Interim Coaches Announced

Minter gets ECU

Jay Harbaugh gets the first half of UNLV, Hart the second.

Moore gets Bowling Green.

Ben Herbert and Jack Harbaugh temporary assistants to fill in, hilariously.

It's a great chance to show off the coaching depth.

All of these men are early in their careers and this is valuable experience.  This has a chance to increase their profiles and set them apart from other candidates.

To have a boss that is promoting your career success is culture building that stays.  It makes hiring new coaches easier because Harbaugh can point to career development of previous coaches.

Jay Harbaugh has been great at all of the coaching assignments he is given and when they land a big recruit his name is usually attached to it.  Very effective recruiter.  I'm confident that he will handle this without a problem.

I love it.  Harbaugh gets suspended and gets to have his son coach the team and have his Dad on the staff.  Both of which are extremely qualified.

Only negative (which is also a positive) is that we may lose one or more of these guys a year earlier.  This is the best coaching staff Michigan has had in my lifetime, and I don't think it is even close.

In the Harbaugh era, Michigan never seems to blow out anyone in the first half anyway. But I would flip this or just give it to Hart for the whole game. But, maybe we'd feel safer w Hart coaching the 2nd if something goes wrong?

Generally, I hope these interim coaches don't go for the slow motion blowout like Harbaugh prefers. I hope they translate massive yardage disparities into lots of first half points haha.

Will Jay get the win or will they split it? These are real games and they will go in the record books. They have to credit someone with the win and I assume it would be the guy who starts, but I’m continually reminded that I don’t know shit. So maybe someone here knows how these will be recorded.

I was curious about this too, so I looked up the rule and apparently if a head coach is suspended by the school or the conference, he can still count the games toward his record. But if the committee on infractions hands out the suspension, the games will go on the interim coach’s record. As far as having different interim head coaches in the first vs second half - no idea. I didn’t see anything about it in the rule book.

got me . . . slung . . . had to look it up as engineers have no natural grammar ability (my LS&A friends had a good laugh proofing my papers).  But the MICHIGAN difference, I looked it up.

Did I tell you that I have a signed copy of Stay Sane in an Insane World by Greg Harden?  I am telling everyone.  That man coaches 24/7.  He was coaching me as he crafted his dedication to address my personal situation.  I also bought a copy to donate to a silent auction (collection of signed sports related books.)

Can't wait.

The only thing missing from this fantastic graphic is a slightly more overt version of the "f you, NCAA" subtext. Like a hand in a fist, middle finger extended and the letters N C A A on each exposed lower knuckle.

The assignments are fine.  Serve this self imposed suspension - and wait nine months for the NCAA to try to find its way out of a brown paper bag.

Speaking of brown bagging - can you think of any schools were penalized for their brown bag programs?
