If you look further down his resume he has extensive investigatory experience.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:45 PM ^
According to a Ryan Day puff piece in the Atlantic a few years ago (about the time Day became head coach) his brother was DEA.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:47 PM ^
Check his LinkedIn.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:50 PM ^
Link?
That would make sense as a "second career" for a guy with that background.
October 29th, 2023 at 9:01 AM ^
Weird. He does not list “4th and 1 Investigations” on his profile. Hmmm. I’ll bet he only had one customer. One TOUGH customer. Arghh!
Lou Holtz better watch what he posts on LinkedIn. His posts are likely being monitored.
October 29th, 2023 at 9:05 AM ^
Yeah, I really wouldn't encourage people to contact him directly.
October 29th, 2023 at 9:06 AM ^
Chris Day: I've got Lou Holtz linked by DNA to several crimes in the South Bend area in the late 1980s.
Ryan Day: How'd you get his DNA?
Chris Day: Are you kidding? It's everywhere!
October 29th, 2023 at 12:36 PM ^
I don't know if "career" is the word I'd use. Am I reading his linked in right? It looks like it's a side hustle while he works a couple of sales jobs.
October 29th, 2023 at 7:55 AM ^
Ok….but is he TOUGH?
October 29th, 2023 at 2:09 PM ^
Is that why the streets are flooded with drugs!
October 28th, 2023 at 11:48 PM ^
He probably has a 600 page manifesto of how he can help his brother keep his job.
October 29th, 2023 at 5:22 AM ^
After watching OSU shit its pants while trying to make it to the crapper last night, that manifesto needs another 100 pages.
October 29th, 2023 at 12:03 AM ^
He seems like exactly the type of guy who would investigate it too. From a 2019 Athletic article:
October 29th, 2023 at 8:46 AM ^
Chris isn’t as big as his brothers, but you know not to mess with him, given his line of work.
That has little mans complex written all over it, and we already know of the insecurities in the Day family.
October 29th, 2023 at 8:55 AM ^
That’s also known as a Tom Izzo Complex.
October 29th, 2023 at 8:50 AM ^
I would be embarrassed if that article were about me.
October 29th, 2023 at 9:49 AM ^
Wow, looks like Scut Farkas.
October 29th, 2023 at 6:48 AM ^
I haven't read the article. Thanks to RobM_24, though, I can safely conclude Day's brother is a clown based on these two parts:
"... he talks about the windows he's broken in his home while enthusiastically watching Ohio State games."
"... I'm in the DEA; I'll protect that shit."
October 29th, 2023 at 12:50 PM ^
What a douche.
October 29th, 2023 at 9:05 AM ^
Sounds like a very stable, level-headed guy. Sort of. Maybe. Or not.
October 29th, 2023 at 10:12 AM ^
Should fit in perfectly with Brian Hartline who calls for violence against U of M fans
October 29th, 2023 at 11:01 AM ^
From the second part, does it pass muster under NCAA rules? Should this not be a violation as well?
October 29th, 2023 at 1:10 AM ^
While I don’t think Day would be stupid enough to use his brother, as that would be just so obvious to track down, his brother’s DEA background, PI experience, and resume make him the perfect candidate to help day find one. Sam Webb doesn’t think Day woudlve used his brother, but the firm is rumored to be located in New Hampshire where Day is from, so it makes sense his brother would call up some people.
October 29th, 2023 at 10:26 AM ^
I'm wondering about this. Would it be easier to track if it were his brother? If he hires somebody else he has to hire him, and that leaves a trail. If Chris Day does it he's doing it pro bono and he's handling things himself.
October 29th, 2023 at 10:43 AM ^
No part of the story so far has made me think anyone is smart or safe enough to NOT use their brother's firm
October 29th, 2023 at 11:10 AM ^
So Ryan Day’s brother is a dick? Shocking
October 29th, 2023 at 12:03 PM ^
Actually it kind of is? Ryan Day's insecurity is amusing and fun to prod, but I haven't heard anything out of his program that indicates it's got the noisomeness of Dantonio or Urban Meyer.
November 1st, 2023 at 10:14 PM ^
You missed the detective joke there
October 28th, 2023 at 11:44 PM ^
Omg, you can't make this shit up. Pete Thamel should be fired from The Athletic. If Warde had any guts Michigan would be on the offensive.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:47 PM ^
Warde will apologize instead
October 29th, 2023 at 12:52 AM ^
call me crazy, but Sam is the program’s mouthpiece more or less right? Would it not stand to reason that the AD gave this to Sam to run? I mean Warde himself would not be out there tweeting this out lol
October 29th, 2023 at 12:56 AM ^
It seems plausible Sam got this from someone at Michigan, yes.
October 29th, 2023 at 7:31 AM ^
I highly doubt this would come from Warde even indirectly. From someone else in UM? Sure. Possible.
October 29th, 2023 at 8:56 AM ^
Warde would in no way share any info. He’s to busy sending fruit baskets to the hotel rooms of the investigators and making sure they have everything they need, and then things they probably haven’t asked for.
October 29th, 2023 at 8:58 AM ^
Why couldn’t Sam have just figured this out and dig it up himself?
October 29th, 2023 at 9:39 AM ^
He could! Either is possible.
I can't read his blog post about it so I don't know what he wrote. Maybe on WTKA tomorrow he will say if he heard from someone or if he just had the idea to check on Chris Day.
October 29th, 2023 at 7:18 AM ^
Pete Thamel works for ESPN
October 29th, 2023 at 9:16 AM ^
You spelled Ryan Day and Ohio State wrong.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:46 PM ^
If you can't win, get your brother to creep on your biggest rival.
October 29th, 2023 at 8:36 AM ^
lol this could LITERALLY be the biggest “Little brother” move ever!
October 28th, 2023 at 11:46 PM ^
Called "4th and 1 investigations", one can only assume they only investigate football related cases? What a weird name if not.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:49 PM ^
The original name, "45-23 Investigations" upset Ryan too much
October 28th, 2023 at 11:56 PM ^
I heard Ryan wanted it to be "4th & 1 Jet Sweeps" but Chris thought that was too tough.
October 28th, 2023 at 11:59 PM ^
Ironic that Ohio has a problem with Michigan "spying" on opponents at games when the Day family literally spies on us. Hypocrites and losers.
October 29th, 2023 at 12:02 AM ^
Absolutely classic name.
October 29th, 2023 at 12:04 AM ^
It's seriously called 4th and 1 investigations? After their most memorable win against us since 2006 came on a questionable 4th and 1 conversion they didn't make, in a game they clearly paid the refs? And now they're investigating us for (probably not) cheating? Wow.
October 29th, 2023 at 12:34 AM ^
We know how it worked out for OSU last time they went with 4th and 1 against Michigan.
October 29th, 2023 at 5:14 AM ^
"Born on Third Base Investigations" was already taken.
