Lewan Muppets Comment Count

Taylor Lewan surprised everyone by announcing he'll return for his senior season at Michigan. When All-American left tackles unexpectedly stay for another year, it's time for muppets.

And you can't have one without the other...

Welcome back, Taylor.

for about the first 1:20 it absolutely like he was gone but then he uttered that beautiful word "but"

"but when you to a place like Michigan..." and you know things are good from there

So...we know it's almost a given of Lewan/Kalis on the left hand side. My only questions are Center and if Schofield moves back inside or stays at tackle.

I'd say my guess is Miller at C.....Schofield at RG and Braden at RT.

I think the tackles stay put - Schofield was a solid guard in 2011, but he finished 2012 as a good RT and I think it makes sense to keep him there.  Miller will be at Center and Kalis at one guard.

If Bryant can't lock down the other guard spot, my sleeper pick is Erik Magnuson.  He's a talented player who can play inside if he needs to.  I think he'll ultimately end up at tackle, but I think he can play OG too, and I bet he'll get a chance at a starting spot.

...Lewan who clearly believes he has unfinished business in A2. Happy for Devin Gardner who will have bookend tackles next year.

Happy for Fitz Toussaint and Derrick Green who will have a top 5 draft pick caliber LT to run behind.

Happy for me.

Show smith some love. The guy is the 11th ranked rb on the latest scout 300 rankings and everyone here acts like we still need to find someone in this class who can be a rb for us. Sure, I want green too, but smith is no chopped liver.

Same mentality on this board earlier in the year except it was...Isaac.  Smith has all the skill and 90% less hype.

Lewan's decision is good for the team - not a recruit who hasn't made a decision and therefore is not as relevant as those on the team that have.

Wow.  Glad I couldn't bet on his decision...I would be lighter in the wallet.

Hope he wins the Outland trophy and becomes a top 5 pick.

I too, wonder about our OL recruiting, but that's a concern for another day.

Let the revelry commence!

My confidential source, Professor Anecdotal, says that Admissions signaled Taylor the incoming frosh babes are especially 'talented' this year and the best of bests in their personal statements wrote they adore tall tandem bicyclists with 'staches.. That's all I could come up with but heck this is welcome news. C'ya downfield, Arizonan.

Shocker (not in the gross way).

  • -DG's backside protected
  • -Best recruit in next year's class
  • -Best thing that could have happened to the new 12,13 studs on the OL (benefits of mentorship and watching an all american practice/play)
  • -Could possibly be a top 5 pick after Clowney buzz and significant SR season
  • -Could help impact some young RB recruit's decision

Good, good and more good.  Wait a minute...more good.  Lewan just went into a different strata of Michigan lore...all 3 penalty games are now forgiven.

Awesome!

of Jon Jansen and "the last 77" aka Jake Long before the start of the season.  Both of those gentlemen stayed for their last year of eligibility.  I wonder if either/both of those conversations had anything to do with his decision,
