I thought so too. If you take most struggling programs in the country, some team chemistry issues are probably one of the main contributors to the lack of success. I also think while not being fair, it is reality that coaches will give star players far more leeway thuan they will a non-contributor or an average player. Red Auerbach admittedly stated that he treated Bill Russell different than any other player he coached. I'm sure Phil Jackson wouldn't have let Steve Kerr and Luc Longley as he did with MJ. That being said he should've let Reeves Nelson go sooner because he was hurting the team physically and mentally. |
