Franklin is a horrible coach. Harbaugh is a good coach. Don Brown is an incredible coach. It showed.
November 3rd, 2018 at 9:53 PM ^
Agreed, also Warinner needs to get some recognition also as when you compare this OL to last year, it is not an understatement to say that it is night and day.
November 3rd, 2018 at 10:08 PM ^
The job he's done is simply amazing.
November 4th, 2018 at 12:58 AM ^
So Harbaugh is a "good" coach?
Ok. At some point in the next few years, everyone who follows Michigan football is finally going to realize that we have one of the best coaches in the game. And the list will be very short.
November 4th, 2018 at 9:46 AM ^
One of the things I love about him, is that while the man knows what he wants to do, he doesn’t seem to have an issue bringing in other talent. Almost like a great CEO. He also (doesn’t seem, to my untrained eye) wedded to an overall scheme slavishly.
With guys like Mooch with the Lions, or Hoke, or RR they seemed less flexible and more touchy about their purview.
Harbaugh seems perfectly happy to have overall vision control (we want to be physical) but let the coordinators have a lot of control.
I love it. And it’s gotten us some damned good coaches.
November 4th, 2018 at 11:29 AM ^
I wrote it after week 1. Many Michigan fans are mentally soft and those on this blog typically never played and have ridiculous expectations for what the team should be doing. People have very limited visions.
Harbaugh is one of the best coaches. He hired Don Brown, and he is the one who righted the ship after last year’s anomaly. We are blessed to have him as our coach. The instant gratification folks can continue to criticize him—free country—but I am not looking the gift horse in the eye.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
Don Brown is awesome. Love that man. Offense sets up a lot of plays for the second half. Love it. Grind out And TOP is through the roof. Not worried when they are down anymore. We are in good hands. One more stop on revenge tour
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
Like someone said on Twitter, "I am OK with keeping this Harbaugh guy and that Don Brown guy...."
November 3rd, 2018 at 11:49 PM ^
"Someone" is right. Keeping them would be a good idea.
...unlike half of you on September 2nd who wanted Harbaugh gone: "He's not getting it done." "He doesn't have his team prepared." "He can't win a big game." "Fire Harbaugh!"
A message to those of you (and there were MANY of you) who had these kinds of takes after 1 game of the season: ...realize that your knee-jerk reactionism makes you look not smart. Instead, you're merely obnoxious "BAW OMG" BPONE guy with no perspective. Let the season play out and don't define your coach by the team's worst performance of the season. Now you love him!!! Congrats on being a tool.
Genuine congrats to Michigan for being a legitimate CFP team. I'm jealous.
November 3rd, 2018 at 11:57 PM ^
so long as you also inform your own fanbase of their many character flaws as well... and they are staggering
November 4th, 2018 at 12:31 AM ^
Knee-jerk reactionism doesn’t make buckeye fans look “not smart.” You are all just fuckin stupid. The last people we need a lecture from on how we view our coach are buckeyes. Fuck off and enjoy your 1 score victory over shitty Nebraska
November 4th, 2018 at 1:44 AM ^
Uh. I could care less WHO says it. He's right.
November 4th, 2018 at 4:50 AM ^
How much less could you care?
November 4th, 2018 at 1:07 AM ^
I agree with this.
So long as we’re talking about Sept 2nd, everyone should take a moment to recall the reaction on this board and all the “fire Harbaugh” takes after the PSU game last year.
Felt almost identical to the “fire Beilein” takes a few years back.
Happy for these kids, the staff, and excited about the future of the program.
Go Blue
November 4th, 2018 at 1:36 AM ^
Six years of oline problems, then the ND game should lead most rational fans into the BPONE.
SIX YEARS. 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Calling for Harbaugh after ND was ridiculous, but the disappointment and BPONE about the oline was RATIONAL man.
November 4th, 2018 at 8:08 AM ^
I thought we made progress in 2015 and 2016 so I wasn’t that concerned with the OLine problems, but after last year, yeah, DEFCON 1.
November 4th, 2018 at 10:15 AM ^
Hahaha too funny. Go read your buddys posts at 11warriors halftime thread. More than half of the posts are "fire UFM". Sanctimonius asshole.
November 4th, 2018 at 4:57 PM ^
Hmm...so you're saying both fan bases are a lot more common than you would like to admit?
November 4th, 2018 at 4:55 PM ^
BuckeyeChuck is spot on! Some of the people on this site are pathetic.
November 4th, 2018 at 7:16 PM ^
Every fan base has folks like that. You're sanctimonious post really just comes off as snarky and self righteous. I'll agree the few folks who posted fire Harbaugh were ridiculous, I'd be willing to bet just as many if not more were calling for Urban's head after Purdue and Nebraska ( but they were perfectly fine with him coming back after Zach Smith)
November 5th, 2018 at 4:42 PM ^
You're right. Every fan base has that. I read enough here that indicates a perception that the entire OSU fan base is like that but the Michigan fan base is above it.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:09 PM ^
All I can say is I have never seen a Michigan team so transparently be spiteful towards another program like that. Even Sparty. It was amazing. The number of times we mocked PSU's signature celebrations was at least a half dozen. Maybe more.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:28 PM ^
The arm flailing and baseball swing clearly mocking Trace M. Also was it M fans saying “we aren’t penn state?”
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:34 PM ^
We own Penn State?
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:35 PM ^
This was traditionally the chant during the Carr era.
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:27 PM ^
Thanks for clarification, sir.
November 3rd, 2018 at 11:53 PM ^
A lot of students were actually saying "We f**** Penn State" too
November 4th, 2018 at 6:24 AM ^
I thought they were saying "We are Ped State," but it was hard to tell with my big smile partially blocking my ears from hearing the TV.
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:34 PM ^
Let me add to this. We need to rub it in . Be pricks..Bo was one. It'll keep our edge. None of this apologizing to rivals crap..
#thankshoke
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:10 PM ^
Salty Harbaugh is back, if he was ever gone. A bit petty on the last drive, but whatever. I’ll bet the team loved it. They wanted the shutout.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:58 PM ^
Holy Shit...
Maybe I am a bit high, but is JMFH Murderwolf?
He's always been here? We thought he was gone last year, but was just biding his time?
I can't connect all the dots here, but the appearance of Murderwolf and salty JMFH can not be a coincidence.
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:35 PM ^
Take Speight injury and never get JOK, and we would have had this years earlier .
November 3rd, 2018 at 10:03 PM ^
He has never left. When he has the shovel, he buries the other team. He doesn't take the foot off the gas.
Given the chance, he will win with cruelty.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:11 PM ^
I love Jim Harbaugh
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:12 PM ^
Michigan was doing what they wanted with them so much it got boring. The only reason the end of the game was so interesting was because of the shutout they were pitching
Great game coach!
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:12 PM ^
Just when I started to think we were getting way too conservative, the swing pass to Evans and the short pass to Gentry for the TD came out of the bag. Just ground them down, and pulled out something different after PSU got over committed to stopping the inside run. So happy that jackass Franklin got payback for his cheap effort to try to score at the end of the game last year.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:13 PM ^
Only because there's no special teams thread...I feel like Quinn was hesitating too much on his approach to the ball and thereby freeing up rushers to get in the trajectory quickly
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:00 PM ^
Exactly. Doesn't look like he is confident in the snap/hold. Seems to be checking the hold then proceeding.
November 3rd, 2018 at 9:20 PM ^
I'd really like to see this get fixed. It feels like it's going to be important at some point.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:13 PM ^
One team played checkers, the other team played chess
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:28 PM ^
Nobody can win then...
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:36 PM ^
It was really backgammon and Don Brown was the winner.
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:31 PM ^
The sad TD drive was them saying “King me” after we had already checkmated them.
November 4th, 2018 at 12:45 AM ^
James Franklin was playing tic tac toe against the WOPR.
November 4th, 2018 at 4:04 AM ^
A strange game, Jimmy F. The only winning move is not to play...
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:14 PM ^
When you beat # 14 team 42-7 nothing to second guess. Some of the big pass plays our receivers were wide open. Impressive win all the way around.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:14 PM ^
Also as I enjoy my post game cigarette...Harbaugh can chew as much as he wants.
November 3rd, 2018 at 7:17 PM ^
Hated the punt on PSU 35 after taking a delay. Thought the screen pass to Higdon should have been an Evans play. Other than those 2 it made me smile.
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^
No. The question is "Why is Evans playing?". Clearly, at this time, there are several RBs who are better than Chris on this team. There are coaching philosophies that support playing "Evans"...I disagree.
November 3rd, 2018 at 8:38 PM ^
Re Evans .He is sublime in space. Screens .not up middle
