Three four-star DT's decommit from Texas
A Texas source confirmed that four-star defensive tackle Zaycoven Henderson (Longview, Texas/Longview) has decommitted from the Longhorns. A 6-foot-1, 318-pound Semper Fidelis All-American, Henderson is looking at other options after learning on Tuesday that defensive line coach Bo Davis left Texas for a similar position at USC.
Henderson joins fellow four-star defensive tackles Trey Lealaimatafao (San Antonio/Warren) and Courtney Garnett (New Orleans/St. Augustine) as former Texas commits. All three made their decisions Tuesday evening, hours after hearing the news about Davis.

The one link I found was behind the "In" label on ESPN. Appreciate the non-paywalled version.

We could use some more beef in the middle of our DL!

More important question might be, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU PRONOUCE "Lealaimatafao"???!

I tried and all that came out was "LOLLMFAO".

I tried it a couple times and then stopped as I thought I was gonna end up like your avatar

To fit his last name on the back of his jersey.
My wife was in the room when I was trying to pronounce it. She thought I was trying to say a cause word. MOFO!

Not a very strong start for the new coaching staff.

"Strong start" -- I see what you did there.

The article being mentioned is here - (LINK)
Those who have remained so far are in this quote:
The Longhorns now have three in three-star defensive end Sione Teuhema (Keller, Texas/Keller), three-star defensive tackle Jake McMillon (Abilene, Texas/Abilene) and ESPN 300 defensive end Derick Roberson (San Antonio/Brennan), the team’s top-ranked commit.
Yeah, that's not the best way to start for Charlie Strong. Per the article, Henderson was a TCU commit until the fall, then chose Texas over Baylor and TTU.

Ouch. Decommits and/or transfers are usually expected though.
January 8th, 2014 at 3:59 PM ^
But...3 of them?? All on the same day. Same position. All 4-stars.
That's a HUGE ouch.
January 8th, 2014 at 4:45 PM ^
Charlie strong was a great hire and I wouldn't worry about his future there.

If he has any class, Bo Davis will call the kids and tell them TX is still a great place and that they should honor their commitments.
January 8th, 2014 at 4:09 PM ^
His responsibility is to USC and he should try to pick them up if USC wants them.
January 8th, 2014 at 4:43 PM ^
Only if he honestly believes that - he may not.

I can haz four starz?
January 8th, 2014 at 4:03 PM ^
No. You may not.

And 4 weeks until signing day? Seriously, like WTF Chuck!
January 8th, 2014 at 4:29 PM ^
Bo Davis was hired away by USC. This class is gonna be a wash for the Horns, much like Brady Hoke's 1st class was.

I only care about this if any one of the thre recruits is looking at us as a viable option.Lord knows we could use another DT recruit. Mone is nice but Pallante is very undersized for the position. We need some beef up front and Malik McDowell appears to be looking elsewhere...
January 8th, 2014 at 4:39 PM ^
Hopefully after a season of adding weight Pallante turns into something resembling Mike Martin.

signing period to make staff changes.

Wait five weeks? But I'm mad now!

at least with these guys.
Borges, QB coach - Speight's already in school
Jackson, RB - no commits
Fwiw, I think it is a reason to keep Funk for now (JBB) and that Jackson leaves on his own terms. Hiring Borges' replacement soon may help in filling those last spots.

Doesn't look like we were much involved with any of the three.
January 8th, 2014 at 4:38 PM ^
as someone else pointed out, attrition is a fact of life when there is a head coaching change. Especially one where a lot of the assistants will probably move on also.
January 8th, 2014 at 5:01 PM ^
Also, I wonder if any of them re-commit which is often common. In addition this is one of the reasons I don't think we need to fire our coach every season we don't get 10 wins. I wonder if at least one get brought along to USC, wouldn't shock me. Or are they still out of scholarships out there? I honestly haven't paid attention. LOL Kiffin is all I've heard about USC for the last year, until his firing.

Well, one is now gone (Zaycoven Henderson). Hope I linked this correctly.
