Countdown to Kickoff - Day 15: Kelvin Grady
August 20th, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
I hope he can read the defense better than the teleprompter.
August 20th, 2010 at 8:48 AM ^
two weeks two weeks two weeks.
August 20th, 2010 at 8:49 AM ^
Martell Webb. Dude's been getting ripped on.
August 20th, 2010 at 8:53 AM ^
It's quite funny though.
August 20th, 2010 at 8:56 AM ^
I am single, like long walks on the beach.... we can hook up on twitter lol This was a good countdown Grady had me cracking up
August 20th, 2010 at 1:35 PM ^
And he's definitely a hard core twitter player. He has plenty of nice looking ladies tweetin' him up constantly. It seems to be one of his methods, and it seems to be working just fine.
Being a football player at Michigan clearly has extracurricular advantages.
August 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM ^
Webb needs to do the last one, so he can get in the the last digs.
August 20th, 2010 at 8:53 AM ^
Wow, you can sure tell he has been stuck at camp without female companionship! ;)
August 20th, 2010 at 8:55 AM ^
Dreamy! We need to find him a nice girl for a walk on the beach.
August 20th, 2010 at 9:01 AM ^
How many more teases can I take. We need Sept. 4th to get her ASAP! Otherwise I fear we'll be watching stories on the backup guard's cat.
August 20th, 2010 at 9:05 AM ^
Yeah I like how it went from a football countdown video to an eHarmony profile video.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:22 AM ^
But the sentiment is the same. Creepy.
No terribly deep thoughts there.
August 20th, 2010 at 9:17 AM ^
WTF was that?
August 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM ^
Curve that hat brim, son.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:17 AM ^
If you're gonna play the game, boy, you gotta learn to play it right.
August 20th, 2010 at 11:16 AM ^
It's the new curved!
It's not for everyone.
August 20th, 2010 at 12:19 PM ^
A lot of people will look back on photos of themselves in flat brimmed hats and be very embarassed. Its one thing if it is to the side or back and flat, but straight on and flat just looks ridiculous. I can't even decide who it looks worse on - white or black dudes? Oh, now I remeber the answer to that - Tate. Sorry, man. It looks bad. Really bad.
August 20th, 2010 at 2:30 PM ^
Maybe growing up in California has changed my perspective. I see people wearing flat brimmed hats all the time. I personally don’t like it, but I see it all the time.
What I think is stranger is the cotton hats with the over exaggerated curved brim. I would describe it as East coast frat boy douche bag look.
August 20th, 2010 at 9:18 AM ^
"Tell us who you are and then say, 'This is Countdown to Kickoff.'"
"Man, that's a lot to remember."
August 20th, 2010 at 9:32 AM ^
i gotta get my hands on a hat like that. that block M looks crisp
August 20th, 2010 at 9:47 AM ^
The next time Kelvin Grady is getting reps at running back, I wouldn't be surprised if Martell Webb misses his block on Craig Roh...
August 20th, 2010 at 11:52 AM ^
I'm thinking they should let Webb go last so he can roast everybody who's been on his case.
August 20th, 2010 at 1:17 PM ^
Stanley, Your heart sucks, and you crush your wife during sex. Boom. Roasted
Kelvin, You're tiny, you can't do an intro to countdown to kickoff, and you're bad at getting dates. Boom. Roasted.
August 20th, 2010 at 9:52 AM ^
Devin looks pretty cool (people cooler than me, imagine the word 'sick' was inserted here) with that shield.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:19 AM ^
Also looks pretty cool throwing crisp spirals. His throws in the video looked real sharp.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:07 AM ^
What the hell is this? eHarmony?
I bet he gets some long walks on Barwis Beach after this interview.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:40 AM ^
I'm sure he won't be heckled at all in the locker room for that piece of cinematic epicness.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:41 AM ^
"I like to, you know, romantic dinners."
Haha that was epic! I know it's intimidating being in front of the camera, but I'm sure he's never going to hear the end of that from his teammates!
August 20th, 2010 at 10:56 AM ^
What a complete dork. I mean that in the nicest way.
Honestly, I expected some of these guys to come off like complete thugs, but in video after video they've proven they're pretty much just dorky teenage boys who happen to be able to benchpress a moose or two.
August 20th, 2010 at 1:03 PM ^
Just because they play football? Because of where we live and work and shop and eat out, we run into lots of athletes and at worst they just want to mind their own business, and at best are really polite to us old folks and really friendly to our kids.
Kelvin Grady's been on the top of that list since he was a freshman, actually. Nice guy to complete strangers.
August 21st, 2010 at 11:11 AM ^
I have had the same experience, as it happens. I don't usually approach athletes when I see them around town, but I tend to see them doing things like--I kid you not--buying milk at Meijer at 11 pm on a Friday. Or bowling with their friends.
But you know, when the camera is rolling and it's all about showing the world what a tough athlete you are, ready for the season, ready to pound opponents into the turf, I expected a little more posturing. More sports cliches, more tough talk. You know, like how they hunker down for team photos so it looks like they have no neck. Toughness.
So, for me, it's disarming how normal and even goofy/dorky they have been on camera.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:58 AM ^
This quote means something much different in the video than how it appears in print:
KG: "Martell Webb smells good."
August 20th, 2010 at 11:26 AM ^
I still can't over how thin he looks on the football field as compared to how thick he looked on the court.
August 20th, 2010 at 11:51 AM ^
...Kelvin. Also, touchdowns, Kelvin. You get a lot of touchdowns, your date card will quickly swoll.
August 20th, 2010 at 11:55 AM ^
And as his date card swells, he will score lots of touchdowns.
*wink* *wink*
August 20th, 2010 at 11:56 AM ^
"Well, isn't it true what they say about guys with big noses?"
'What?"
"You know... Big nose, Big-..."
"Oh, no no no. That only works for long noses, my friend."
August 20th, 2010 at 12:04 PM ^
It's great to hear that along with being a "family guy", he also likes to eat candy!
August 20th, 2010 at 12:14 PM ^
than the scottsdale boys
