How To Talk To Kids About Undefeated Iowa

Submitted by HelloHeisman91 on

The idea was born on The Solid Verbal Podcast and an Alabama fan ran with it.  Great podcast, btw.

Edit: See the first post.  The video isn't showing in the OP for some reason.

>> Would a child of a bama fan really be wearing war eagle gear?

I know some people from down south who have families split like that.

Their allegiance hierarchy -- family first, then the state of Alabama, then their respective schools, then the SEC, then "the south."

Tensions do run high during the Iron Bowl, however. :-)

My undergrad roommate was from Alabama and he and his dad were Bama, while mom and the other three kids were Auburn. Similar dynamic to a Wolverine/Spartan house I am sure.

Only weird part for me is seeing the mom win the war for the kids allegiance. I always gravitated towards my dads teams and am ensuring my kids sing "The Victors" every chance I get.

They're irrelevant because absolutely no one sees them winning the conference or making the playoffs. They are having a good season but no one mentions Iowa when it comes to playoff talk hence they are irrelevant when it comes to that discussion. The most likely outcome for Iowa is 12-0 start and then getting destroyed in the B1G championship game and then losing again against a quality opponent in a good bowl. Still 12-2 is a damn good season but they are irrelevant in the championship picture.

This is the best CFB comedy video I've seen since EDSBS' Lee Corso Slo Jam or the Orgeron Footbaw song. Unbelievable.

Elephant in the room, though: Alabama dad, Auburn kids, and nary a word said about it.
