Navarre wasn't perfect, but he also could throw an accurate deep ball and didn't airmail it 10 yards like Speight.

He also is the last QB to lead the team to an outight Big Ten title.

At least the 2003 season yield a Big Ten title, victories over both rivals.

After the shitshow that we have witnessed since 2008, you would think people would actually finally respect Navarre.

Instead you have people who cherish the "talent" of guys like Tate Forcier and Speight.

It would be nice to have a "major chokejob" or failure of a season result in a Big Ten title.

No, actually I agree with you. Speight seemed to get tentative after the interception at msu. He played inconsistent and made it easier for teams to stay in games with us. Michigan had no business losing any regular season games this year. Speight went in the wrong direction and  as he goes so does the offense. Luck definitely didn't go Michigan's way, but with the defense we had we really shouldn't have needed any. Bottom line is that is in the rear veiw mirror and I think Michigan's offenses moving forward will be much better and rated way higher.

If first-year John Navarre had been our QB in 2016, you would be here telling us he sucked and should never play again for Michigan. You're not fit to use his name—John Navarre has more class than you can dream of.

But to the topic at hand, which is your scorching hot take on Jim Harbaugh's coaching ineptitude, you should write a letter to Warde Manuel demanding Harbaugh's immediate dismissal. It's UNACCEPTABLE for Michigan to get outcoached by famous loser Kirk Ferentz.

I think Jim Harbaugh  is the best possible coach for Michigan.

I think Jim Harbaugh is a top 5 coach in college football.

I think Jim Harbaugh is orders of magnitude better as a coach than Kirk Ferentz.

...but that doesn't change the fact the Iowa game this year, Harbaugh was totally outcoached.

We don't need "consistent" quarterback play. We need great quarterback play. Harbaugh is determined to field a slow, plodding offense with a mediocre offensive line and a QB who can't run. Under those conditions, we need a quarterback who makes tough throws all the time, someone who can carry the team. Speight will never be that guy.

Not to mention that harbaugh is not recruiting slow guys at any skill position. He is also getting bigger guys to play on the interior of the line with longer guys on the outside. That dude could not have been more wrong with what he claims harbaugh wants from his offense. I mean, ever qb he hand picks can scramble. Every single one!!

We don't necessarily need great QB play. Alabama has won 4 national titles with game managers. What do they have we didn't? A road grader of an offensive line. All their running backs lately Ingrahm, Yeldon, Richardson, etc all in the NFL. For Christ's sake MSU has done better at putting backs into the NFL than us lately.

starter playing behind an unreliable OL and with an inconsistent running game. His ability to hang in the pocket and shake off puss rushers was above average, especially first year. He is the last person on a unit with senior receivers, TE, RB, along with a senior laden OL, I'd be pointing the finger at. I expect him to step next season.

I'm think you're underestimating the Alabama QB quality a bit...

*2015: Jake Coker - #32 QBR, 70.2 rating

*2012: AJ McCarron- #3 QBR, 84.9 rating

*2011: AJ McCarron -  #8 QBR, 77.9 rating

*2009: Greg McElroy - #17 QBR, 72.1 rating

Man, even for a concern troll shtick this is really bad.  If you think Peters and McCaffrey are statues you clearly haven't watched them play.  As for the OL, well he has 2 freshman guards who were top 100 recruits, he's bringing in the #1 center in the country, a top 100 OT, plus a few more high upside guys.  Nope, no relief on the horizon coming.

Seriously what is with you and john n? Are you the same person? Wilton is literally the only "tall statue" qb on the roster... The online was not great at run blocking, particularly into a stacked box. Harbaugh is bringing has brought in 2 top five classes with plenty of big bodied guys that won't have multiple years of coaching from funk... They will be like his lines at Stanford and the niners in no time. People like you act like Michigan was not talked about as a 3-5 year rebuild because of the dumpster fire it was before he got there...

The rest I can get on board with, but De'Veon Smith in the middle rounds? Maybe I'm missing something but he seemed to miss a lot holes when he was here. Maybe in the late rounds and behind the Cowboys line he would be scary but if my team (the Colts) drafted him anywhere near round 3/4 I wouldn't be too happy.

Yeah I'm not saying he has no skills, he's tough and runs behind his pads with power few others have. However, he takes a long time to get going, isn't too quick through the hole, sometimes struggles to see even open holes directly in front of him. Behind an all pro line I have no doubt he could be a monster, but it would take perfect circumstances for him to stick IMO. But I love the kid and he's a fighter, hope he proves me wrong.

is not going in the middle rounds.

He was a mediocre at best college back.  How does that translate to the middle rounds in the NFL?

He's way too slow for the NFL.

The Running Back position is one where I don't think you can assume anything. No one thought Thomas Rawls would become a solid NFL RB. Smith has heart, and a competitive drive that every coach admires. Say what you want about DeVeon Smith, the guy is a Michigan man all the way. He may not go in the mid rounds, he may not get drafted at all, but I guarantee that come next NFL season, DeVeom Smith will have his name on a roster somewhere.

Right? The area I've been most impressed with so far during harbaughs reign is player development hands down. I'm confident most of the players on this list would not be where they are today if not for Jim Harbaugh and the staffs ability to develop players. Ann Arbor is about to become an NFL factory once again!!!

Absolutely!!. I think our 2018 class will be unreal even compared to this year. With kids actually seeing this many players drafted it will make recruiting that much easier going forward. I see a real changing of the guards coming as in #1 class annually. If Michigan fields a team that is contention this year for the Big ten championship we should be good. If it wins it well I almost feel sorry for the rest of the Big including meyer. Things just didn't go as plan this year and really was a missed oppurtunity, but looking towards the future I am very bullish Michigan Wolverines.
