Forget about the donation
|4 days 5 hours ago||I doubt that a suspension will occur||
The SEC doesn't want for a precedent to be set that puts Saban and the rest of them at risk. What the SEC wants the NCAA will do.
|4 days 14 hours ago||Probably Washington||
Peterson is a good coach and it seems Oregon may have lost its luster. With continuing doubt about USC coaching, this is a good time for Washington to make a move. Long term though Washington is like UCLA, they will have their years but will not consistently be at the top of the conference.
Tennessee may have its moment, but will get derailed by scandal at some point.
Among the 3, Michigan is by far the most likely to succeed big time.
|6 days 3 hours ago||They are not regional in the||
sense they have aligned with a conference that is not in the Midwest. They are not reliable because they have demonstrated they don't honor the history of the relationship. They dropped us in an insulting way when it served their interest. Now they need us. Fuck them
|6 days 4 hours ago||Oops||
|6 days 4 hours ago||Another reason we shouldn't renew the series||
ND is no longer a regional or reliable rival. We should have moved on.

That was awesome.

I recommend that you go to reddit and check out the Fulmer Cup page. It's a fun read.

So proud to be a Michigan alum.
|1 week 3 days ago||Seriously, how is it that Harbaugh even knows||
Jerry Springer, let alone ending up hanging with him at Disneyland? As they say, you can't make this stuff up.
|1 week 3 days ago||Take coaches out of the game as||
much as possible. Reduce/eliminate timeouts. Make them stay seated or at least stay within a small coaching box. If any coach steps on the court while the game is in play it is an automatic ejection. I could go on. This should apply to all sports.
|1 week 4 days ago||At least Finebaum asked the question||
Over 1000 media members at the event and not a single one asked Saban about this during his Q&A after his speech. Surprised Finebaum didn't get the message not to address this with Saban
|1 week 5 days ago||Yes, because they are all guilty as hell||
One has to suspend all common sense to doubt that all three knew what was going on. You don't need to filter everything through a "beyond a reasonable doubt" test. Given all that has come out does anyone truly believe these assistants didn't know about Sandusky? These guys were around the program for years, even decades, while this was going on. As an employer you shouldn't bring anyone in who was near that cesspool.
As for the why-acts of omission are as bad, and in some cases worse, than as acts of commission.
|1 week 5 days ago||The quick post with the appropriate gif is among the||
most enjoyable part of a thread, especially on a day where the board is full of PSU crimes. Lots of great posters, but for my money ShruteBeetFarms is the undisputed champ in the gif weight class. Thanks for making me laugh.
|1 week 5 days ago||You raise an often missed point||
Pretty high probability that Scott Paterno knew everything. His Dad had to talk to someone about all this.
|1 week 5 days ago||Schiano, Bradley and Johnson||
I agree with all the criticisms and shaming of PSU. Adequate words are hard to find.
This really is an opportunity for institutions to step up and send a message that the world has changed, and that colleges can't and won't have people who do terrible things, or fail to expose those who do, in their employ. There can't be any statute of limitations on this stuff, the question is whether you want people of this character representing your university.
OSU and UCLA need to let these guys go. Pay them if you have to but let them go. It is a test of what kind of university wants they want to be. Nothing will send a better message to the coaching profession, let alone other professions, if these guys get canned.
Sadly, I doubt it will happen.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||The path to excellence||
Let's face it, it will take a while, if not always be a an uphill battle to get to the point where Michigan gets first pick to all the obvious best players. Everything Harbaugh is doing is narrowing the gap but we are still burdened by geography. The ability to identify great athletes and have the confidence and ultimately the ability to "coach them up" is crucial to reaching the highest level of success. 3-4 guys like this is how the gap gets closed
|2 weeks 2 days ago||It's over Larry||
Obviously a great short term coach. Also obvious is that he is a flawed individual. Larry-you are 75, no one will hire you again. This is a weird way for him to go out
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Separate checks should never happen||
It defines someone as not classy. A couple of basic rules: if you are with your friends pick up the check from time to time and let them do it as well. It should even out over time. If it doesn't the guy who is short all the time is a douche and should not be your friend. (Some say when you are young and poor it's okay to split evenly. I can live with that until the group is employed). Rule 2: if you invite someone out for dinner you pay.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Great stuff again||
Makes me proud to be a Michigan grad. Love the series, the style, and the writing. I look forward to the next installment.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||The ND rivalry is much diminished||
I am as much a traditionalist as anyone but I have moved on from ND as an important game for Michigan. F ND. We should not do anything that enables their continuation as an independent. Let them join a conference and play by the same rules as everyone else.

Dumber move by the Bulls.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||I have never been more confident about the future||
of Michigan football than I am today. Harbaugh is a rock star and a coaching genius and it is showing up in recruiting and on the field already. It is all good.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Bad timing?||
Never a good time but is Denard under contract for next year. If not, this incident could spook teams otherwise interested.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Good for him I guess||
I hope he is successful. Which raises the question-what kind of money can one make as "editor of Hokie Haven"?
|3 weeks 2 days ago||When Harbaugh looks at Taylor he||
sees Frank Gore 2.0.. Small, tough, quiet, team guy, hard worker, etc...
|3 weeks 6 days ago||I just read the whole thread and||
I am not sure about the status of Hawkins. Scenerio 1 is that he hasn't achieved ACT scores required for admission but has taken the test again but hasn't received the result. Scenerio 2 is that he has violated team rules and could be suspended. Scenerio 3 is it a combination of 1and 2. Can someone in the know clarify please?
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Just checked in on this piece||
Very nice. Please coniinue on (and invite others to share). The blog should make this a regular feature.
