Emoni Bates to Louisville
Good place for him.
Boats and Hoes (and blow)
CJK5H @ Louisville?
In addition to the ones at SMU? Does that mean that CJK10H?
Looks like Louisiville NIL'd it. Some might say put the final NIL in the coffin!
Michigan offered nil.
He who hesitates...Emonibates.
"biggest name" is a perfect way to sell the significance without saying anything about the quality of the player
Bates would not have gotten inside the UM Admissions Department's gates.
Which for athletes at Michigan, is the same thing as the NCAA standard. Regardless of what one thinks of Bates, he does not have to pull down a 3.8 like the rest of us did.
The athlete standard as clearinghouse minimum only works for freshman admits. Transferring in appears to be impossible. And since Memphis is close to the worst school in the NCAA, I very much doubt credits would transfer
Thanks. Just looked it up. Yeah, xfer students can be subject to schools', rather than the NCAA's, requirements.
Womens basketball just got a freshman transfer from Oregon state.
and if we are being honest there is about a zero percent chance bates plans on sticking around 4 years to graduate so my guess is credits don’t mean anything to him anyways. Michigan didn’t get bated because they didn’t want him, ant wright is a clickbait troll.
Transferring appears impossible? Despite people doing it, like literally this year? There was almost zero evidence Bates was ever trying to transfer in and zero chance he gave a shit about his credits. Transfer standards seem to have become the boogie man that keeps Michigan from its rightful greatness, facts be damned.
Don’t know if that’s true - he could probably get in but none of his credits would transfer. The odds of Bates going for his degree are slim - similar to Diabate - the athleticism alone is enough to get drafted and wherever he goes I would not look at beyond a 1 year stop.
"quite possibly the biggest name." Super modified. I hope the Ypsi kid gets some success.
It’s only ten letters. Hunter Dickinson is not impressed.
Moving north. First Tennessee, now Kentucky. What's next? Akron and then Eastern Michigan?
Cincy, Dayton, or Toledo would be more direct options
Kenny Payne is going to be a major thorn in Calipari’s side and if Cal doesn’t start winning with what he’s bringing in soon, Payne might signal the end for him.
I keep reading Kenny Payne and thinking Kenny Mayne, the 90s SportsCenter host. Painting an odd picture LOL
FWIW, Mayne Street is still hilarious.
UK will still get theirs but Kenny Payne and Louisville are gonna start getting more than their fair share. You can bet that the rise of UofL is back on track.
Quite possibly the biggest name in the transfer portal.
If I rolled my eyes any harder they'd fall right out of my head. The dude's top 6 had three teams that didn't even want him, and oh yeah it also included EMU.
He's nowhere near the biggest name.
Emoni Bates
How bout now?
quite possibly
But Anthony Wright said Emoni to Michigan??
Shhhhhhh...you're not supposed to remember that....
Yeah and others who were gonna enter the portal as well.
Good luck to him. Not a big surprise and probably a better fit.
His father, the bagman, negotiated the best deal possible.
Seems about right
Emoney
MeMoney
More eMONi more problems.
LOL. Of course. Birds of a feather...
Feels like a bullet dodged for us
Oh wait...didn't Frankie transfer because Emoni was coming to take his minutes? Who or what am I supposed to blame now?
This seems to be far from confirmed. I’d put this on par with the Ant Wright report until there is a more official announcement.
Not disappointed
That seems like the absolute perfect school + kid fit. Only one comparable might have been LSU.
I was told Howard pushed Frankie out to make room for him. I can’t imagine I was lied to on the internet.
Apparently Emoni was asking for $400k in NIL money
