This is fucking embarassing. We've all stood by you. We've all defended you. You make us all look like idiots and you embarrass the legacy of the season now.
fuck this. Fuck this.

I'm surprised they didn't either negotiate the suspension down to two games or follow through with the litigation. His absence will make a difference in the finale.

you guys. this is positive. the two sides needed to come back together at some point. Clearly there have been tons of conversations behind the scenes and the fact that the big ten is closing their investigation is huge. 'Time served' for Harbaugh is going to go a long way when it comes to the NCAA levying their own penalties.

yall are being so naive and short sighted. The ncaa rule is the head coach is responsible for everything within the program. If the NCAA wants to, they could use that to bury us. The more we cooperate, the more lenient the ncaa will be. There's good chance now that the only penalties will be this suspension and probation. And who the hell cares about that? That's the best case scenario.

No one is going to give a shit about a 3 game suspension when we still beat osu.  We should be worrying about vacated wins and a bowl ban which now those things are a lot less likely to happen. Those penalties would forever tarnish the program. We're about to celebrate 1000 wins. We don't want that taken off the books in months/years time

And MGo, you're forgetting one thing...THEY DIDN'T BREAK ANY RULES!!!  The B1G said they were punishing the university not the coach. Then fine the AD $1M. Taking the coach off the field punishes the entire team.  If we lose to OSU, which is now a possibility, this whole thing was a giant waste of time. So much for innocent until proven guilty.

The NCAA was not going hammer Michigan especially if they saw Michigan tear their own conference apart in court. Even if they do, I rather they punish Michigan in 4 years than do anything this season. The Fab Five era was still a great era in Michigan basketball and people remember the players and the games not the stupid shit after.

Showing your belly doesn't work, fighting back does. All the schools that have fought back against the NCAA have won. Nothing happened to UNC, or Tennessee or Kansas and they had much worse issues.

We have a way less likely chance to beat OSU which was the whole fucking point of OSU doing this and pushing the B1G to punish us. They win, they all win, and Michigan gets nothing out of this. They couldn't even reduce the suspensions.

I took it as a positive as well. Honestly felt relieved as a fan because I was NOT looking forward to refreshing Twitter non stop tomorrow with a pit in my stomach about what the out come would be.  I would have rather them settle and close the investigation instead of dragging it out as much as possible because even getting the restraining order was no guarantee. Imagine how we would all feel after the hearing if the injunction wasn't granted. We'd be sick and angry. And those losers threatened to put more punishment on Michigan if they felt like it. So, with them closing the case Michigan can 100% focus again on the rest of the season though I don't doubt they weren't going to be ready to go this weekend and next regardless. Remember Jim can still be with the team during the week.

We literally just beat a top ten team on the road with less than 24 hours notice of the head coach being suspended.

Im disappointed but I don’t think they would compromise here without good reason. Michigan still gets Harbaugh the other 6 days of the week to coach and game plan. The team is experienced enough to handle it, even against a team like OSU.

It’s not great news, but the year isn’t done guys. Win it all anyway, get Harbaugh’s contract signed, fuck the haters.

Day is a really good coach; Frames isn't. Let's not pretend that this is the same situation. We saw issues with play calls getting in, and Harbaugh is a top coach in all of football for a reason. He provides real in-game value. The team played pretty differently in the first game he was back versus the four he was out.

The chances of OSU beating us are WAAAAAY higher now. Day is a better head coach than Franklin by a mile, and I don't trust Moore against him.

OSU weakening Michigan is the whole point of all this. OSU doesn't care about us beating fucking Maryland or Purdue, they cared about Michigan not beating OSU. This gives them a huge boost, and they get what they want.

If Michigan wasn't willing to stand up to this, then they'll never stand up to anything and they'll always be a second class citizen in this conference. Now Pettiti and OSU know it for sure.

I assume there is more to this than what's public.  Unless B10 has agreed to stand all the way down and rely only on B10, this does not feel like a wonderful deal for us.

Assume you meant NCAA.  And that's where I am.  if this is a "global settlement" on this matter, I guess I get it.  But doubt the NCAA would formally or even informally send the signal that the 3 game suspension satisfies them ... so yeah what do we get out of this?  In the end, it's the same old Michigan rolling over.

UM showed face to appease the base, and it worked. Effectively rolled over and showed the B1G our belly in the end, but at least we had all that rhetoric to tide us over.

And more importantly, Jim probably feels good about the AD/Pres standing behind him heading into that new contract... which I expect wouldn't be touched until B1G Championship week at this point
