requested that instead of deleting each individual comment in the Moderator Action Sticky, that we instead just create a new thread. It takes hours of less time, preserves the comments for future explanations, and just clears things up faster.
You'll notice that the previous thread is now locked, and will slowly fade back into darkness. For the time being, the link from the Useful Stuff menu will point to the wrong location. We're working on a fix for that.
This thread is an ad-hoc way of tracking what threads and comments get removed. Mods that remove a thread should post the title here with a brief reason as to why the thread is gone.
NOTE: if you leave an irrelevant comment in this thread it will be deleted.
Snowflake, not going well either.

"THJ Declared For NBA Draft"
You are free to post this thread when there is credible information behind it, but saying that his best friend said so and failing to post any credible source material warrants the removal of the thread.

Yeah...not going well. I'm not a believer in MGoBoard's Sparty obsession, but this would be a piece of evidence to support that theory.

Looking for your mod action sticky on "Alternate Ending".
First time ever posting in "public" for a ruling on a ban, but here it goes: Six posts, all of which included scUM (that's the biggest factor, and honestly someone with 6/6 posts with o$u would be close too) and a karma value of -1. Also, calling a couple long-time posters (yes, including mod LSA) delusional with nothing or close to nothing to back it up doesn't really sit right either.
Probably just a random troll, but I did want to get the message out that rival fans are never banned for being rival fans supporting their team. Be polite, don't call names, back up what you have to say and you'll be respected here, no question.

Should be a comment in any of the open threads for the spring game.

Thx. Keeping an eye on him -- seems just an accident as it was all running basketball commentary.
But the fact that suddenly a number of long dead threads suddenly were double posted in at the end of them. And most of that were like one sentence comments.
If they're replies to other remarks (even belatedly) or just a series of comments in, say, an open thread, it doesn't stand out. But when someone can't help double posting multiple times with 6 word comments in threads that haven't been commented on in a week that stood out in my posted box.
Only one post thus far but it's clearly a bot:

Do your worst, mods.
handled thx.

You, after all, would know more about their evil than I would.
So, to follow up, would it have been better just not to link to that Peppers video, because of where it was found?
Naw. It was interesting. But I'm still not sure it wasn't from somewhere else. In general be very wary is all.
Imbed any video if possible; Block quote Relevant/informative passages, using the link ( Don't Click Bleacher Report).
We can differentiate between BR and Ace Williams.
BR has some good stuff sandwiched amongst the crap. Ace Williams has a bunch of crap sandwiched amongst other crap. He literally makes up libelous stuff that is almost always unverifiable by standard techniques (because he "has a super-secret source"). He's never right. He sucks.
Deleted and forwarded the name of the poster along up the MGoChainOfCommand.

I didn't realize so much time and "paperwork" went into overseeing the MGoBoard. I randomly came across this thread, and I feel like I am involved in a top secret & undisclosed MGoBlog Intelligence Agency meeting. Trolls are found and neutralized. Threads consolidated. "Bloggers of Mass Destruction" who have no credibilty are discussed. Maybe the policy of appeasement isn't working with the BMDs and a counteinsurgency (or indirect smear) campaign should be considered....I'm only half joking. Keep up the good work!
Sometimes we make fun of people too.

OT: The Top 12 Most Consistently Overrated College Football Programs Of The BCS Era, Statistically
The tribe spoke on this one. Given the OP and the rather meaningless statistical methodology employed in the link provided, this can only be construed as an attempt at trolling. Thank you to the MGoUsers who pointed out the flaws in the methodology used in the linked article.

I may be in the minority on this, but I felt it was worth saying: I don't like that the decision is to delete threads like this. My preference would be to just lock them. In my opinion, leaving them out there as an example of the ridicule that ensues serves a valuable deterrent value. Just my two cents.

I'm sorry, but this is terrible modding. The original post had no language in it that implied trolling and there could have been some decent discussions on it. Some people don't like to accept that ND has been to a title game more recently than us and therefore a bunch of people defensively jump to trolling. The proper action would have been to downvote the people crying wolf.
There was nothing wrong with the thread and you cannot deny that if any Michigan fan posted the same exact original post that it would still be up.

This is an embarrassing thread. I would hope that we are above complaining about a recruit's father, but apparently it's fine to gossip about the families of our commits.

Sorry. Didn't see it.

This is it, if you're interested.
ESPN 150 is released
If not for a rush of threads yesterday evening, yesterday's thread on this very subject would likely still be at the bottom of the first page.

If I must...
Umm... what? The post I deleted was just a double-post that the original author changed the title to a more clever version of "Delete this because I posted something that was posted already". I don't think I moderated any articles having to do with Boston.
What is the current MGoPoints/Respect Points exchange rate?
as well. CEFH, can you elaborate? Other than taking points away for political stuff, the only other mod action I can recall is me un-embedding a Vine video and BiSB unlinking some pictures.
Also wanted to add that this is probably the first time I've signed on to five new posts in the mod thread without the board sitting at threat level midnight.
Posted yestersday.
He didn't see the 380 post thread still on the front page?
....at MGoUser request due to trouble with the original link.
(HERE) - this was the link. The workaround in Chrome (which only worked for me sporadically over several trials) is to "X" out of the digital subscriber sign in then arrow back to the original link. If anyone can repost this with the same or similar link, feel free to do so.
Systemic steroid use by an entire team is a really bad thing to speculate without proof.
Sadly the Ferns-Bunting Miss State letters seem like frauds
I think it has been up long enough - the Bunting letter is indeed Photoshopped.
EDIT: I looked at it again this morning - I missed the OP's rather amusing self-deprecating reply. I put it back up. Sorry for that.
Everyone (including the OP, eventually) knew the score, and many of the comments were hilarious. Are you trying to get us to go back to work on a Friday afternoon?
I tried to post "this is my new favorite thread" and it got deleted. Are we still allowed to have fun around here?
so you beat me to the punch here, but it's done now.
Double.
Not a good OP, and I cannot believe I didn't see it when I got back on, sorry it took a bit to get down.
Collins' words about coming out are one thing, an inflamatory reaction (whether in support or disapproval) is an entirely different animal. We should probably avoid posting reactions to the news, as that's almost definitely going to be against the board rules on politics/religion.
Dumb post is dumb, dropped the OP to zero for a while since he probably shouldn't be posting threads.
April 30th, 2013 at 12:47 PM ^
....albeit with a different title.
Michigan's involvement with Adidas settlement
All the same, it is a fascinating topic, but this thread was a few hours too late sadly.
Beat by a just a couple minutes.
Hopefully the OP got the answer he needed (sounds like it, but I can pull answers if anyone needs them) but the kiosk stuff needs to come down eventually.
Too close to the line, even if the comments were fine so far.
