How other fanbases are viewing Michigan this year

Michigan is the talk of the town.  On many different message boards there are threads about us.  A sampling:

Utah is (justifiably) proud that they've scored over half the points we've surrendered.

BYU is basically in awe of us, especially defensively.  Some are convinced we'd "curb stomp" Utah in a rematch.

ND is just happy they don't have to play us.

Minnesota is undecided about whether our rise is due to Harbaugh being a good coach, or Jake Rudock being a Russell Wilson-like gamechanger.

PSU is mostly impressed but some think we're a "good matchup" for them.

Iowa has decided Northwestern probably isn't that good, but some think we're the best team in the conference.

Wisconsin fans werent ímpressed with our performance against Utah; now someone bumped that thread up and they look a tad silly.

Nebraska wonders how Michigan and Florida are seeing instant results when the Riley isn't quite doing the same.

I waded through the muck of the MSU Red Cedar board just long enough to find this thread - massively downvoted for saying we look good, of course.

And finally, the Scarlet and Gray legions are beginning to be impressed.

Diaries do stay up longer, though.  This thread will probably get pushed off the sidebar before the end of the day, which would be unfortunate.  Some of the threads in the OP are active and there is more schadenfreude developing by the hour.

Seth is the final say on all things diary, but the board v. diary distinction is almost always about original content, or how much original content.

This is a good post and I imagine it took some time to put together but I think it's pretty clearly one for the board. Then again, this plus curating some choice comments or quotes from front page types at the other sites would be a really cool recurring diary series, like a more in depth version that section of UV.

Ah, I love the fear and the respect.  Respect mostly from teams who have already played us or don't have us on the schedule - - and the cold finger of fear from teams who are facing a Harbaugh showdown.  I love this team!

I texted MSU grad brother yesterday and asked if he was nervous yet. His response:

"Enjoy your win this week. There is no way we can even compete. They may have to call up some HS seniors to even field a team. Should help with your ranking"

and I'm not criticizing the OP, but that wasn't an overly precise classification of the conversation.  Most of the conversation in regards to the "good matchup" was that "PSU has a better chance to defeat U-M than they do to defeat OSU."

Couldnt have worked out better for Utah. They got to us before we were quite ready and now that win just looks better and better. If they make the playoffs they should send Harbaugh a thank you basket.

Well, according to OSU and MSU fans (from what I have perused on the Googles and Internets), Michigan has a great defense, but the offense is shit. Also (of course) they still think their teams will beat us in convincing fashion.

"Well it does look like the Coach is losing some of his mojo. He cannot seem to get the ship corrected. Even if we win tonight, we are a very bad team.
I just fucking hate the UM can land the best coach alive, along with some of the best Asst Coaches. We lose Coach Narduzzi and the wheels come off. I am starting to think that Coach Narduzzi was the real HC. If we ask Coach to retire and bring back Narduzzi, how will that play? I would be in favor of this.
I am going to hate the next 20 years now that UM is back, I hope it does not take another 20 years for us to come back. They have the best Coach in the best stadium, with the best band, a Top 5 Academic Institution. Hell even their BB HC is gaining on us, but will NEVER over take Izzo.
I might just as well kill myself (J/K of course)"

The concern troll concept was clearly invented at that trash pit RCMB.  So many weird-ass trolls there, it's hilarious.  The combination of sexism and rape jokes with the concern trolls and "nucky" makes their fanbase look like complete idiots, which I know they aren't.  The site is a stain in the fabric of the internet, and they should feel bad.
