Dude, you are doing the impossible - making me rethink my lifelong love of burgers!
They apparently have stupid in them, and a little bit of troll too!
ND is coming off a 4-8 season, have a purple-faced apoplectic fit for a coach, will resume falling further behind M in the all-time wins & winning % race as soon as they get the nerve to play us again!
OTOH-
Mmmmm... Burgers!

Good call. As are Donovan Jeter from ND, Lavert Hill from PSU, and David Long from Stanford. Those were all top tier recruits which is what I was thinking about.
I know there's been lower tier recruits like McDoom from Oregon and Nordin from PSU, but I was thinking more of the top tier ones since its harder to flip those.
And clearly I need more coffee this AM to get the ol' memory cells working.
February 13th, 2017 at 12:57 PM ^
How about you slip a little something in that coffee to help your attitude too!
After trolling this thread all morning you suddenly realize you have memory problems?!
I think it goes a bit deeper than that
February 13th, 2017 at 9:29 AM ^
Donovan Jeter--which is particularly relevant to this recruitment .
February 13th, 2017 at 9:30 AM ^
was Lavert Hill a PSU commit at one time?
Nordin and Dwumfour from PSU as well
Walker was an OSU commit at one time
Higdon - Iowa
Solomon from Michigan :)
as far as I know, the one to Stanford last year is the only one we have lost (was Webber ever committed to Michigan?)
February 13th, 2017 at 9:43 AM ^
Wasn't one of Crawford or McDoom an Oregon commit?
Also he got Gentry to flip from Texas
February 13th, 2017 at 9:46 AM ^
McDoom was an Oregon commit. David Long was a Stanford commit.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:46 AM ^
McDoom was an Oregon commit.

Well if we are going off on field performance, I'm sure Eddie and Kekoa realize they made the right decision.
February 13th, 2017 at 10:01 AM ^
Weber was committed to Michigan, multiple times actually.
We've also lost Devery Hamilton (the Stanford kid you're referring to), Chris Clarke (the TE with a fear of committment), and Jordan Elliott (the DT with a fear of committment). I'm probably missing others since November 2014 but those stand out.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:31 AM ^
Flipped from Notre Dame.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:42 AM ^
Reuben Jones from Nebraska. Wasn't Shelton Johnson also a FSU commit?
February 13th, 2017 at 9:58 AM ^
LOL like 50% of our commits since Jim has been here were committed to a school before signing with us.
Reuben Jones (Nebraska)
Shelton Johnson (FSU)
Karan Higdon (Iowa)
Grant Perry (Northwestern)
Nolan Ulizio (UConn)
Zach Gentry (Texas)
Lavert Hill (PSU)
David Long (Stanford)
Mike Dwumfour (PSU)
Quinn Nordin (PSU)
Eddie McDoom (Oregon)
Kareem Walker (OSU)
Nate Johnson (Purdue)
Stephen Spanellis (UVA)
Donovon Jeter (ND)
Kwity Paye (BC)
Brad Robbins (Nevada)

Lavert Hill from Penn St.
Quinn Nordin from Penn St.
Uhhhhh other guys from Penn St. prolly. Oh, yeah! Michael Dwumfour from Penn St.
February 13th, 2017 at 3:09 PM ^
Especially after Kelly is gone after the year.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:06 AM ^
That's a pressure commitment by them I'm guessing. The kid must not know how big of dick and idiot Kelly is or how bad ND sucks. He won't stay committed there.

February 13th, 2017 at 10:19 AM ^
So there were going to be recent tweets about ND. Was there much earlier?
Brandon Brown quoted Gervin saying Michigan had "laid back lately in recruiting him". Take that for what it's worth.

ND will have another crap season and he'll be uncommitted in a jiffy

I'm continually surprised by the Purple's ability to recruit.

True story. I won't bash a kid for his choice of school, but it is kind of a head scratcher that Notre Dame is still able to get kids like this to commit this early. Kelly has proven to be an awful human being, and they just had a terrible season. My only guess is that kids are committing to the school, and hoping that ole' purple face is on his way out soon?

That's one thing I've always wanted to see someone do the research on. Just a massive spreadsheet with all of the commits and decommits for like the top 300 or so recruits going back years. 247 records all of that stuff, but I don't know how far back they go with it.
Would be interesting to see how commit dates for QBs have changed over the years, how often recruits decommit, how often someone like Solomon decommits and then recommits, things like that.
Would also be fun to see what the record for most commits and decommits is. Jordan Elliott has to be up there. Committed to Baylor, Houston, Michigan, and Texas in the span of a year.

then once from Indiana by October. Signed with Indiana.

Too much time between now and 2018 signing day for me to anaylze this today.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:30 AM ^
Long way to go 'til February 7, 2018. Another subpar season for the Domers would probably put him back on the market.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:58 AM ^
Might need to speed it up since the early signing period is a thing now.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:31 AM ^
Gervin isn't expecting an open door policy. Seem to remember Donovan Jeter saying that all the Michigan coaches have open door policies, while he had to sign up to even see Brian Kelly.....
February 13th, 2017 at 9:32 AM ^
Ten months from now, ND will be looking for a new football coach. Stay tuned.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:33 AM ^
Why are we not in on the 6'7" Tackle out of Traverse City? Ryan Hayes
I know it's not a great idea to get star struck. But is tackle. Is borderline top player in Michigan... At the very least you don't want him going to State.
And I don't see the issue going with 2 gaurd shaped OL and 2 tackle shaped OL in a 4 man class. 1 each from instate (McCall, Hayes) and 1 each from out of state (Ekiyor, Florida kid).
February 13th, 2017 at 9:45 AM ^
Hayes is a TE switching to OT. Apparently his potential for the tackle position is extremely high, but he is underweight (around 250lbs) at the moment so people don't really know how his athleticism and other qualities will hold up when he gets to playing weight. A bit like Austin Jackson from the 2017 year essentially.
February 13th, 2017 at 9:50 AM ^
Offering high school TEs as tackles isn't out of the norm. Tight ends in run-heavy offenses (like Hayes's) run block like tackles, anyway. The pass pro is different, but pass pro in a run-heavy high school offense is going to be different than most college offenses, anyway.
I don't see the weight being an issue. He's athletic right now at 252 lbs. He will probably be slightly less so at 300 lbs. It's not a big projection.

We will have Gouriage, Petit-Frere, Faalele, and Antwan Reid all above Hayes on our board. It's probably safe to say that we can pursue those 4 heavily for a long time, and if we somehow strike out on 3 of them, move on to Hayes.
If we are going to take one OT as an development, high-upside kid this year, it's Daniel Faalele, the 6'9 390lb Australian at IMG.
