Before they let this vote go forward didn't anyone at the NCAA think that maybe they should call a lawyer and ask "hey, any legal issues here?"

Obviously. Like many out there, I played at Lakeview Arena. Also old enough to remember when Lakeview replaced The Palestra. Now that was an arena.
Would be great if the Board help push this forward to victory.

greatly inflates the numbers. While there are some out of pocket costs that go with a scholarship, counting tuition, room and board and fees is misleading at a school like EMU. It is not that the football players are taking spots that would otherwise go to others who would be full-paying students. Everyone who wants to go to Eastern can get in. Eastern is not missing any student generated revenue by having a football team.

The reality is that the top talent are increasing three and done. Assuming freshman year is at best an adjustment year you get two years out of guys. To be successful you better recruit guys who have the talent and take to great coaching by their sophomore year are you are in trouble. The best schools today make it work and we should be one of them as well.
|1 week 3 days ago||This of course is correct||
Just enjoy the build up to 2016 and what unfolds.

Springsteen is to the east what Seger is to the Midwest. Seger was better but east coast bias and hype.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Well someone has been lying||
Sounds like lots of coaches told Leach one thing but maybe told their AD's another. I find it highly unlikely that the Pac-12 voted for the ban if 11of 12 members were against it. Leach said that he would find out how the Pac-12 came to its vote. I hope he does-it will be fun to watch.

at his daughter's school, close out by being back stage at a concert. Just another day in the life...
Edit: On stage
|2 weeks 2 days ago||Can you share a couple of details?||
On DPJ, unfortunately I think there will be some revision to the ban/rule and this will become a non-issue in recruiting.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Wow this just keeps getting better by the moment||
We now have "oppressing low-income" people and "rigged voting" on the table, both of which are an affront to the principles of this great nation. I don't know how anybody can stand by and watch the NCAA insult the United States of America!
|2 weeks 4 days ago||It is definitely a shot at Harbaugh||
It is not only a dick statement but also no substance to the comment. He really is an asshoke
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Wilfong nails it||
Point the attention on the coaches and conferences that are responsible and shame them into doing the right thing.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Blame the schools that voted to ban, not the NCAA||
When schools can't hide behind the NCAA and become the target of the backlash the the rule will be change pad back. Probably with some face saving "compromises" so that will be meaningless. Harbaugh is on the right side here and change will come his way. Just need to embarrass the schools and coaches into doing the right thing.
|3 weeks 14 hours ago||Totally agree with this||
Leach said it perfectly
|3 weeks 17 hours ago||Serious question: how does a rule like this get passed?||
Is it an administrative or small group decision or is there some requirement that the rule be reflective of the entire NCAA, for example by vote? If as Brian says, the camps benefit nearly everyone, how does this rule get through?
|3 weeks 5 days ago||The problem with replacing Lloyd||
was not that it was time for the program to move on. Everyone, including Lloyd, agreed with that. The problems come from the hires made to follow Lloyd, not that Lloyd was replaced.
|4 weeks 9 hours ago||He is still a possible replacement||
Even more so if he does well
|4 weeks 2 days ago||Maybe not the height of hypocrisy||
There are many other better examples. That said, under these circumstances to restrict Spikes's options is a very shitty move. The guy gave his best, contributed significantly, graduated, was a great representative of the school, etc. Then Beilein says take a hike but with limitations. As Spike's Dad said it isn't fair. I just lost a lot of respect for Beilein.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||This is my experience as well||
We had two kids attend high school with an IB program. One took the IB route, the other AP. There is no question the commitment required to get the IB diploma was great and interfered with the opportunity to participate in extra curriculars. From our perspective, there was no real impact as to where they were accepted. Both got into great schools.
By the way OP-your daughter isn't "very lucky" as you mentioned. She has these opportunities because her parents made the necessary sacrifices and commitments to make it happen. Keep up the good work.

Maybe he just believes what he is saying. I know it is unusual, but occasionally people, even football coaches, actually give an honest answer.
|7 weeks 5 days ago||Let's him avoid the HGH scandal||
By retiring it allows the NFL to quietly bury the HGH story. This story was a bigger threat than the Tennessee story to Manning's reputation going forward.

Kudos to the AD for being aggressive in dumping Cubic and getting someone with NFL credentials at this point of the year. We'll see how it works out but it looks like a major upgrade to me.
