How long was that break…

How long was that break after the Time Out.   Ridiculous.  No wonder these games take 4 hours. now.

You don't understand how…

You don't understand how that kind of thing works, do you?   I highly doubt in the 1970s and 1980s that anyone was willing to come forward with this kind of information.  In fact, that's probably what Anderson relied on, knowing he had power and was protected by the MOST powerful person in Ann Arbor.    That's what it's about with these predators, power.    As far as the abuse, in 1969, dads hit their kids.  My dad hit me a couple of times (not that hard, more like attention-getting) and my mom was not happy about it, but he wasn't trying to hurt me.   As far as Millie not going back at it once Bo got him reinstated.  What kind of power do you think she had in 1969?   Remember, there were 3 local TV stations and 3 newspapers that mattered and Michigan had them all in their pocket. You cross Michigan, you lose access.   It was a far FAR different system than today.

Matt's opinion is that Bo…

Matt's opinion is that Bo wanted to have a doctor on staff that he could control.    For instance, Dr. Anderson says a player is unable to play due to injury and Bo says "well, yes he is able to play, doctor, so sign off on it".

That seems like an entirely new sickening layer to peel off of this stinking, rotting oni

Sorry, I call bullshit. …

Sorry, I call bullshit.  Total bullshit.

Harbaugh and Manuel should…

Harbaugh and Manuel should be escorted out of the building TODAY.    Embarrassing.   Getting humiliated is one thing.............Ducking games is another.    This is lower than Rich Rod and lower than Hoke.

The UCLA of the Midwest now.   Were you even alive the last time UCLA was relevant?

Hey, Matt Patricia will be…

Hey, Matt Patricia will be available.............maybe even by Monday !

This also shows how stupid it

This also shows how stupid it is to have rankings before at least 4 games into the league season.    This team was never close to being #7.    They are barely a Top 20 team - onlyu because of the defense.

Chances this year for a signature win remain against Wisconsin, Penn State and Ohio State.   I wouldn't hold my breath.

But I am sure this coming offseason we'll be treated to all kinds of wacky Harbaugh stories.  Weeee..........that sure is fun.

Michigan is no better than

Michigan is no better than Tennessee or UCLA or Texas right now.  Once-great programs that are clinging to the past and losing big game after another.

But they won, nonetheless.

But they won, nonetheless.     All that matters.   Not music videos and trips to Rome.

Jim Harbaugh - 3rd year -

Jim Harbaugh - 3rd year - where's the signature win?   Florida?  Florida sucks.

Dantonio is a coach

Harbaugh is a promoter.

If that's okay with you,  have fun.

It's not okay with me.   1-4 vs. the rivals and that 1 win was against a 3-9 team.

Jim Harbaugh has been outcoached several times now.

If he doesn't get them to a Big Ten title game, at the very least, by the end of the 4th year, he should be gone.  It's just not good enough.   Especially when you compound it with this constant need for attention.

Dave knows how to be a better

Dave knows how to be a better Giraffe...........he sat in on those film sessions of Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.   DKB.   Dave Knows Best.

Well, looking back, spending

Well, looking back, spending $300 million on researching wether or not they should turn the backwards 'R' in the logo around may have been a mistake.

Dave will get another great shot at another high-paying gig.  It's amazing and infuriating.

Only thing he was acatually good at was junk mail - and that is so Dave Brandon, isn't it?

Why does it matter?

Why does it matter?

If Michigan can knock off an undefeated Ohio State and an undefeated Iowa, they will finish higher than Stanford.

Michigan is 12

Michigan is 12

Iowa could complain about

Iowa could complain about dropping after a win, but let's be honest, at this point if you are undefeated in a Power 5 and you win your conference championship - you are in.

Michigan will NOT jump

Michigan will NOT jump Baylor.

This is how I had it Sunday and I am sticking with it, although I could see Oklahoma State jumping Notre Dame.   You may not take North Carolina seriously, but if they beat Clemson, they've got a pretty good chance of getting in.   As much as we need Ohio State to beat MSU, we need Stanford to beat Notre Dame.     Ohio State was #14 at this time last year.   A lot of movement to come.

1. Clemson (-)

2. Alabama (-)

3. Ohio St. (-)

Don't make fun of this kid.

Don't make fun of this kid.  Everyone's lucky that nothing really bad happened.  He's a kid, not much life experience and he made a mistake.   Anybody here, keep in mind, our beloved coach had a DUI at 40.   I don't agree with Urban starting him next game, but I hope he gets enough punishment to know not to even try it again.   Best of luck to him, see him in November.   I'd have less sympathy if he's a repeat offender.

You have to understand.  Most

You have to understand.  Most TV sucked back then.   There were some decent shows around in the 80's.  Hill Street Blues was the first cop show where they didn't always get the bad guys and the cops were very flawed people  St. Elsewhere was the first hospital show where they didn't always save or cure the patient, but those shows never got high ratings.

Then Twin Peaks comes along and it's way, way different and very weird.  I loved it.  There was a lot of strange, weird humor in it and the casting was perfect, but if you go into it now, with the high quality TV of today, you are going to wonder why people thought it was great.    But it was.

Has Agent Cooper been living with Bob for the last 25 years?     Did Audrey get blown up in the bank?  Did Leo escape the tarantula trap?

Dear Mr. Brandon

Dear Mr. Brandon

Maybe you should work for another team.  We'll be fine without you.  We were before.

Signed,  A guy that won't spend a dime on anything Michigan until you're gone.

Wait, he's waited 5 days to

Wait, he's waited 5 days to reveal this?    He's lying.  He is lying right to our faces.   I want video proof.  There's always a camera pointed at the coach.  Let's see it.  I want proof.  Short of that, he's lying about this and if he is caught in this lie he should be fired immediately.    Just admit you screwed up because you did.  I am forgiving of people that make mistakes, you know, being human and all, but all these cover ups and denials are just unacceptable.   This is as low as Michigan has ever been in my lifetime and it's not even the wins-losses.  All this nonsense is far worse than Rich's 3-9 season.

Man, if only Rich Rod had a real defensive scheme and coach.   We'd be talking Football Final Four by now.

Who cares?   It doesn't

Who cares?   It doesn't matter at all.

Please, this man must be

Please, this man must be stopped before he starts renting out the Big House for Paint Ball tournaments.....Of course the paint would be Maize and Blue.

People keep saying what worked for Dominos won't work here.  Let's go back to when Dave left Dominos.....their actual ad campaign was "We're sorry"  They ran commercials bagging their own product.  This is true.  I am sure you remember it.  It was a huge gamble that actually paid off.   Yes, David Brandon made money for Dominos, but in the process the product was cheapened and became unimportant to the marketing.  There was no passion for the pizza.   Therefore the pizza suffered.  Oh, it worked for awhile - once people take a liking to something they stick around, but steadily and surely they recognized the pizza was getting worse and worse and they left.    Does that sound familiar?

Not worried about the new President not being a sports guy.  He sees the budget, he knows what brings money in.  He'll hire the right person.   The climate over there in the Athletic Department has been toxic for awhile - and it has nothing to do with wins and losses.  It's almost cult-like, it's almost like Scientology or something.  But instead of E-Meters, it's M-Meters.........of course.

I believe he did tell him to

I believe he did tell him to "get the fuck off the field".    But oooh, a football coach that swears.  How horrible.

What makes you think he's

What makes you think he's leaving?   I think Brandon gives him 1 more year - even if they should end up with 3-5 wins.     Brandon is one of those guys that believe he is chosen by God for greatness - he never believes he's wrong.     If Mr. Brandon speaks this week and you hear the term "young team" a time or two,  I think it is a good indication that Brady Hoke is staying.    And Brandon has made millions for the school, he's not going anywhere for awhile.

Michigan football had a great year

This team is great.   Look how much money they made.     Face it folks, it's a business now, not a sport anymore.  Only thing that matters is $$$$.   As long as suckers shell out more money to fill that stadium, why would anything change?    Football-wise the program is now second-rate, lower half of the Big 14.

Facts are Facts.   They

Facts are Facts.   They squeaked by Akron and U-Conn - and neither one of those teams are good, even in their own conference.  Akron is 2-4 in the MAC, and U-Conn's coach was fired, they haven't won at all.

Michigan is a lower-half Big Ten team -  and in a bad Big Ten.

Brady did better with Rich Rod's recruits than with his own.

So, not all of you, but some of you,  in early February, just curtail all the stupid recruiting talk.  To me that is the biggest farce in all of sports - it's like a made up Hallmark Holiday.    Five stars, Four stars, none if it means shit.       Or maybe that is now your championship, winning recruiting day.   I don't think they have a trophy for that, but hey, the Bradys made Bobby a trophy for trying real hard,  maybe you can make up one having the most 5 stars in the Big Ten class.

I just know what I saw on the field Saturday was disgusting.     For two years I have watched Taylor Lewan and wondered how the hell he's projected as a Top 10 NFL pick.

App State on the schedule next year.   Every good horror movie has a sequel.   Is Dave going to scalp the ticket prices for that game too?

If he doesn't win, he'll get

If he doesn't win, he'll get fired.    Fine.  That's the business.   Glad he's not going down over this, but he should know better.   I don't even like Bo Pelini (don't hate him either).  But to hell with the person that taped him behind his back.

Always assume a mic is on in

Always assume a mic is on in this day and age.    But doing this to a guy in a moment where he did not believe he was being recorded is absolute bullshit.   This is lower than low.  Okay, Coach didn't say "off the record" but if we had access to everything any football coach ever said to a reporter, player, fellow coach, we'd be alarmed.

My mom watched the Newsroom and she said "there's a lot of swearing on that show".   I told her "you've never been in a real newsroom, that doesn't even touch the language they really use"

This is a really cheap thing to do to the guy.   I don't care what he said, it wasn't meant for public ears and that should be considered above all else.   But hey, he lost big to UCLA, let's destroy him now.

If you secretly recorded Bo, he probably would have never gotten past 1972.

What Coach Pelini said was wrong and he should have used restraint, but doing this is as low as it gets.     At least during Earl Weaver's famous (and hilarious) tirade, he knew he was being recorded.

Can't start big games like

Can't start big games like that.   While I did not expect a win in Bloomington, I expected a better start than that and it was all-too-similar to the Ohio State game.

Play like that in the tournament and I don't care how big or small the school you play is - you'll be out in a hurry.   I expected more.   I don't' care that they tightened the game up,  they should have never let it get so out of hand so early.

Bad game.

What bothers me is what if

What bothers me is what if Derrick Green just turns out to be a good player?   What if he is not an All-American?   Are some people going to take shots at him?   Call him a failure?   I am sure some will, and that's unfair to him.    Some of these guys are so completely superior to who they play against in high school that it makes scouts drool, but until they play against guys that are just as big as they are, that have the same relative speed they do, and with the spotlight of national TV and 110,000 watching in person, we just don't know.      There are so many "busts" and it's because there almost seemed to be a competition in building someone up rather than evaluation what they are.    I know there is always going to be a ratings system, but I just wish we'd all stop looking at it like it's some kind of word of God measurment (and I am an atheist).   And it works the other way too.   Jake Ryan was a very under-the-radar type of recruit, wasn't he?   That guy was not supposed to be fast enough.   He may not win in too many foot races, but damn if he is not the fastest reactionary player on the defense.    Again, I wish Mr. Green well.  I hope he is as good as some think and I hope he represents the school well in his personal life and attitude, but I don't have any expectation of him - he is righ tin the middle of the scale to me because he has yet to prove anything.

Yeah, many of you will slam

Yeah, many of you will slam me for this, but I think the whole obsession over recruiting is overrated.  You don't know  until you see them play against others on this level.    The recruiting rankings are completely overrated.   I am glad Michigan got Green, but I would like to see him actually play before doing a happy dance all over the place.     And trusting what rivals.com says is like trusting what ESPN has to say.  There are agendas abound there and I just don't buy what they say.    Good luck to the kid, I hope he excels, but I know people who actually lose sleep over recruiting season - and I think that is silly.

Yeah, the no blood on her

Yeah, the no blood on her dress as they walk though the party was a bit sloppy to me, but here's what I think happened.   We found out after the episode that Jennifer Carpenter running over to hug "Maria" after she shot her was not scripted it was improvised.   I am betting that they shot the walking through the party scene first and the shooting scene later and just didn't catch it (which is a really big miss).

What is interesting though is we all have it wrong.  It is Maria we should be rooting for, not Dexter. Dexter is the bad guy, remember?    He is responsible for innocent people dying like Rita and like that photographer from the Trinity season.....(it was the photographer's assistant that was the killer, and Dexter, in a hurry, killed the wrong guy).   He need to answer for that.    I do believe the show ends with Deb killing Dexter.

One of the reasons the books are better is that the books are told from the first-person, from the thoughts of the main character, and even with narration it's really hard to go into detailed thoughts when a first-person narrative is conveyed on the screen.

I thought it was a really good, redemptive season (last seasn was brutal), but like Walter White and Tony Soprano, I have turned on Dex and I want him to pay for his crimes.

Mitt Romney's not doing

Mitt Romney's not doing anything........

Oh piss on Notre Dame.   For

Oh piss on Notre Dame.   For all their talk about tradition, they are just like the rest of 'em.....its only about the money.  Fine.   See ya later.   Good luck finishing middle of the pack in the ACC.    Because when I think of the Atlantic Coast, I naturally think of Northern Indiana.

I LOVE the fact that Brandon

I LOVE the fact that Brandon had the balls to schedule this game.   This is Michigan, and Michigan fears no team and real Michigan fans take this loss with their chin up and looking ahead.   I think as much as anything, this was a barometer to see just how far they have to go before they are close to being a top program again.   Nothing wrong with that.    Last season was a charmed season with a lot of key games at home and very few major injuries.   I think this team will be a better team and not win 11 games.    Sorry they got beaten so badly, but for cying out loud, at least it was the defending national champion doing this and not MIssissippi fucking State.

Shanahan is a very reasonable

Shanahan is a very reasonable guy and he's always been an ambassador for hockey.   He was a tough, but not dirty player himself, and recently.   He understands what these guys are about.

If you tbink he's been wishy-washy keep in mind this is his first year doing this and he's still trying to get  a feel for it - and man, has he been put to the test in this first round.

As these  playoffs continue - you may see some more consistency - and because of this punishment you may see less of this nonsense

I'll give Shanahan the benefit of a doubt - but I really want to see a crackdown on this headhunting stuff.

By the way, I am disappointed in Carl Hagelin for what he did to Alfredsson.   He's better than that (at least I thought he was).

He was headhunting.   He left

He was headhunting.   He left his feet.  He's done this before.   I think he should be banned for a full year.   Enough of this.   I like hard-hitting hockey, but guys that are targetting other players' heads should be dealt with seriously.    This wasn't an accident.   He left his feet, full speed and drove his shoulder into his head.............that's not hockey, that's an assault.

And he flew all the way to

And he flew all the way to Phoenix to watch that.

I just love how everyone

I just love how everyone wants to kiss up to this high school kid.  You truly have no idea if this kid will be a boom or a bust and people on this board and in the Michigan community will totally freak out that he is not coming here.

I guess there will be no other running backs in the country that could possibly come here.

And all the current players will leave, right?   Because any time a coach leaves a program EVERY player and EVERY recruit leave.

Step off the ledge.....Richie's gotta go.
