Fowler: This has been the Pacific Life game summary.

The Full Album

Lives here.

Notre Dame Schadenfreude Top Ten

10. The Self-Sack

In fairness, a solid alternative to being chased by Cam McGrone.

9. Beaten

It does not appear the O-line had much fun.

8. M00N Callback

It's bad when only one team is playing M00N-ball.

7. Brian Kelly Existential Crisis

When you contemplate quitting on the spot and then remember the financial ramifications.

6. A New Way to Fumble

Thank you, Notre Dame quarterbacks, for your continued innovation in this field.

5. What Are You Doing?

I have no idea what Jonathan Jones was thinking but I'm glad he thought it.

4. Dumbfounded Brian Kelly

When the manager won't listen to your complaint.

3. "Cut Me, Mick!"

Ian Book had a rough night.

2. Wet and Mad

lol.

FRAMES OF THE GAME: THIS IS A DIFFERENT GIF THAN THE LAST ONE

loooooool.

Top Five Towel Tosses

5. The Heavy Stuff is Coming Down

If you look closely you can spot the one that lands on the camera.

4. Wirecam Shot

This is an absolute laser that I'm convinced hit the wire bit of the wirecam. Brian Kelly should've pulled this kid out of the stands and put them in at quarterback.

3. This Is Your Fault

This throw, sadly, doesn't connect with John O'Neill, but it does graze one of the other officials, and we get the bonus of a Michigan staffer trying to snatch it out of the air.

2. Friendly Doink

I think Nico Collins asked for this? He certainly didn't seem to mind.

TOWEL-TOSS(ES) OF THE GAME: F--- YOU AND F--- THIS

Unbelievable precision all around.

Everything Else Top Ten

10. Plucked

The degree of difficulty on DPJ's touchdown was not low.

9. TruTD

Sorry, the bad puns are contractually obligated now.

8. Clone More Glasgows

Use science for good.

7. They Threw The Fade

Oh hey that works really well.

6. Tracked and Slaughtered

Cam McGrone is something straight out of a nature documentary.

5. Slippery Sainristil

Woop.

4. Smushed

Hassan Haskins would like you to take a seat right there, thanks.

3. Don Brown Contemplates Murder

If there were fewer witnesses, I'm inclined to believe he would've gone through with it.

2. Up and Over

More fun than effective but it was a lot of fun.

FRAMES OF THE GAME: SPAMMED

Have a seat over there, buddy.

No voting this week, they're all too good to choose. If you'd like a winner declared, it's the Kmet/camera towel double shot.

Good call on the no vote this week. That would have ruined my day trying to figure out which one to vote for.

In Towel #5 you can clearly see a front row person in a yellow poncho take direct aim at an official. He doesn't hit him but kind of iffy on that one.

There was a lot of discussion on the pod about whether or not the students were weighing the towels down with something. I promise they were not. Those things were so soaked with water that they were like 10 pounds each, plenty of heft for a throw.

The towels are also not exactly of high quality - the material is thin, and it it weren't for them being waterlogged and balled up or knotted, they wouldn't have flown very far.  I carried 5 wet towels home and it didn't add up to ten pounds.

Yeah, water.  They were weighing them down in water.  Maybe rain water weighs more.  I promise they didn’t weigh ten lbs.  you underestimate the force of a 10lb flying object.

i don’t think I’ve seen a more appropriate use of towels than what I witnessed on Saturday.  Bravo student section.

it was kind of dumb that they made them maize colored (yeah I get it was for the maize out).  A few times on the north end I saw a towel thinking it was a penalty flag though.

My fave was seeing sad Brian Kelly so much. It is almost as glorious as seeing purple faced Kelly. But my vote would be for either the Sainrisitl catch and run or Haskins juke.

Awesome to give a thumping like this in a rivalry night game- seems like we can do that to ND at home pretty easily- maybe Big House Magic. And I haven't enjoyed watching a Michigan game like this in a long time. Rutgers is non-stress but that don't count because it is like watching a replay of an old win. Fun to watch, but no drama. Hope Maryland game turns out like that.

The McGrone chase down was made possible by Dax doing an excellent job sealing the edge.  I'm sure they drill that all the time, but still a really smart play by him.

They are both quickly becoming favorites on defense and had great games. The McGrone chase down was definitely Devin Bush like. Look where it he is when the ball is thrown and caught and he still drags the guy down before he can get a few steps upfield.

Throw:

Catch:

First step upfield by the receiver.

and still results in CRUNCH.

so someone told me that the punt was blocked by ND but made it across the line of scrimmage and UM was able to recover. therefor the ND player attempted to jump on it to prevent UM players from recovering.

is that correct?

Anyone who doesn't enjoy the towel throwing needs to learn to enjoy life. That was fucking great. I wish Brian Kelly would have been hit by one.
