Glasgow suspended.
Angelique Chengelis:
From UM per Glasgow: We have been made aware of Graham's probation violation and he has been suspended...cont'd
— angelique (@chengelis) March 16, 2015
From UM/Glasgow- "subject to punishment through the judicial system, the student-athlete alcohol policy and the Michigan football program."

I wish he'd taken his probation more seriously. He had an opportunity here that's been taken away for a length of time TBD.
He messed up. Now, let's hope he learns from this mistake.

While I'm all behind anything that puts drunk drivers behind bars, the kind of perverse enjoyment-bordering-on-glee prosecutors and judges in Oakland County take in just mercilessly nailing these people is really disgusting.
But, that's Oakland County.
JAMS is a program where you basically cannot drink at all for a very long time. Coworker of mine (who is probably an alcoholic) has gotten two DUIs and has told me all about it. You have to be tested a certain number of times a week. You randomly get calls at any time during the program. You will always be called in for testing like 4 times during Thanksgiving and Christmas. You have to get special permission to travel, because you cannot miss getting tested. It sounds completely terrible.

Damn--first Miller, now Glasgow. Tough breaks on the OL for 2015.
I'm happy for Miller, of course--but for the offense in 2015 I haz a sad.
Sad for Glasgow. I hope the young man can get things turned around.
It's beyond sad, it's incredibly stupid, to say nothing about how he put himself before the team.
I'm beyond disappointed at the number of Michigan football players who have managed to get themselves in trouble with the law over the last few years.

even within Michigan and even between one judge to the next.
Oakland tends to be the harshest by reputation
Drugs and footwear cannot be discussed without the great Mr. Carlson.

it's almost like the judicial system is corrupt (privately owned prisons et. al.)
crazy.

1. He was supposed to have learned his lesson from an incident almost exactly one year ago.
2. There's a very good chance that Graham Glasgow is an alcoholic and as such he'll have to have a much greater life changing event before he'll "learn his lesson."

"NO RUNNING FOR GRAHAM"
At some point, like immediately, Graham Glasgow must be held both responsible and accountable for his actions. Making sure this young man gets his future in order seriously smacks of enabling the alcoholic.

At 10:00AM Sunday morning. Either he woke up and started drinking, or he drank himself into a stupor during the night and his poor liver was still trying to metabolize the excesive alcohol he drank during the night. Either way he has a serious problem and it's called alcoholism. He either doesn't know when to stop, or he never actually stops. Dollars to donuts, previously after having passed a brealthalyzer, he would get hammered knowing he wouldn't be tested again for a few days.
My family has a history of alcoholism, and mislabeling the disease harms those who really have it and need help. I'm not saying he isn't necessarily an alcoholic, but you have absolutely no idea what it means if you think this is proof.

and thus are "breaking the law". Tssk, Tssk.
I get that Graham put himself in this position by getting the DUI in the first place, but IMO this offense should impact only his path to regaining the priviledge of driving again (perhaps severely) but should not be considered criminal activity.
Right decision. Sucks he couldn't follow the terms of his probation. Hopefully he is given another chance.
Unfortunate situation all around. Glad he's just been suspended for now though and can continue to grow with the support of the university and team.
He's got a lot of support while at UM & there won't always be someone there to keep him accountable. I hope he learns from this & is better for it.

I think he'll come back stronger, literally. JH will probably run his ass off in practice.
Well; better now than during the season I guess. The kid's got time to make it right with himself and his teammates. Hope he does so for his sake and for the sake of our OL.
Why do you think he won't be suspended during the season? I'm wondering what the terms of the suspension are.
I think he means that its good that we found out he was suspended now, compared to later on after fall practices and a couple games. That would be a major blow for the chemistry for the o-line. Still an overall bad situation. I really hoped we would avoid any stories like this in the offseason.

No one has any idea what the terms of the suspension are. I guess I'm just hopeful that he gets another chance and takes advantage of it.
Good luck, Glasgow. I hope you get the help you need. Hopefully there will be a time where look back on this knowing that you became a better person because of it.

I'm not saying he's an alcoholic. I'm aware that kids make stupid mistakes. I think he needs help because of the dangerous road he's potentially heading down.
Never happened to me either. However, smart people do stupid things on occasion. Hopefully this is one of those instances.
I'm all for his suspension. Whether or not he gets booted from the team I leave to people with much more knowledge about the situation than myself.
Both have scholarships now.
Last year he was suspended for Spring practice and then the season opener.
It will be interesting to see what Harbaugh does if it is just this one probation violation, and nothing more happens before the season starts.
If I'm Harbaugh, I'm wondering if this says anything about the culture of the team. Who was he drinking with?
Probably drinking with Jim or Jack, maybe some guy named Miller. Of course it could have been that he invited them all at the bequest of Sam Adams.
