Former Alabama OL Lindsay Visiting This Weekend
Tweet says it all, hopefully we can get him on board!
jcshurburtt RT @JFowlerCBS: Former #Alabama OG Chad Lindsay is visiting #Michigan this weekend, per source. @TremendousUM 4/4/14, 10:20 AM |
yes please
FWIW, here are all the visitors I know of for this weekend:

Do you know if Lindsay plans on visiting elsewhere? I imagine this is the place he wants to be because he knows Nuss' system well already.
He'd be a huge boost in OL play and helping the youngsters learn the offense faster.
I think Boise State is another place he's visiting. Not sure about others.
Also...your avatar is mesmerizing. I can't look away
and I've heard about this guy before, but have little details on his game.
Anyone got the 4-1-1 on him?
eBay, tattoos, something something
I see plenty of scenarios where they do...like 2015 or 2016 when our entire team is Juniors and sensiors and sprinkle in the Peppers and Damian Harris of the world. Mattison coaches defense like he is suppose to and Nuss coaches like a madman...Actually, If we are not in the playoff by 2016, I will be surprized.....
edit: oops missed the joke about getting "BAMA"s Nat C
Even in that scenario, I don't see Michigan getting an Alabama National Championship ring. Unless we moved the program to Tuscaloosa or something. Even then it's a longshot.
Our best bet is to look on ebay for a ring being sold by one of the players Saban cut.
I think you're overlooking two of them, as well as at least two of our own.
Michigan will actually get two if Lindsay signs.
On another board I frequent (a mixed Big Ten board), a longtime Alabama poster claimed ("for what it's worth") the UA OL performed much better when Lindsay was starting than when he wasn't.
Having an experienced center to anchor the OL is so critical. Nothing against Miller/Burzynski/Glasgow, but the interior blocking last year was not good. And experience or lack thereof definitely had a part in it. Lindsay could also give another year for Kugler to develop.
We should then keep in mind that the OC that didn't notice his superior skills and his positive team chemistry is now the OC for UM. Second, he had another year of eligibility but was looking at going back to the bench as a back up when they guy he replaced, Kelly, returns next fall.
at center, as we all know. this guy being a 1B option at 'bama still makes him very, very servicable. but the bigger plus is that he knows the offense and all of it's complex terms. that is absolutely critical for the center (smartest guy on the team) since he's the one walking up to the ball and begins the series of line-calls for the O-line. 'Tango! Tango! X-ray! X-ray!', and so the play begins....
but a reflection of how good Kelly may be? Given our depth, if he transfers to UM I can't see how it couldn't be anything except a plus for all involved.
A graduate transfer who started four games last year for Alabama. He'd probably play center here, and I'd imagine he'd start right away. His background is a 3 star, but had offers from most of the heavy hitters in the south.
I think we're past the point on the OL where the starzzzz of a kid from 5 years ago matters. At this point anyone over legal drinking age would be helpful.
Or German freshmen...
to work well for the Michigan basketball team...eh?
He would be the best center and would win the starting spot. Plus, he would help our younger OL to improve. I hope Nuss can get him to transfer here. It would be a great plus for us in 2014.
So obviously you're also sad that Nussmeier is here as well.
But think of last years team, what would've happened if we even had a semi-competant O-line or even one with just one or two better players? Considering we lost to PSU, Iowa, Nebraska, and Ohio State be a combined 11 points (less than a FG per game) that you could imagine us squeaking out 1 or 2 of those as wins
So in knowledge of that. I welcome Alabama's 5th yr transfers and any other competant O-linemen that would like to transfer here. That's the unit that could make us or continue to break us
hooray
When's this weekenk? Hopefully soon.
Fixed the typo...no idea how that happened at all.
Now my joke went from bad and unfunny to bad and unfunny and meaningless.
I deserved it though! And I did give you an upvote for it. It was well played.
Wasn't 'Weekenk' the name of one of the Twins from the original Men in Black. The other Twin being Bob of course.
Good memory for that one. Here's the clip:

your avatar and name is the best yet
Thank you.
Ok Nuss - you're on the sit.
WEEKENK! SPENKING THE WEEKENK in AA will hopefully make him Go Blue in the ENK!
