Didn't he put up a shit ton of yards?
January 15th, 2024 at 9:33 PM ^
Threw two picks, sacked multiple times, and most importantly two losses.
January 16th, 2024 at 9:49 AM ^
Doesn't that make Stroud's worst nightmare the Michigan games?
AND it's a nightmare that will never go away.
January 15th, 2024 at 9:33 PM ^
Ah...you've come back to try to ruin football for us. Your presence is always so very unwelcome.
January 15th, 2024 at 9:40 PM ^
speaking of putting up with a ton of sh*t…
January 15th, 2024 at 9:59 PM ^
Ah yes, yards. The stat that determines the winner of the football game.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:14 PM ^
I'm fairly certain Brady Hoke legitimately thought that time of possession was what the game was all about.
January 16th, 2024 at 6:19 AM ^
Well, his headset wasn’t plugged in so…
January 16th, 2024 at 6:54 AM ^
Cant “hear football” with a noise cancelling headset!
January 15th, 2024 at 10:16 PM ^
RichRod agrees with this rule change--as long as the red zone is excluded.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:13 PM ^
I swear to god I have heard WAAAY too many times how many yards that guy put up on this GD blog. The number of posters that would trade CJ Stroud and his 300 yards for JJ and his National Championship is mind numbing.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:21 PM ^
They clearly don't read the articles on here, then. The defense we've run since 2021 allows good QBs to rack up a lot of yards; importantly it prevents them from scoring TDs.
January 16th, 2024 at 8:58 AM ^
At least it isn't mind bottling.
January 16th, 2024 at 9:58 AM ^
How many TDs? Not enough to win, that's for sure.
January 16th, 2024 at 1:54 PM ^
Yards between the 20s don't mean a thing.
January 16th, 2024 at 2:46 PM ^
Didn't Dak Prescott put up a "shit ton of yards" against the Packers on Sunday? Remind me of where his team is now...
January 16th, 2024 at 3:33 PM ^
Yes, but, importantly, yards do not equal points.
In 2022, Stroud was 31-48 for 349 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs.
Dak put up 403 yards Sunday, and the Cowboys lost 48-32. He had 3 TDs and 2 INTs.
January 15th, 2024 at 9:35 PM ^
Is it really Ravens style when it’s the actual Ravens?
January 15th, 2024 at 9:37 PM ^
Any defense the Ravens run is a Ravens-style defense
January 15th, 2024 at 11:02 PM ^
No matter what the temperature is in the room you’re in, it’s always room temperature.
January 16th, 2024 at 3:22 AM ^
Non-assless chaps are just pants.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:46 PM ^
Isn't just the Raven's Defense then? To his point.
Guadalarians don't go out for "Mexican food".
January 16th, 2024 at 1:06 AM ^
Well they should. It’s damn tasty.
January 16th, 2024 at 12:40 AM ^
Some would say the most of all the ravens-style defenses.
January 15th, 2024 at 9:43 PM ^
Is this a trick question?
January 15th, 2024 at 10:39 PM ^
Yes, but had it been "Ravens-esque", it would have been incorrect.
January 15th, 2024 at 11:59 PM ^
I’ve always pondered the difference between surreal, surrealist, and surrealistic (and as a UM Art History minor am quite certain of the distinction.)
The Michigan difference.
January 16th, 2024 at 9:45 AM ^
Surreally?
January 16th, 2024 at 5:25 AM ^
If "Ravens-esque" means "like the Ravens," shouldn't "burlesque" mean "like Burl?"
He was great in "The Big Country," BTW.
January 16th, 2024 at 6:29 AM ^
Well isn't this a frosty Friday?
January 16th, 2024 at 3:31 PM ^
That movie is amazing. Have to watch it again now.

One can have Detroit-style pizza in Detroit...
January 16th, 2024 at 12:26 AM ^
Some of the best Detroit style pizza is made in Detroit.
January 16th, 2024 at 12:43 AM ^
Maybe the best Detroit style pizza I’ve ever had was in Denver, of all places
January 16th, 2024 at 1:13 AM ^
That's where I first heard of it. On a first date with the now wife.

Blue Pan??
January 16th, 2024 at 10:00 AM ^
Let's get Jets, da...da da da da!
January 16th, 2024 at 4:12 AM ^
Or actual ravens?
Nevermind. I mean, Nevermore.
January 16th, 2024 at 9:56 AM ^
It is when it's from Baltimore, otherwise it's technically just "sparkling pass defense."

like when Hutch tuned his pass protectors into mattresses?
January 16th, 2024 at 12:33 AM ^
I don't know why anyone here would hate on CJ Stroud. He's my favorite Ohio QB of all time. A world beater who is winless against Michigan and outstanding at the next level, deepening the fathoms of Michigan's greatness in 21 and 22 with every excellent NFL pass.
January 16th, 2024 at 1:15 AM ^
Yeah seriously we should all want him to be almost as good as Brady. Every bit of success he has in the NFL reflects some glory onto Michigan and the heights these defenses of the early 20s have reached.
January 16th, 2024 at 3:19 AM ^
Excuse-making whiner. Obviously followed the lead of his head coach. I'm shocked at his instant success, since he wasn't a captain and he obviously was not a leader.
He is the antithesis of a Michigan Man. We never hear any Michigan players giving excuses; only accepting accountability.
We'll see how he handles adversity and pressure. He's still enjoying his immediate and somewhat surprising NFL success. He just suffered a concussion. What happens after his next one?
January 16th, 2024 at 11:02 AM ^
This take seems unnecessarily harsh. He was a kid making those statements, and he’ll mature (he already has, it seems). And his success shouldn’t be too surprising, given his accuracy and touch. I join others in proclaiming that Stroud’s success reflects very well on Michigan’s defense.
January 15th, 2024 at 9:40 PM ^
CJ is a great player, but his closet is completely void of gold pants. In the words of Coach Harbaugh, “We did that. Pull it down.”
January 15th, 2024 at 10:07 PM ^
I dont think the gold pants are the type to go in the closet but otherwise correct.
i choose to pull for Nico Collins, but this game is going to be high scoring.
January 15th, 2024 at 10:15 PM ^
Correct statement would be "His EBAY account history has zero previous Gold Pants sales"
January 15th, 2024 at 10:40 PM ^
Kinda wish we gave our players, say, a gray pants token when they beat them. The gold pants thing was clever.
