Hoping for TCU or Baylor at #4.  Expecting OSU at #4.

Time to see.

Most of us are dissappointed, but look at it this way. If OSU would’ve been left out, and went on to win their bowl game with another great performance. There’s a chance they could’ve got the AP National Championship vote.

This way they still have to get pass Alabama, and possibly Oregon or FSU.

Besides that, we would’ve had to hear forever how they were good enough to be the real champions this year if they had been left out.

If Alabama can beat them down… it’ll end all the speculation and talk.

Holy fuck they just said bowl eligible teams matter.  Michigan was almost a bowl team.  Illinois is a bowl team, so is PSU, so is Rutgers.  Beating bowl eligible teams doesnt mean shit.

Focus on top 30-35 teams.   Not bowl eligible teams lol.

really did make a difference. Unbelievable.

And the fact that Big Ten teams, who scheduled sisters of the poor OOC to get bowl eligible in conjunction with playing all the other terrible teams in the Big Ten, somehow got 6 wins mattered.

Didn't OK State get bowl eligible, too, though, on the last day?

But seriously, how many dogshit bowl eligible teams are there? It is so hard to not be bowl eligible. It took some rare fucking talent to do that here.

Gary Patterson, all you need to do is do the same thing you did at TCU at UM and you are apparently guaranteed a playoff spot.  You will face 2 real conference games all year and no competent offenses except for 1-2 a year.

So come to daddy.*

clearly they picked the "best politician" for this job.

The guy won't answer a question in a straight and forthright manner; he is PERFECT for this clown show AND the SEC.

Amazingly, Joey Galloway is the ONLY one making sense on this panel today.

TCU and Baylor got screwed, IMO.

wish I could have laid a bet in that brief interval of time, because as soon as you saw FSU as #3, you knew with 1000000000% certainty that those assholes were in.

FSU at #3 could only mean that they had moved a team in that they couldn't possibly justify putting in at anything other than #4, which meant is was obviously the Buckeyes.

We have to stop worrying so damn much on how people sound.

Hoke sounded great in his press conference. As did Brandon. As did Brandon when he fired Rich Rod.

If you were on MGoBlog it was all about how well they handled the press conferences. They were our fearless leaders who sounded great.

Hackett got the same thing with the Hoke firing.

At this point, I'll take a mute and learn sign language if it means our athletics department is on top and our head coach is one of the nations best.

"OSU is just a bigger brand name that's why they made it. This was an ESPN production from the beginning, hate I didn't realize that from the get go."

Spot on ...

To be honest as much as it pains me osu deserved to get in. I thought tcu should have been in instead of fsu. But I can't wait till Oregon slaps Winston's ass..

Cowards way out. Basically they are saying: if Baylor and TCU had a rematch we would pick the winner of that game. However, we don't have that data point so we will take OSU.

Mr. Yost

December 7th, 2014 at 1:13 PM ^

You can't make up a data point you don't have!

The Big XII should have a championship game and that winner would've easily been #3, FSU #4 and OSU #5.

You can't just make up a game that didn't happen.

Also, how do you know who would've won? Baylor beat TCU, but they won at home by 3. How do you know who would've won if both played at Cowboys AT&T Stadium with a 50/50 split?

The Big 12 does it right. Play everybody. Baylor did play TCU - and Baylor won. But the relentless march toward sameness that's ruining college football insists every conference have a "championship" game.

Then Baylor can't be 128 out of 128 in scheduling!

Go play someone.

So if that's you're argument the B1G still got it wrong.

And I disagree...because there IS a such thing as home field advantage. I agree that you want to play everyone. But you can't play home and away.

And you just big upped the only major conference with co-champions for having a true champion. That doesn't make sense man.

They're co-champions. Per themselves.

The problem with your logic is they played the best representative from the other division, who DID play everyone in that division and won.  It's not like they skipped out on playing the best teams from the other half of the conference.

By your logic, the NFL should make every tream play every other team in the league.  It's not feasible.

Actually I think Hollywood would turn down the script as too farfetched. In all seriousness I wonder if this leads to the Big 12 grabbing Cincinatti and someone else to get back to having a CCG? Though, I still think we will see 4 16 Team conferences. The SEC will pick up some ACC or may Big 12 teams, same for the B1G and the Pac12 will grab more B1G 12. What is left of the ACC and Big 12 will merge.

Those games will not be played until we have a new coach in place.

So the last college-related event is that your hated rival, who has been pounding on you for a decade plus, just made the first college football playoff.

I don't care how much Schlissel is interested in the fucking balance of athletics and the university or whatever ridiculous (lol) notion he thought himself into.

After what just happened, if you think the people who matter are going to tolerate some half-ass candidate like Schiano, I think you don't get people.

In any rational universe, what just happened should guarantee that this whole thing is now deadly serious for the people involved, because every stakeholder's willigness to remain interested in what has heretofore been complete fucking bullshit is now on the line. And that's program survival stuff.

Also have to hope it appeals to Jimmy's sense that he is the one who must restore order to the world, that the world needs a savior, and that the savior's name is Jimmy Motherfucking Harbaugh.
