OT: Meet Jim Tomsula!
I debated posting this because it really has nothing to do with Michigan, but once again I just cannot believe the Niners pushed Harbaugh out to hire this guy.

Maybe it's not completely fair to judge his intelligence based on only one interview. Especially in the NFL where recruiting isn't a factor, I think it's possible to be kind of gruff or not that personable and still be a good coach.
But yeah, he didn't come off as being very charismatic or very prepared for the questions they were going to ask him.

"What's your first order of business, when you get back into the office?"
"What do you mean, like yesterday or today?"
Oy... this is a charismatic interviewee... He must be better when he's not on camera and be a really really good coach.

That's what we used to say about Hoke.

This interviewer is aggressive and entitled. I couldn't stand more than a minute before turning it off. We have no idea what the coach is or isn't thinking because the interviewer is too busy talking and trying to force Tomsula to answer questions he doesn't want to answer.
I am guessing, though, that the SF GM is a lot like David Brandon. He didn't want a football coach; he wanted a sock puppet.

but Tomsula could still just answer the questions like a normal human being. Both of them look really bad.

JT: "I would not say that. I wouldn't say that, either."
"Offensive coordinators, what if I throw a name out there, Marc Trestman?"
JT: "Idon'tmeaah...augghnnnyaahung..."

Wasn't as bad as I imagined. He just wasn't prepared at all and seemed to be leery of trap questions. He's not a good speaker... sometimes says too much and sometimes says too little. In addition, he also had no chemistry with that interviewer, who was way too fast for him. They didn't click at all and the interviewer was trying to make him look like a dunce.

Sounds like a Jim Harbaugh interview.
Except the horrible unhealthy breathing into the mic
January 16th, 2015 at 6:08 PM ^
I'd say that they both try to not answer questions but that's where the similiaries end. Tomsula is in way over his head. A rawh rawh guy that people like but just not smart enough to be in charge of things.

It's the game management. The management of the game.

Thanks again Jed York! Wouldn't let him run a lemonade stand!

I didn't listen to much of the show this morning so I didn't hear Ira's statement about Tomsula, but why is it so unbelievable that he might be the source?

Loaded the page, went to do something, and heard the sound go on. Wondered what kind of ad popped up.
EDIT: Read further down and see I wasn't alone.

January 16th, 2015 at 5:22 PM ^
That. Was. Brutal.
January 16th, 2015 at 5:23 PM ^
Tomsula makes Brady Hoke look like Winston Churchill by comparison.
January 16th, 2015 at 8:25 PM ^
Well it's a good thing that football coaches aren't expected to talk in front of large groups of people on a daily basis.
January 16th, 2015 at 5:24 PM ^
I watched it a second time just to make sure I wasn't hallucinating the first time.
January 16th, 2015 at 5:24 PM ^
A blow to the head might knock this guy conscious.
January 16th, 2015 at 5:29 PM ^

January 16th, 2015 at 5:28 PM ^
