Should be a tremendous offensive showcase.  I know Duke crushed them earlier but I think the Badgers take it.

Think it's amusing that the two best college games of the last three years (this and the M/Louisville title game) both had absolutely atrocious officiating.

  1. Towns
  2. Lyles
  3. Booker
  4. Have to think the Harrison Twins finally go - their stock won't go higher.  The older they get the less "upside".  I dont see them improving their stock by staying.  But they are sort of like GR3 - 2nd rounders most likely.

I think those 5 for sure - WCS is an enigma.  Hard to read him. He *should go* but apparently really enjoys college.

Agree with you here.

I went out to see some friends at Wisco a couple times while an undergrad, and it was always a great time. Their students were all very welcoming and made damn sure Madison was an epic, wild-ass time for people visiting.

So that makes it a lot easier to not hate Wisconsin sports.

2-3 years ago I would've understood it. Bo Ryan's teams had a habit of sucking out all that was good and fun about the game, and they also had a nasty habit of beating us in the most gut wrenching ways.

But they're a fun team to watch now. It doesn't feel painful now that we don't have to watch them drain the clock and win games 45-42.

Hate to root for Duke, but this Wiscy team is an aberration from their usual mugging style of play.  It will be back from the Wisconsinners.

Man, I am SO DAMN GLAD the sketch ball that is Calipari got beat.

And the fact that a slew of NBA guys just making their pit stop at UK lost to a bunch of homegrown Wisconsin kids makes it THAT much better.

Because Kentucky's program is built upon using what are likely ethically questionable tactics to pull in the best recruits every year. Most of them already are projected 1st round draft choices, if not lottery picks.

The Michigan players you mentioned came to Ann Arbor, put in the effort, and developed from unheralded recruits (sans McGary) into top NBA prospects. With hard work and good coaching at the college level, they were able to put themselves in a position to pursue their NBA dreams.

Calipari's success relies on assembling elite talent far, far more than it does on player development and top-notch coaching.

This is the first time I've correctly picked both teams in the championship game in my 20 years of seriously doing brackets. To top it off, I've already sealed a victory in one of my money pools. Gentlemen, the adult beverages are flowing freely at the Jhendo household tonight!

A string of horrible calls that ended up playing into Wisconsin's favor.

Probably one of the most pathetic calls I have ever seen on the missed shot clock violation.  It was clear as day.

They said no foul on the floor and reviewed it.  Still said no call.  What else can you do.  The refs looked at it and saw the ball tip off the guys hand then smack the guy.

There was another call where the ball hit off Wisconsin and went out of bounds and they retained possession.

The flagrant was a judgment call.  The shotclock violation was a textbook call.

Get the bad calls called on them earlier ended up working to their favor.

Watch it from the correct angle? The only explanation I can come up with is that they didn't. Let's not forget the ridiculous blocking foul on Kaminsky with 50 seconds left that allowed UK to cut the deficit to one point. Lots of iffy calls tonight.

One of the first angles they showed, to me it looked like the Kentucky guys' fingertips hit the ball in a weird way and then he followed through with his hand and hit the Wisconsin guy in the face.

Other angles it looked like he smacked him right in the face.

I didn't think there was any intent (pretty stupid overall to do something like that).

I could have seen a flagrant 1 called, but I also can see why the did a play on.

Shot clock violation I saw as a makeup call. The shot right before that play the UW player was hit on the follow through. That should've been, IIRC, 3 shots at the line. I say UK got lucky there anyway bc UW could've gotten 3.
