Harbaugh's Headset
First let me preface this by saying I love the fact we have a coach who wears a headset.
Hail Harbaugh!
However I find it interesting that the Ram automotive company has their logo pasted all over it. Does anyone know if this is due to fallout and leftover idiocracy from DB?
I understand advertising on the headsets is (unfortunatly) unavoidable but it is usually the name of the company providing the headset (AT&T, Verizon, Bose) not an automotive company. I am very happy the Athletic Dept and fans have kept most of the advertising out of Michigan Stadium (dispite DB's best efforts) so I find it suprising that a his headset (dispite being an amazing marketing medium) has advertising on it. Or maybe I am inept and Ram does make headsets.
Go Blue!

More importantly, why was Harbaugh's blue shirt a different shade then every other garment on the sidelines?
September 16th, 2015 at 10:44 AM ^
It gets darker when he gets pissed.

Harbaugh is wearing his favorite college sweatshirt that has been through the wash cycle many, many times.

Because it's definitely navy...as is his hat...which is also a different shade than everyone else.
September 16th, 2015 at 12:24 PM ^
Nope, it's navy. The headset is black, and it sitting right next to the shirt. Additionally, the hat is the same shade of navy. The rest of the staff are wearing Adidas Michigan blue.

Custom made to Harbaugh specs, Bo M, darker blue, whatever else he needs.

Headsets double as protective devices against concussion when coaches headbutt idiotic officials. You know, like when rams headbutt each other. Hence the connection with Ram.

I wonder of those babies have side impact air bags...for safety and all.

That's why it's so big.

Those look to be David Clark brand headsets. Those were the headset of choice for when I flew C-130s back a few years ago. Quality stuff. It'd be cool to see those make a comeback on the Michigan sideline, but I fear that commercialism will keep that from happening.

And they look almost exactly the same today. They even make a version for listening to music. Not sure why they don't spend any money advertising those, as they could probably snatch some market share from Beats and other overpriced mediocre headphones with the right ad campaign and celebrity endorsements.

I have a pair of those, but mine have a mic.

I have Bose A20's. I used to wear the clam shells but I cant go back

There's one sale.

I have an old Jensen brand headset - probably 30 years old - that I wear while mowing the lawn sometimes. I will say this, it was pretty easy to get lost in the music when I had a stereo which actually had the appropriate outlets for those phones, and all these years later, they are almost as good as noise-cancelling headphones while doing yardwork.

Those are sweet. Looks like you're piloting an F16 instead of listening to your iPod. What really made them for me was the HUGE dimeotype BO. You could read that from the last row I remember. Harbaugh would need something equally concise and assertive. Maybe a 4?
September 16th, 2015 at 9:55 AM ^
Haha Bo's headset looks exactly like the head piece I wear working on the flight line

No - founded in 1964 by Dr. Amar Bose who had been a graduate student at MIT in the 1950s.

that would be a great twitter account name in the tradition of faux pellini - random witty comments on the antics, thoughts, actions, etc. of Harbaugh from the perspective of his head set.
Some one funnier than me should totally do that

Who gives a shit. Seriously...what century do posters live in where they don't realize that branding is a way of life, especially when we have a stadium that relatively lacks it.

September 16th, 2015 at 11:01 AM ^
There is room for improvement here! The lack of advertising in the stadium is truly a unique beautiful thing. It is tangible evidence of superiority.
September 16th, 2015 at 11:10 AM ^
superiority!?! Don't be pretentious. It is tradition that we generally lack advertising, but we need some degree to continue to fund our program at a level that allows us to have the best facilities needed to compete with the OSUs of the world
September 16th, 2015 at 11:29 AM ^
The Cubs have begun doing that and their once beautiful ballpark is now becoming the same as every other stadium.

Since a few years ago Ram is actually its own manufacturer separate from Dodge, I think. Both owned by Chrysler.
