I am still unsure why if we have questions a Center Back and #9 why John Brooks and Josh Sargent (hurt?) aren’t even getting looks right now. Carter Vickers looked like the best CB last night so hoping he gets more looks this summer for WC in Nov. If there is no #9, which there appears to be no #9, why not take a page out of Liverpool and Man City’s book of using a false 9 and place Aaronson as the #9 and just give the USMNT the best 11 and forget a true #9. I get using as many as possible for the last 4 matches but there are a few players who are getting time in Europe who seem on paper to make this team better
Wish I could have watched the whole game live but still watching the highlights was amazing. Love seeing how the team took on the energy and grit of the coach.
I would just like to see the best athletes on the field, I do not care their age or experience. At some point the people on the field are not getting the job done, so if the players are not changing then the coaching is the issue. I realize the DL was at its max today, but the OT's got burned all game and not one RB could gain a yard or seem to make a cut to gain more. Best players are all out wide and can be game planned against. If the spine is weak the body will fall. The spine is weak for Michigan, especially on D.
Penn St got beat down at Michigan last year and won the Big Ten. OSU seems to have an early loss each year and goes on a streak. Maybe this was the wake up call Harbaugh and Michigan needed. No one wants to lose (especially to MSU) but maybe the players and coaches will now show more grit and produce like they can and should.
Feel bad for Dortmund as they got off to a bad start with the attack last week. Monoco is better then most think though so who knows who would have won without the extra drama. A lot of players at Monoco are making money right for transfers next year.
I am surprised Leicester has made it this far after the EPL they are having. Will be interested to see if they can continue their run in the CL after being 1 point above relegation zone in the EPL. Alays fun to watch the "Old Lady" play as I never much about them in Serie A, but are always solid in the CL.
Always great to see people value the hard work needed to finish what they started. Hope he can help out more with the football team as his experience could be great for the team.
Will be interesting to see the line up for Man City as Monaco has a potent attack and City has been weak on defense (against better teams, but they have been good lately). Hoping for some good open play and work rates from each game today.
Pete nor ESPN will say anything about this as they do not want to make a story of something that could hurt the SEC Network. But your right it would be a story any where else in the country.
Would be great to see the whole team come back next year for Leicester and just add a few pieces for depth or a starter or two, Afraid the team may be broken up if Kante, Vardy, Marhez or Schmeichel get their contracts bought out.
Gardner couldn't hit a receiver in stride making it hard for a receiver to catch the ball. I feel bad for Nussmeyer as he has no option at QB RB or WR to call plays. Maryland had 8-9 in the box all game and we Michigan couldn't take advantage.
I watched the game with a formaer Iowa offensive lineman and kept seeing ND players getting free. He did not have a quick answer as to why, but I am curious if it was communication by the line as has been pointed out or if it was technique or simply being over powered by the defense.
I am torn on this question. My first game with my father was in the early 80's sitting in the student section when I was about 11 or 12 and wondering why all these people were shirtless and acting weird. My dad didn't know how to explain that one. As I was not ready to learn about drinking and football and it's obvious link. The last game I watched with my dad was the Bakabatuka game against OSU and it was so much fun to see undefeated OSU lose. I was lucky enough to then understand drinking and football and enjoyed them both that day as my father and I went to Ashley's after game for a celebratory drink(s).
Went to Wicked Weed, Wedge, LaB in Asheville this past week and Carolina Brewery in Chapel Hill. Now I am trying Outer Banks Brewery tonight. All were very good especially the pubs in Asheville and Outer Banks
One of the things I have always liked about Klinsmann has been his ability to get the players to change their style of play. Never heard him discuss playing more like America, but this makes perfect sense. Define the identity of the country and try to get the players to do the same. Great article.
1. The Masters is a great event, but not the best. I equate the course to a playboy model, beautiful yet everything has been touched up. Do they really have speakers playing birds chirping in the trees? Do they really dye Rae's Creek so it is not as muddy on TV? Can the announcers be more boring? I will watch but it is always with a tainted eye.
2. Tiger '97, Scott '13, Nicklaus '86
3. Rory, Westwood, Poulter, Stricker (want to see a first time winner at Masters or 1st Major)
Nice to see Shane make Lou Holtz eat his words at halftime about lefty QBs. It was a good game for Shane considering he was limited by his experience, the play calling and no running game.
I am not worried about the Germany, Brazil or Argentina teams being in the USA's group since the top 2 teams advance and as long as USA advances they could avoid a top top team for a few knockout rounds (having been in the same group stage). I just hope the other 2 teams in the group do not have the ability to beat USA and the other teams making it harder to get 1st or 2nd in the group stage. Switzerland would be easier for the USA to beat than Germany, but it would be easier for Bosnia or any other weaker team as well.
Watching the game with my Dad at Michigan Stadium while watching Tim Biakabutuka run for 300+ yards and beat undefeated OSU. I will never forget that day and cannot wait to take my son to see Michigan play OSU someday.
"I'm in favor of it." John McKay, coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1976, when asked about the execution of his team.
This is what I think of every time I hear about players not executing. Also at this point, if a lineman can't block or a RB can't pick up a blitzing LB, it's time to fire Funk & Jackson. Borges may not be great but he is doing what he can with what he has. I am no longer surprised by anything this year, maybe it's time to groom next years players so they are ready to execute when called upon.
Ommegang is way underrated in my opinion and I do not even like Belgium beers in general. They had a good selection and by far the coolest brewery I have ever seen. So glad to see Boulevard in the top 5 as they have the best wheat beer I have ever had.
To me Widmer Bros. & Bridgeport are very good craft beers. Too many others to mention in Oregon & Washington. Sounds like the list is as much marketing and name recognition as it is about the actual beer.
Homemade Eggs Benedict is first on the list then I hope to drink some Widmer or Bells while watching The US Open. But I am sure the kids will drag me to the pool at some point.

Thoughts with you Seth!!

This is great news, hope all the Webb's are doing well!!

Could you see how many points they had?
Sad to say but only 2 1st rounders in 10 years. Glad to see Harbaugh will get more in the near future. Hope to see Butt, Lewis and Wormley in the 2nd.

Patrick Ewing and Georgetown went to 3 finals from 1982-85.
14 goals in the 2 matches, wish I could have watched live but seems to be a good one to watch when I get home. 2nd legs should be fun to watch.

Nice to have something to disuss in the american football off season. I am all for any EPL or Americans abroad discussions.
Best of luck and hoping for a great pro career.
That would have been fun to watch, damn kids activities ruining my evenings.
Need to go see a Ryder Cup and a World Cup

I am very surprised by the "Well" to Question ratio, a little disappointed in fact. Hopefully as the season goes on it is closer 1:1 ratio.

It was an understandable loss but heart breaking none the less. Can't believe Prince Harry scored against us. Can't wait for 2018 already.
Enjoying family time in Asheville NC at Wicked Weed & Wedge breweries watching futbal with the kids.

Hope City can hold on. Upset Fulham has been relegated.

Yes Yes Yes and Yes
Forgot about that one. That was one of if not the best of the pubs I went to in the NW.

Exciting game fun to watch. Feel bad for Dortmund but Bayern was the better team today and all season.
