I don't give a shit about the acronyms but I don't like GoJ because he's wrong so often. Recently he said Anthoney Speca was coming and then a day later he commits to Penn State. He said watch out for Brandon Inniss while never even having a Michigan offer (and also what 5 star south florida receiver is coming to Michigan lol). GoJ is full of shit

AC was a South Florida WR. While not technically a 5 star (I don’t think ratings existed then) every Michigan fan to ever see him swears he was high 5 star caliber. Probably criminally under-used too.

Still, bringing up AC was not really on topic for the heart of your post about a kid without an offer not interested in us not coming.

I don't know what's more annoying - this drawn-out recruitment of Daniels (not that I blame him - UM's QB recruitment has been a clusterfuck) or posts like this where I have to pull up a Rosetta's stone to decipher.

Anyway, yay, I guess.

EDIT:  Damn you initials!

"Drawn out recruitment"?

You do realize that it's 9 months before he can sign an LOI.....in the EARLY SIGNING PERIOD, right?  A lot of recruitments start way before they sign.  It just happens to be that he's a very high profile kid, and his recruitment is being extensively covered.  I'm willing to bet that a lot of our 24 recruits were being recruited in 22 and 23....not just him.

I would rather him take his time and make a solid decision than commit and change his mind.  Which basically would destroy the recruiting class, if that happened.

Or.....worse yet.....take the Xavier Worthy route and take up a bunch of time in recruiting and a spot from another possible recruit, just to ask for a release to his LOI, after he signed.

I agree with your sentiments but your facts are off on both recruits.

Davis has been diligent in taking his time to make sure he makes a the right decision.  From what I surmise (from the free recruiting info) he has been close to committing to M a few times but the Harbaugh to the NFL chatter and then Matt Weiss departure have led them to pausing on a decision.  This comes after M had to overcome Matt Weiss being a “horrible recruiter” but growing on the Davis family. (direct quote from Mr. Davis to Weiss via Sam Webb).

Although It is many months from early signing day, having a top QB committed early is a key part for the school and the QB to  build a top class around themselves - See JJ for an example - so it is actually “late” for Davis to commit compared to most top ‘24 QBs.

As for Worthy - from everything I have read..this was HUGE M screwed up regarding space for early enrollees.  Otherwise he would have been in school that December after he signed.  (He was even living in temporary quarters in Ann Arbor for a few weeks until Mc ouldn’t get the EE sorted out.)   Once he could not enroll, Texas was able to step in and sway him away.  I believe this is probably the main reason why Matt Dudek “left” the Michigan staff later that year.

In my despair over the basketball collapse, I foolishly hoped Davis signed with the good guys when I came across this post. Hahahaha...joke's on me. Just setting up his 7th visit here. Cool.

GOJG is the greatest troll I have ever seen. He gives some useful insider info that keeps us coming back for more, but shares the info in the most absurd and infuriating ways possible, often dropping it in response to completely unrelated comments in random threads

You have to respect it though. Its like our MGoBlog version of the zodiac killer. You never know when or where, or even how to decipher the post, but you love when he drops a nugget.

Also MSU's prized recruit of the 2024 class top 100 WR Nick Marsh decommitted today. So Tuck is not comin.
