I still say we would have played Georgia straight up in a blockbuster championship game had we not barfed up the first half against TCU.  I'm not concerned with the speed and strength comparisons.  You really think Bama's OL can hold up to Michigan's DL?  Or vice versa?  Not this year it can't...

A major component of Saban's coaching prowess has been his ability to replace the stream of assistants that get poached from his program. He continues to get the physically talented players-it appears as though he has finally missed on replacing some assistants. And for the thousandth time I will note that coaching is just as critical to a team's success as the players. Look what is happening to Dabo at Clemson.

Elite players with poor coaching become average players. And conversely, average players with elite coaching become very good to elite players. The major credit Jim Harbaugh deserves for the ascension of Michigan football revolves around this elite staff of assistants he has assembled. The next several years are going to be most interesting, for Michigan/Harbaugh, if/when these assistants begin getting poached. The (very) good news is that Jim, in his uniquely quirky, genius way, is likely lining up a strategy for a transition.

Texas looked solid but Milroe is just clearly not the Bama QBs of previous years. Feels like the top teams in CFB are generally having a down year across the board

If Bama has another - by their standards - underwhelming year, I wonder if Saban will consider retirement. He's in his 70s now and the whole thing has got to be taxing, especially once there's some negativity in the mix.

Game graphic: Bama’s first regular season non-conference loss at home since 2007.

Commentary during Auburn game: first time in Saban’s entire college coaching career that he lost at home by double digits. That’s insane.

Watched the game and I would take JJ over Ewers any day. His accuracy(ewers) is nowhere near JJ’s. Lots of overthrown passes. Never seemed to get in a rhythm. Hot take but I think JJ will move up to #1 overall if his accuracy continues.

JJ is as good of a passer than Ewers, if not better.  JJ has a stronger arm than Ewers.  JJ is more accurate (so far this season but I think this will be the case at the end too).  And JJ is a running threat...Ewers not so much.

JJ is top 3 QB in college football with Caleb Williams and Drake Maye.  The talking heads aren't really talking much about JJ yet, but they will be.

Some of the few actually impactful things to root for on behalf of Michigan include the SEC being a 1 bid conference. Georgia can run the table, just leave everyone else with 2 Ls!

I don’t see it….the committee already seems to guarantee an SEC spot every year regardless. Every SEC team would have to have 2 losses and every other conference with an undefeated team for this to be even a possibility, and even then, I can hear ESPN talking heads and SEC idiots on twitter saying that an SEC champ deserves to be in.

To them, you don’t win a National championship unless you are:

A. An SEC team

B.You beat an SEC team in the championship game or semis, (and even then they will just say “the SEC was down” or “so and so was injured”.

In the unlikely scenario an SEC team didn’t make the playoff, many in media and social media would be claiming the SEC champ the true national champion.

For this madness of SEC bias to end, there needs to be consecutive years where non-SEC teams beat SEC teams in the national championship game or knock them out in semi final games.

However, after 2 weeks, this is the most parody amongst the top 10-15 programs Ive seen in college football since 2007.

I would love to see a Michigan, USC, Texas, and Florida State CFP this year. Tired of the same old hats getting in year after year. This was a big step toward that.

We may have to start a Freshman QB or get a Joe Borrow type QB through the portal next year when we play Texas. Unless JJ decides to stay for his final year

Welp, Michigan's coaches were completely on the money in their evaluation of Ethan Burke. He looks like he's on a similar trajectory as Hutchinson. Too bad he grew up in Austin and Texas woke up in time to offer him.

If I'm not mistaken, so far the vaunted Ess Eee Cee is 3-6 vs. P5 teams this year.

Their only wins are against UVA, Arizona and Cal - hardly murderers row.

On Reddit an Alabama fan said it’s time to move on from Saban due to his mediocrity. Absolutely hilarious take following 15 straight 10+ win seasons, many SEC titles, and what, 6 national championships?

Part of me hopes they do, and they start going 6-6 to 9-3 for a while. The delusion was shocking.
