Iowa’s O and USC’s D continues to amaze in the bad way

If these teams met in a bowl this year, I wonder if it would put a tear in the space time continuum.

With Brian Ferentz no longer for his job, they threw caution into the wind and the team responded with 169 yards of offense, getting their 10 points in regulation on a last second FG. Interestingly enough, that is the 7th highest scoring output at Wrigley this year behind the Cubs scoring 20, 17, 16, 14, and 11 runs while the Pirates put up 13 in the friendly confines. Deacon threw for 65 yards while playing the entire game. Say hello to the likely B1G West Champs.

USC has the opposite problem with a disaster on D. They gave up 256 rushing yards to UW’s Dillon Johnson who amassed 199 yards BEFORE CONTACT! I don’t know that could happen with 2 Power 5 teams. That was enough to broom their DC which opens an opportunity for Shawn Nua who is now co-DC.

Don’t worry, it’s not cheating. I’ll give you $3M if you sign one football. #NIL

The thing is, they might get 3M for signing a football, but they lose out on coaching and player development. That 3M might be all the ever get. Highlight reels of getting burned on defense don't usually lead to signing NFL contracts.

1. USC is in the hood, not on the beach.

2. The attractiveness of the coeds has an inverse relation to the SC’s academic standards - as SC’s undergrad rankings went up, the hotness of the students went down, exponentially.

3. Agreed on weather but it’s also exponentially more expensive in LA than A2 and the “fan culture” is toxic - makes the in game never played a down hyperbole of our game threads look fair, balanced and informed by comparison.

Hookers and blow (and cash) will warp a young man's mind.

The Big Ten presidents will have a lot of looking the other way to do when USC shows up in the conference.  Man, that program has some history.

But it's all good though, as long as they nail that Harbaugh guy for his staffer having friends sit in the stands of football games.  That's a crime we can't tolerate.

I'm genuinely curious which bowl will invite Iowa, who at this point looks like a 10-2 Big West winner and 10-3 BTCG loser.

Michigan and possibly osu to the CFP or Big 6. Then you have 2-loss Penn State to a Big 6 game, probably. Would Iowa get the Citrus Bowl against a 3rd/4th place SEC team? That's still crazy to me.

It’s amazing how bad USC’s defense is, but that isn’t anything new. I couldn’t believe how bad they were last year, either. What is surprising about USC is the extent to which Caleb Williams has been exposed. He’s going to cost some dumb NFL GM his job.

100%. I am shocked how many pundits were still saying even a week ago that he is the best QB prospect since Luck. He’s not a better prospect than Burrow or Lawrence were. Shoot, I wouldn’t say he’s better than Baker or Kyler.

If anything, he’s going into his draft a lot like Jameis Winston. Someone who was amazing their Heisman year, but showed a lot more flaws than realized before in their following year.

Tried to post a thread but for some reason it didn't go through.

David Schuster is tweeting a legal plan is in place to block a big ten suspension. NCAA nor the Big Ten nor the internal investigation has shown proof that JH knew anything about what CS was doing.....so far.

Hell, have they showed any proof of what Stalions did?  show me some pictures of a Michigan fan filming a sideline from any stadium.   Show me the ticket purchases at said stadium.  Show me the out of town schedule show me something especially if you trying to suspend someone.

I personally think they got nothing and was hoping Michigan rats on themselves like they normally do.

For Iowa, I'd ask how those numbers are even possible. But it's Iowa, and so the question answers itself.

For USC: 199 yards *before* contact?! How is that possible? Do USCs defenders not work out? Are they totally incapable of getting off blocks? I know they can't tackle, but haven't watched them closely enough to know more than that.
