Jim Miller: Former MSU QB, Current MSU DB
Former MSU QB Jim Miller lends us his peculiar brand of football wisdom in this pathetic blog post over at Spartans Sports Netwok dot com.
After Michigan squeaked by beating Indiana - who dominated all statistical categories and the game for that matter - Jerry [Hanlon] chalked it up as a team doing enough to win! Since when has Michigan reduced itself to doing just enough to get a win versus an opponent they should have dominated? Mediocrity has never been the mantra of such a storied program, but evidently it is now the standard.
But wait, there's more:
Michigan does not have the players to win the physical battles that they once dominated traditionally. Name me one Michigan defender who is dominant? Name me one offensive lineman? Name me a running back? Oh, my bad, that would be their quarterback Deanard Robinson! Michigan expects a beat down and Michigan State is more than willing to give it!
Yes, what else Jimmy?
Defensively, everyone has been asking me how do you defend Denard Robinson? He is a tremendous player, but he is just one player to defend. I believe his Heisman hopes come to a crashing halt this weekend. Somebody will always have Denard accounted for and they are all guys that can run. They outweigh Denard and all MSU defenders who have the opportunity, will be instructed to deliver punishment. Denard is frail at 180 lbs. You slow players like him down by physical abuse.
And finally:
You have to be a complete team to compete in the Big Ten! You have to be a tough team to compete in the Big Ten! You have to be a dominant team to win the Big Ten! Helpful reminders from "Big Brother" to Michigan about straying from their roots as a football program will be on display Saturday.
Wow. Just wow.

Miller's record against Michigan? I'm guessin' not great.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:01 PM ^
does it stand for bag?
October 7th, 2010 at 6:14 PM ^
From the title, I thought he somehow got another year of elligibility and is now a defensive back.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:04 PM ^
Clearly a stand-up guy and one who's opinion should carry a lot of weight:
Miller never played an entire game at quarterback with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1994-1996) and never took a snap with the Atlanta Falcons (1997). It was not until 1999, his second year with the Chicago Bears, that Miller earned a starting job. That promising season was cut short for Miller when he became the first quarterback to be suspended by the NFL for violation of its substance abuse policy. Miller contended he did not read the label on an over-the-counter dietary supplement containing the steroid nandrolone, a banned substance under the NFL's drug policy. He was suspended for four games at the end of the 1999 season and lost about $100,000 in pay.

Everyone knows what the stakes are. The team is what is is and Saturday it will all play out.
All in for Michigan. GO BLUE!
October 7th, 2010 at 5:05 PM ^
My opinion on this topic is that Jim Miller is poor and stupid, much like NASCAR drivers.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:11 PM ^
NASCAR drivers are definitely not poor. And, maybe most importantly, they have smoking-hot wives!
October 7th, 2010 at 5:15 PM ^
Not a fan of South Park, eh?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
most likely he has ingested too much Vagisil.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:26 PM ^
He has three small vaginas in his stomach, and they're all sparkling clean.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:36 PM ^
is my muse.
October 7th, 2010 at 10:53 PM ^
EDIT: Wolverine beat me to it by only about four hours.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:06 PM ^
Saturday's game is still in question. I can say, without a doubt, that Michigan State will not "Beat Down" Michigan. State may win a close game. They may even win in regulation. But a "Beatdown"? pshhh you wish Jim Miller.
Gird your loins you Spartans.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:08 PM ^
Mike Martin. Splitting double teams since 2009.
Patrick Omameh. Greg Jones will be familiar with him by the end of the game.
Mike Shaw. 5.6 YPC.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:36 PM ^
i hope to see either lewan or omameh ride greg "donkey" jones 15 yds downfield at some point. PLEASE PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN

It's funny how they come out in drones when they win a few games. Next year I bet we never hear a peep out of these bums. Go back to your closet and wait for basketball season!!
October 7th, 2010 at 5:18 PM ^
I think you mean droves, my friend.
Sparty can't start a car let alone launch a drone.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:24 PM ^
Beat me too it. Intensive purposes award.
October 7th, 2010 at 8:21 PM ^
.. is online!!!!!
October 7th, 2010 at 8:27 PM ^
God bless Modern Warfare.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:26 PM ^
Very knowledgeable about things.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
Jim Miller is a complete god damned idiot.
How Sparty of him.
October 7th, 2010 at 6:28 PM ^
Hmmmm...Based on the picture above, he looks like a good QB. He must know what he is talking about when he talks shit about ours.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:17 PM ^
And now we know why he is writing for a radio station instead of working for ESPN like a pair of former UM QBs.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:22 PM ^
One more bad article like this and he will be back to being a fluffer.

October 7th, 2010 at 5:17 PM ^
Who the fuck is Jim Miller?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:21 PM ^
Who acts like a dude but he's not a real dude.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:40 PM ^
Is he a dude, playing a dude, disguised as another dude?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:17 PM ^
Will the whole thing go up on the bulletin board, or just the "highlights"?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:33 PM ^
I doubt any players know who he is, or would give a shit. Would probably be as effective bulletin board material as a NDNaton thread.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:20 PM ^
on Saturday morning, Rich Rod posts every single word uttered by Jim Miller on the locker room bulletin board.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:37 PM ^
If this team ever needed motivation to prove naysayers wrong, this would be the singular piece of writing I'd point to.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:21 PM ^
Can't read can't write!
October 7th, 2010 at 5:21 PM ^
Now that is deep, incisive analysis.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:23 PM ^
After Michigan squeaked by beating Indiana - who dominated all statistical categories and the game for that matter
Nothing screams "domination" quite like getting outrushed by 200+ yards, getting outgained and outscored, never leading after the first quarter, and giving up 12.5 yards per play.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:29 PM ^
Notice there is no ability to comment on the post. What a coward.
EDIT: You can, however, email him at [email protected]. Why wouldn't the email account for his blog be hosted on, you know, the site where the blog exists? That made me laugh out loud.
What a dick.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:46 PM ^
I'm shocked that it isn't a hotmail account.
October 7th, 2010 at 9:42 PM ^
Already sent him my humble rebuttle to his "article". I use the word article loosely.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:34 PM ^
You forgot the Final Score stat!
Edit: No you didn't. I read bad.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:26 PM ^
Who is this Deanard that he speaks of?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:28 PM ^
He's on the Sirius NFL channel every day.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:36 PM ^
Would probably be to wait until after the game, then just read back his post to him.
October 7th, 2010 at 5:39 PM ^
MSU could potentially rush for 400 yards and throw for another 300.
How does a team have 700 yards of total offense and control the clock?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:46 PM ^
This game is being played with 25 minute quarters.
October 8th, 2010 at 11:33 AM ^
Using the Madden rules?
October 7th, 2010 at 5:51 PM ^
Super tired of the "all you have to do is stop Denard" nonsense from lil sister. It's even worse that many of them chirp about "just injure Denard". The bottom line is that if they cheat on Denard, he's going to drop it into one of our WR's. If they injure Denard (an action just as likely to happen to Cousins or any other football player), we have Tate Forcier off the bench. If Tate goes out, they get gashed a 3rd way. Good luck with that.

Todd Collins and JIm are about the same age. Jim's been out of football for about 9 years.
October 7th, 2010 at 6:05 PM ^
Sparty douche in Waterford, MI. He was an arrogant, A-Hole back then too!
One of my fondest memories was when I smacked a three run triple to win the game off of this guy and his dad (the coach of course) went beserk, he cried and my dad (my coach) had the biggest smile on his face that a dad could have for his son.
