There are higher end ($$$) ones that go more but most home treadmills go up to 12. Its the speed I set when I am doing high intensity intervals...not running for 10 minutes!

Thank you for posting this!…

Thank you for posting this! Love the track update! I'm a runner and do a few road races a year. I'm an OK runner, but when people ask if I ran at Michigan I have to tell them there were 3 Olympians when I was at Michigan (Brannen, Willis, and Alan Webb)...so no. Very much no.

I said in October or so to…

I said in October or so to my wife "I really hope U-M wins it all, and not just for the obvious reasons". Yes...for so many reasons, yes!!! I have a strong feeling the NFL-ization of college football will be a net negative. I will (maybe soon) wish for "the old days". But with super conferences, a big playoff (& less meaningful regular season), and fully professional players w de-facto free agency, I just can't see that I'll have the same passion for the game as I've had.

I suppose its nice timing for me as my boys will be 7 and 10 at start of season and I'll be busy with their sports and activities. As OP said...I'll watch when I can, and I'll sing The Victors, but I'm going to try to take an emotional step back from fandom.

Thanks for posting. When EPL…

Thanks for posting. When EPL was broadcast regularly here in US I decided to root for the team most like U-M. A team in the north whose area's best manufacturing days were in the past, with a powerhouse team with many championships, and a multiple championship rival, who had fallen on tougher times.

So yes I see the parallels here too. Especially as Klopp went up against some oil funded high money teams in his tenure and brought Liverpool back to the Championships they had previously known.

I like the idea of the UNLV…

I like the idea of the UNLV OC and using a modified version of the Go-Go offense. Especially this coming year with Edwards and Mullings

Agreed. My comment got…

Agreed. My comment got buried to second page in other thread and multiple other people have mentioned so as long as this stays up can we talk about the unbalanced 6 and 8 home game years? Bad for the AD and season ticket holders. Probably no chance of flipping Tex/OU

So, question: It looks like…

So, question: It looks like the way the Texas and OU series are set up there will be alternating years of 6 and 8 home games. I'm reading this correctly yes? I can't imagine this is ideal for the AD nor for season ticket holders. Am I missing something?

I was at this game. They…

I was at this game. They used a wider playbook until they saw that they could get at least 5 yards consistently running the ball, and understandably just did that in the second half. VT has a terrible front 7, especially interior line.

I believe (but could be…

I believe (but could be wrong) that because this was announced before the additions of Oregon and Washington that those opponents will need to be re-worked.

Not sure if serious but I'll…

Not sure if serious but I'll bite. My first read was the older concern, especially amongst the craft beer bros of not wanting to drink the "sell outs" to the corporate suits. Leine, Goose Island, Terrapin and other highly successful former craft breweries sold to AB or MillerCoors. Many didn't want to buy "corporate" beer preferring local independents.

But yes there is the recent boycott of AB due to transphobia from a influencer/model/whatever who posted on IG/TT/whatever who was drinking Bud Light.

I coached both of my son's…

I coached both of my son's little league and had a lot of fun doing it. Sometimes thankless, sometimes herding cats, but a great experience.

I'd like to scream into the void today a bit with my low-my wife has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of cancer. There are days where it doesn't seem so bad, but today ain't one of them.

I'm in Philly and the past…

I'm in Philly and the past two days were very bad. The haze and smell came in Tuesday evening and Wednesday and Thursday had terrible air quality. All outdoor events were cancelled Wednesday and some Thursday too. Phillies-Tigers delayed their game. We're in the middle of our little league playoffs so it messed with the schedule a lot. Fortunately today has gotten better. But I know its still smoky and bad elsewhere. Please pay attention to your weather and the AQI before planning outdoor activities.

Yeah Indiana's fielding has not been great. We'll take it

Great stuff as usual. One…

Great stuff as usual. One nit to pick (or question really, I don't know the answer) could Michigan have actually challenged that terrible spot? There was a time that you could only challenge a spot if it made a first down or not. Not to just add a yard. Is that still the case?

So FYI that is the case for  the men's numbers in the rafters. Players can still wear the numbers that are honored now.

EDIT* Cassie is the exception. No 33 is retired, not in use. The others are honored, but still worn.

Braylonfest I must agree was…

Braylonfest I must agree was excellent. However, the Rose Bowl loss to the Vince Young led Texas team was one of the greatest games (and individual performances) I have ever seen, despite the poor outcome this may be the greatest to me.

I agree with both points…

I agree with both points. But we take the discrimination we've been doing since the start of sports for granted. We have men's sports and women's sports & separate competitions. We do this due to the understanding that men and women are biologically/physiologically different and it is unreasonable to expect them to compete equally against one another.

Its far from perfect, but seems the only realistic way forward is to have a separate competition. otherwise we're going to allow cis women to be trampled at the highest levels of competition (as someone else alluded to, authoritarian governments will have no qualms about forcing conversions)

I very much hope that…

I very much hope that BGraham isn't done despite the injury this year. That would be a pro bowl player on the D as well.

Well, you would hope so...

Well, you would hope so...

Thank you for going though…

Thank you for going though this well done. One thing that really stood out to me is that we never have been a throwing to RB team. Our best RB gets ~1 rec a game and 100-150 yds a season?!? Other college teams incorporate their RB into pass game no? What is going on here?

This is the first I've…

This is the first I've noticed the athletic department acknowledging the 2 Final Fours from the Fab Five era. 8 FF includes them on his edit. It's 6 *officially*

Thankfully he's at Michigan Hospital so getting good care. As we know, ICU availability is not uniform currently. Best thoughts for recovery coach!

An interesting point. I (as…

An interesting point. I (as posted below) am a UofM undergrad now PA. I was instate though. So yes OOS tuition is a lot, but PA school tuition is much less that MD/DO (largely because 2 fewer years). In my personal experience, I was likely accepted to PA school largely due to my UofM degree. The idea that PA school is much easier to gain admittance than medical school is incorrect.

I am a PA who went to UofM…

I am a PA who went to UofM undergrad. There are multiple good options for majors to prepare for PA school application. I did school of Kinesiology with movement science major. A very good option as it has fewer other requirements which allows space for all the prerequisite classes to be taken. MANY fellow students were preparing for health graduate schools (MD, DO, PT, OT). It depends on how far he got through his other program and what is completed already.

I doubt Gov Kemp would be…

I doubt Gov Kemp would be keen to sign other bills that take 75% of people's income/wealth for redistribution.

Further, stuff like this makes it seem as though piecemeal state legislation will be too cumbersome and federal regulation/legislation may have to resolve. Alternatively, if a state like...I dunno Michigan passes less restrictive NLI laws that may give them a leg up over Georgia (not that a bunch of money won't stop flowing under the table)

Thanks for bringing this back. I'd suggest-What happened to the princes in the Tower? Yes it's likely that they were quietly killed, but some of the alternative explanations are just fun

I'm not criticizing your post but am disappointed in the (very real) idea that COVID will be around for spring practice. FFS, we have a vaccine. Let's get this out there so that we don't have this ongoing albatross hanging over our lives!

*sorry, this ends my COVID ranting for today

A very good point. They…

A very good point. They initially had a bad injury season (happens) and fired their medical staff. I know and tangentially work with the doc they sacked so call me biased if you like. But their injury problems have been progressively worse since changing their med staff. Regardless of cause, they have really been decimated by injuries lately.

Unless there's something I've missed we don't know how many players how cleared for participation and how many are withheld for +test or contact tracing. It is possible the remaining available players are taking steps to be prepared for the crossover game as opposed to this Saturday. We'll see.

I'm not sure why this has so…

I'm not sure why this has so many negs. He is discussing known inherent risks of playing football. There are risk mitigation strategies for these (helmets, newish targeting rules, clipping rules to protect knees, etc.) Covid is a risk as well. As our coach has well articulated, steps are being taken to mitigate the risks of Covid transmission. Players can choose not to play. One of my best friends quit HS football after a spinal injury scare (was fine, could've easily not have been). Players have to make decisions based off of the known risks and those in charge must take steps to limit the risks. The principles are not new, just the specific risk.

It's both. I don't know why…

It's both. I don't know why this is so hard to understand. Not taking risk mitigation strategies seriously spreads this virus.
