It wasn't above head level waters. I think the deepest part may be about 3 feet. That is part of the reason they get the other injuries. People jump in,. expecting more water and are suprised when it isn't there. Also the bottom is a bit uneven, so you can slip and twist your ankle a bit.

Before she passed away, my mother started having trouble with names and details about what used to be easy things to recall. I remember being with her at family or social functions and needing to, from time to time, almost act as a translator. It is hard watching Corso at times, for me.

|1 week 22 hours ago||Actually he just finished up on a book||
Thrillogy, about the last three games of our season last year. He has also been doing some promo work for it this week, so that might be part of the reason for the delay. A lot of his stuff has been late this year, so it isn't just Michigan Monday. And he stoppped writing his Gamewatch articles, which were a smeowhat snarky recap of his notes as he watched the game. He would talk about the other media people and at away games the food in the press box, but also go over his reactions as the game was going on.
I've noticed a lot of the feedack on his MM columns here depends on by how much Michigan, won their game, if they did. Now, I have my own biases, so maybe I am seeing them differently, but they have looked pretty consistent across the course of the season. It is the reaction that has been more in flux.

If it isn't a penalty why the yardage? I think they still have the option to keep the yardage if it is something like roughing the passer with targetting, late hit out of bounds with targetting, etc.
But, look at the call against Bolden. There is no way he should have been ejected and there is no way MSU should have gotten yards for it. If they had correctly overturned the targetting you are saying MSU should have gotten the yardage anyway.
Outside of the Bolden call the targetting calls I have seen overturned, for the most part, have been hard hits in the upper part of the body, but low enough to not be targetting but they caused the players head to snap back. Illinois was flagged for one against our WR Michael Thomas last week, that I was happy to seem them overturn. He was hit high, but not too high, but his head snapped back, so the ref threw it and then let the replay sort it out. he should not have been ejected and we should not have been gifted 15 yards for a legal, hard hit.
I hate that it breaks the flow of the game, but I get what I think is the process. They err on the side of it being a call and expect the booth to clear it up. Which is fine, I suppos,e if the booth does the job right. In the case of Bolden, they did not.

He is probably in the running with Peppers for B1G Freshamn of the year. He has won it a couple times as well. He had a nice game against us, a little under 200 yards and a TD called back on a hold. Their Oline, though, is not anywhere near as solid as Indiana (that was weird to type) and I'm not sure their OC can figure out how to exploit anything Indiana showed them.

I was looking up verifaction and was going to post that, but you beat me to it. Article with name.

And nodding in agreement. This is almost straight out of their meltdown handbook.
Last year, they had some valid concerns about the officiating in our game with them. But we won by 28 this year but for some of them it was because we only got called for holding once and they had a TD nulfied by a hold.

To see if there was some kind of Michigan scandal/ tragedy, etc that would have caused the site to go down due to traffic. I really don't wish that on anyone so happy it was whatever technical issue it was.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Penn State is who they view as their primary rival||
The problem is their historic record against them is awful and they are 0-2 since being in the conference. Maryland, who also wants to be THE rival with Penn State, at least is 1-1 in conference play though they also have an abysmal all time record.
As for Rutgers, they don't like Indiana much. I guess some of their marching band showed up to the game at Indiana, did some kind of skull session like pregame concert with the Indiana marching band. However no one from either band had failed to inform the athletic department they planned to bring instruments in the stadium and were unhappy when told you can come in but the instruments need to stay in your vehicles. Given all their other institutional blunders as of late, it did seem like a very Rutgers thing.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||And that is the problem we have as well||
You have to schedule these so far out the way thngs currently work, you have to hope the opponenet is still good. I know they beat us last year, but Va Tech wasn't a great team last year or this year, but when we scheduled them they were. Same with Cal a few years back. We have Oklahoma coming up this year and next, then TCU for two years and then Oregon for two. TCU looks really good at this point, but in three years folks might be saying, "Well who did OSU beat OOC? TCU? Please." Oregon could be back by the time we play them or they could spiral into what they were in the early 90s.

Actually, the process had been in the works for a while, the change to semesters did take place in 2012. But it was talked about when I was a freshman back in 1988 and probably before.

I think the kickoff time of your game with PSU will be determined by whatever time the decided to set our game with MSU. I just don't see them being on at the same time or with much if any overlap. I suspect OSU ( and perhaps the B1G and ABC/ESPN) are trying to convince MSU to go with 8 pm, which makes your game likely 3:30. If we go 3:30 you guys are probably Noon, unless Harbaugh and Hackett agree to a night game at Happy Valley.
I think from a crowd perspective, you would be best served by a noon kickoff. Your game is Penn State's Whiteout game for the season. Like many fanbases the later it gets, the louder they get. That whiteout looks great and feeds on itself at night. I'm not sure it would do as much at noon. 3:30 since the time change is going to get dark by halftime, especially as they are further east in the time zone, so it gets dark a bit earlier.
Penn State has also been suffering a bit of an attendance malaise this year. Their home schedule is, for the most part, uninspiring. You guys, are by far, the marquee game for them at home this year. Unfortunately for them, this is the weekend before Thanksgiving and there is concern in the PSU fanbase that the students may not turn out because they are going to head home early for the Thanksgiving holiday. If both of you keep winning, maybe more will choose to stay. But if they trip up at Northwestern this weekend, while it still will be a hostile road environement, it will not be what it could be.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||He is in the running with Barkley, Scott and Thorson||
Week One - Clayton Thorson, Northwestern (QB)
All of them have some big games left, Barkley with you guys and MSU, Scott with us and Penn State and Peppers, of course, PSU and us. Thorson has a good PSU defense left to go against and Wisconsin who has been meh.

Did he usually include big underdogs who lost? I don't recall that, but don't have time to go back through all his old ones. Just curious, because not sure why Nanni bothered with Penn State. They were a 17 point underdog who lost. I do recall Brian giving them a pass for all of 2012 because of the sanctions.

But he did say nice things about special teams.
The Michigan Special Teams
Aside from Lincoln getting shot in the final act, the Michigan special teams actually put on a pretty decent play.
Blake O'Neill opened things up with an amazing 80-yard punt that completely flipped the field and took away any of the momentum that the Spartan offense thought they were going to get.
Jabrill Peppers had a punt return of 34 yards and a kickoff return of 49 yards, but he did have a muffed punt late in the game that the Wolverines were very fortunate to have recovered.

|5 weeks 4 days ago||The booth reviews all plays||
If they see something, they'll call down.
Hypothetically, i f that had been ruled a catch but he was out of bounds, if the Spartans didn't hurry and get another snap off they would have reviewed and called down as well.
In this case I assume MSU took their time getting to the line and gave the booth enough time to call down. Sometimes a team will take a timeout hoping that gives the booth more time and saves their challenge.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||You are right||
Bosa got a targetting call last weekend against Maryland. The 15 yards stood, the targetting portion was overturned after review, so he wasn't tossed. I've never seen them overturn the whole thing, which should have been the case yesterday for you guys.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||I think most OSU fans thought it was a bad call||
I imagine many Spartan fans may think the same thing as well. I would love for the replay official to go over it with someone like Spielman and try to convince him.
I missed the broadcast of your game, did the guys in the booth talk to the replay expert they sometimes have available?
|5 weeks 4 days ago||I believe this is the same crew||
That officiated our game against PSU last year. The one where they had issues with reply on an early inter eption we got that wasn't and missed the play clock had run out for three seconds on a long field goal kick for us.

I know he is on local radio a bit down here, but most of his stuff is late this season. He does weekly picks which he used to have up by noon or sooner on Thursdays. This week it was 10 pm. Michugan Monday has been later in tbe day than usual and then not until Tuesday tbis week. He stopped writing the Gamewatch, which was a snarky recap of his notes as he watched the game.

You were 7-2 when hosting College Gameday. Kind of wish the guy doing this for free had kept doing it for free. :)
|6 weeks 5 days ago||I could almost see the part about this is what you wanted||
Some of the local radio guys here fall into the camp that would be happy if you went 0-12 every year. I'm in the "If you want to be the best, beat the best" category.
I figured Harbaugh would do well, the talent on paper at most spots was there. I am impressed by the defense, shutting any team out is impressive, doing it three times in a row is almost unheard of.
The offensive improvement over the last few weeks has been the biggest surprise. I expected a 13-9 kind of game, with either team getting either score. I did not expect what I got.
I will admit to being nervous about The Game. Unfortunately, that doesn't mean a whole lot. I was at OSU during part of the Cooper years, I'm always nervous about The Game.
