He's making himself look like an assy ass

Absolutely true. But then again, the last few years have really turned alot of us into "glass half empty" type of people. With time, we won't be worrying about anything except about how much we're going to be blowing out our opponents every week.

When you have as many chins as this guy does he should not say anything to anyone about blubbering.
September 8th, 2010 at 2:43 PM ^
The only people I've heard this argument from are sparties and the "This is Michigan" crowd.

I just spent like two good minutes contemplating which of those two groups is more impossible to talk facts, common sense, and football reality with. Draw.
And to which is more annoying? Another draw.
Maybe it will come to me later or more likely at some point when I am really drunk.

How am I wimpy b/c Denard's workload concerns me? That seems like a logical concern. Apparently, to be tough, you can't use common sense, which makes Pat Caputo the toughest guy around.

I never even cared about DR running the ball 29 times until the DETNEWS, ESPN, and A2.com writers told me I should. I mean in every interview/discussion you see about DR and M football they say how great he is, but he can't keep running it 29 times in the Big Ten. So is it the whiny M fans or journalists?
I'll be waiting for Caputo's anti-RR article if DR does get hurt.
September 8th, 2010 at 2:45 PM ^
It was Caputo, DB-extraordinaire Valenti, and the entire Spartan asylum that kept bringing up Denard's carries.
Typical Sparty.

Uhhh..is this guy complaining about complainers?? Does that make any sense? Geez, what a jackwagon....
September 8th, 2010 at 3:05 PM ^
isn't this thread complaining about a guy complaining about complainers?
I almost want to start complaining about this thread, just to keep that going.
September 8th, 2010 at 3:56 PM ^
I would like to take this opportunity to complain about your reply.
And mine.
September 8th, 2010 at 4:29 PM ^
that he's attacking complaining, rather complaining about complaining. See he is attacking hypocrisy, not complaining. Just hypocrisy about complaining.

he voiced the same opinion on radio monday night and i had to call in. this was immediately after referring to the nd tight end as zach randolph. he talked about leach carrying the ball almost 480 times in his career. when i pointed out that it amounted to less than 12 times per game, he responded by saying a runner is just as likely to get hurt on his first carry as on his twentieth.
it amazes me that a man who earns his living by using the english language can so consistently mangle it on the radio. i have to believe that the most overworked and underpaid person in detroit is his copy editor

That was a bit harsh. Don't seem to care these days tho. Dude doesnt understand the high expectation of perfection we have. Those who don't understand ,no explanation is possible. Those who do, none is necessary

Yeah the Media doesn't get a lot of things about this program. But the one they refuse to grasp is that the university, the AD and the fan base have way higher expectations then what happened most of the latter Lloyd Carr era.
The observant among us realize that Rich Rodriguez is the hired gun to snap the fat boy with Muscle and Fitness cover model potential into shape. Anybody who thought it was going to be simple and painless didn't study the roster and attrition leading up to the coaching change.

The title of this thread just reminds of the old SNL bit - Fred Garvin: Male Prositiute.

Pat Caputo: Male Prostitute
September 8th, 2010 at 5:48 PM ^
I suspect he would be about as successful as Fred was.

Anyone else love false generalizations by media as much as me?
September 8th, 2010 at 3:21 PM ^
I've learned to not even raise an eyebrow to clowns like Pat Caputo. The only thing that matters is the opinion of the coaches, athletic director, alums, and the die hard fans around the world. Outside opinions are generally trashing the program. With consistency in the wins department 90 percent of this trashy media will jump on the bandwagon and start pumping out positive stories. It's the way the media works.

I was really hoping for an answer out of this guy?
I don't think it is so much michigan fans complaining about the number of carries, but outsiders posing the threat that an injury may insue if he carries the ball that much.

Not Journalist.
September 8th, 2010 at 5:46 PM ^
That was a waste of thirty seconds of my life.
September 8th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
I cannot stand listening to this guy on the radio. You can feel the intelligence drain out of you and into the radio as he tries to suck your brain over the air waves.
September 8th, 2010 at 9:37 PM ^
Journalist : Sort Of
September 9th, 2010 at 1:01 AM ^
As mentioned earlier the biggest gripe I have about Caputo is not his opinion (everyone has 'em), but the way he completely butchers the English language. You're a journalist for crying out loud, learn the fucking language!
