Herbie on Pryor
Cowherd interviewed Herbstreit on the OSU thing and Herbie just kind of went on a 5 minute rant on Pryor being a complete tool. It's nothing earth shattering, but it's fun to see some other alumni base bickering.

If thats not calling the kettle black. Tool is a tool?
I am bored shitless at work right now!
December 23rd, 2010 at 11:22 PM ^
Cowherd is the ultimate tool, but when compared to the other "personalities" on ESPN, Herbie isn't all that bad, even for a Buckeye. He's a Big 10 guy, and after enduring beatings like this (both on the field and scoreboard), he always has shown a healthy respect for UM.
December 23rd, 2010 at 2:44 PM ^
Hey man, takes one to know one. At least we know his sources are accurate this time.
December 23rd, 2010 at 4:58 PM ^
So that would make you a tool, too? Damn it. Now, I'm a tool.

Actually it is a link to where you can hear the Herbie interview. If you look down the page there is a box next to the article that says The Herd with Colin Cowherd and it is the podcast of the Herbie interview.

I know that he is a buckeye and that many hate him, but I actually like Herbie. He is a decent analyst and usually (except in coaching hires) knows what he is talking about. He is also not anti-M in my opinion - I think that he respects the rivalry.
Good for Herbie for saying it like it is and not defending TP because he is a buckeye.
TP really does lack character - I don't say that because he picked OSU over us. Time and again (pretty much every time he opens his mouth), he shows himself to be a complete ass. Happy we didn't end up with him, because while we might have won more games over the past three years, he is someone who I would not be proud to call a Michigan Man.

Everyone, pick who you wanna share an apartment with.

This is a trick question right? The one on the left. The one of the far left.
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:35 PM ^
not hot
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:39 PM ^
But Pryor is a tool, and Denard's rediculous levels of awesome would overshadow you at every turn.

Follow. To the ends of the earth.

The only question left in my mind is how long it'll take "TPryor" to make 10,000 MGoPoints in Tressel's system when he could easily have made at least 30,000 by now playing for RR.
December 23rd, 2010 at 5:16 PM ^
I am settling on Aardvark. Good God Pryor, bad decision after bad decision.

I'm pretty sure an ad on craigslist can get you STDs just as fast, and likely with less hassle.

I support any ESPN analyst that doesn't sound like he has 17 moth balls crammed into his mouth while he speaks.

Pryor's high school coach said Pyror sold his awards for his mom. For what, lint rollers?
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:01 PM ^
i highly doubt Pryor also went on Craigslist and sold odds-and-ends or got a summer job to help his mom as well
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:17 PM ^
To what extent these players can have jobs. Does someone know the answer?
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:22 PM ^
They're allowed to have jobs as long as the jobs are legitimate.
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:31 PM ^
...correct. To elaborate:
12.4.1 Criteria Governing Compensation to Student-Athletes. Compensation may be paid to a student-athlete: (Revised: 11/22/04)
(a) Only for work actually performed; and
(b) At a rate commensurate with the going rate in that locality for similar services.
12.4.1.1 Athletics Reputation. Such compensation may not include any remuneration for value or utility that the student-athlete may have for the employer because of the publicity, reputation, fame or personal following that he or she has obtained because of athletics ability.
As you might imagine, bylaw 12.4 continues on with other guidance covering specific situations regarding fee for lessons, camp counselor and self-employment.

Pryor's high school coach is a huge part of the problem...

Maybe his mom wanted to get tatoos as well?
Bottom line is, from what I've gathered over this rapidly developing story, is cops found said memoribilia in a tatoo parlor, from these players, and previous OSU players. How can you even attempt to dispute what it was for?
December 23rd, 2010 at 2:50 PM ^
interview, as noted below. But I heard a part of it where he said (paraphrase), "over the long run, this will make the OSU program stronger." Really Herbs?
December 23rd, 2010 at 4:36 PM ^
You know it might have been a cryptic statement for Herbie to say that "it will make OSU stronger in the long run." He may have been inferring he cannot wait for Pryor to head out of Columbus so Braxton Miller can take command. I have a feeling that's what a lot of OSU fans want.
December 23rd, 2010 at 5:34 PM ^
I think most OSU fans are tired of his shit. I can't wait for Miller Time to start. He seems like a class kid. Tired of TP embarrassing the program and the university.
December 23rd, 2010 at 11:00 PM ^
Certainly in the long run, cause it gives guys that are stuck behind those players some game experience. It pretty much kills their NT hopes for next year, and cements Pryor as the most overhyped dbag in NCAAF history.
December 23rd, 2010 at 2:52 PM ^
Side note: anyone else notice this news is the number 1 story on cnn? Just above North Korea and mudslides out west.
I'd like to think so many people are getting pleasure out of OSU's inability to educate anyone in anything.

....their athletes about something as simple as this, how can anyone be sure that they are doing ANY educating of the athletes in their actual classes?
December 23rd, 2010 at 3:02 PM ^
Pryor obviously just didn't have enough time between tweets and autographs to do thorough research on the subject and write a full paper.

I thought he was going to make excuses, he ripped him pretty hard. And for once, I TOTALLY agree with Colin Cowherd
EDIT: Did Cowherd admit that Meyer was talking about UF's bad attitude too?

It's right in the body of the story. All you have to do is click right on it.
